quick question to any coal miners or whos worked with it, im working on a project that requires a hardened coal rod, something like an anthracite rod where in this world can i aqcuire one or how can I take a regular coal piece and turn it into a hardened rod??
no pits left here, no jobs, no community now ,nothing. coal towns full of crime and drugs. nothing to be proud of here now ! the UK mining industry is shattered, 125 pits closed 120.000 underground jobs gone ! i wish the pit was still open. i have not had regular work since they shut the pit in 1989. . 20 years of migrant building work. its shit ! i used to be able to walk to work at my pit and i thought i was there for life. cheap imports from Poland closed them down here . .ghost town ! . .
AND IT WILL PEAK! then what AFTER the mountains are TRASHED! Should we not do better as a people. Should we stop inventing things because some people want the same old same old..
Does anybody know where I can get a copy of this documentary? I can't see it sold anywhere on the internet or listed in a library collection (I come from a proud coal mining family and have a lot of empathy for the plight of these independent miners).

COAL KILLS it is time for renewable energy. Coal is poisoning our children and causing global warming. FACE IT COAL IS FILTHY!!!! Coal has my families blood in it. Coal to liquid is snake oil..you say you are taking the nasty stuff out of the coal...well where are you putting that toxic stuff? Educate yourself adn stop the madness.
id like to see them try to run this country without coal... try and run even one of those power plants on renewable energy. i am a coal miner and proud of it!!! dont fuck with my livelyhood...
OK..so tell us what we should use? There is nothing out there that is viable today. Until that changes are you going to disconnect your house from the electrical grid and use candles for light?

Yeah it's the same situation here in Hungary and Romania too.
Gipsy community cannot find work in coal mines because lack of work.
The EU want to close the old mines...
So these impoverished people immigrate to Italy and commit crimes and begging..

You have no idea what you are talking about.
Live in the area for a while and then maybe you'll understand what coal means for the Anthracite Region.
