Ex-Fannie CEO Raines NOT Obama Advisor AOL News, Sep 20th 2008
Despite John McCain's best attempts to tie Barack Obama to discredited ex-Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines in his speech yesterday in Green Bay, Wisconsin and a newly released ad , the Republican candidate instead faces new charges of lying in the face of near-financial disaster for the country to make a false political point. And . . . McCain's staff does its best to inject a racial aspect into the whole shebang
The American people have woken up to Obamas snake-oil BS. I have, too. Perhaps it was Obamas demand that he speak at Germanys historic Brandenburg Gate (JFK and Reagan), or perhaps it was Obama using a quasi-presidential seal; or perhaps it was Obamas implied arrogance when he bragged, I am the one you have been waiting for; or perhaps it was Obama voting Present 130 times as a STATE senator; or perhaps it was the realization that he is a man of little substance beyond his own hubris.
Way back in 2003 MCCAIN was warning Congress for the need to give oversight to Fannie Mae. At this time Obama was still in the Illinois State House, taking in real estate kickbacks from Tony Rezco. Later when Obama made it to the US Senate, he began to line his pockets with payoffs from the Fannie Mae crooks. Obamas economic adviser Franklin Raines was fined 24 million, but still walked away with 94 million. Im sick of that lying Change Change mantra. Spare change for us. I like McCain.
What I really love is the positive tone of this message. That's what we need. The Law of Attraction tells us that whatever we focus on we manifest. We need to stop focusing on what is wrong with the other side and focus on why we support Barack Obama.
usatorsk--about the money. Why arent you complaining about McCain? He has 10x or more the money Obama has. And Obama EARNED his; he also paid for his own student loans. Guess you missed the report that Mrs. McCain was wearing a $300,000 outfit at the convention. Now there is something for you to belly ache about.
Rocky, this is the correct quote: "It's becoming increasingly clear, in my travel, the campaign, that the crowds, the enthusiasm, 200,000 people in Berlin, it's not about me at all. It's about America. I have just become a symbol."
Usatorsk, you have your facts wrong. For the average American, On Katrina Obama sponsored or co-sponsored:
Hurricane Katrina recovery; Working family tax relief, Fair wages for recovery workers, Bankruptcy relief and community protection
McCain: voted against allowing up to 52 weeks of unemployment benefits to people affected by the hurricane; against $28 billion for hurricane relief; against investigating how the government failed after Katrina.
I'm 56 in Louisiana. I've been impressed with Obama since I heard his speech in 2004 at the DNC convention. I knew he had something special then. He is such an intelligent man. What a striking change from the GOP candidates. Obama really gets the whole picture. A true and honest statesman. He also picked a great running mate in Biden.
Please explain to me why you are all infatuated with this man?
He has not sponsored or written one piece of meaningful legislation that has helped the average american. He is a socialist who wants your money, so he can give it to his big government programs. If you want Socialism, move to Scandinavia where my family comes from. $10 per gallon for gas, 40-50% income tax & 25% sales tax. Long lines for medical needs where death is an acceptable form of treatment. I can't wait!
Is that the best you've got? He still a socialist elite lawyer who makes $4 million a year & sends his kids to ultra private schools & has voted for every tax increase that has been proposed.
He worked hard at his success. He made sacrifices to get to where he is financially. I don't expect you to like him since you already made up your mind against him. The polices he proposes economically are better than the other popular choice that is obviously not working.
Yes, I agree, the other popular choice two years ago was for the democrats to take control of both houses of congress. That is obviously not working. Best regards
It would be working if the Democrats had enough of a majority in the Senate to carry a vote but alas the GOP has enough votes to block anything the Democrats bring up. So if we could elect a few more Senators please?
It would be nice if you actually knew how the Congress and Senate works.
Yes, I know exactly how the House & Senate work, federal & state. ( BTW Congress means House & Senate), that is why we are, as Americans, over-taxed, over-regulated & over-medicated.
ng a fellow Phoenician, I ask you to take a short drive north on 19th Avenue between Bethany Home Road and Dunlap (three miles). Virtually every private residence is fenced with chain link temporary fencing and in foreclosure. Some of these houses have never been lived in. This may not mean anything to a kept man like McCain who has 7 houses, but it meant the world to many who no longer have any homes. John and Sarah, we have no use for the two of you.
My Aunt lives in Tucson, I'm gonna forward this to her. She got excited about this election because of Obama and she's worried about my cousin's (who are both girls) and their women's rights.
I am a 58 year old woman from Florida who has never gotten so excited about politics until Obama entered the picture. I actually volunteered at the campaign office in Tampa working on the phones and spoke to people who were 100% behind Obama including one gentleman who was in his 70s who said we need integrity back in the White House and that is what I believe Barack Obama will do!!!!
I am a seventy one years old white-hispanic woman to whom Obama inspires as well. Looking at his story life and reading and listenin him, I concluded he is the President we need in the difficult situation the country faces.
Our nation is in DANGER! We must save our country and world relations but realize the American Dream for a cause higher than your own. McCain/Palin favor war, we are in danger of losing world peace it will be WAR after WAR after WAR. Do you want WW111? Today, China is waiting on the collapse of N.Korea? China #1 military force. Russia, Iran, Pakistan and Afkanistan are our immediate threats. We have limited man power.
I'm supporting a cause higher than my own, I support Obama/Biden
As many of you,I support Obama because I care about the future of my children and grand children.Barack has a good head on his shoulder and an even better heart. He is smart and talented, and his actions speak for themselves. How could anyone be so cynical and sarcastic as to belittle community service, the too few people who REALLY care about others that struggle.....That was the drop for me.....Republicans can go peddle their cr*p elsewhere!
Women of Arizona, this is a great idea and very powerful! Transformational Leaders are few and far in between and Obama is the servant leader of our time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Great Work! Thanks for the video. I'm a 2 year old from Oregon. I support Obama because he is truthful and understands foreign politics much better than the republicans who want to nuke everyone. Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. Obama/Beiden 08
hannahgan - I'm a 38 y.o. Cherokee/Irish/German supporter of Barack Obama. It's great to see other Native American women supporting Obama's campaign. Wilma Mankiller publickly endorsed Obama last week, so we're in further good company.
Barack Obama has the intellectual integrity to tell the truth honestly to the American people. His political nature leads Americans as opposed to the misleading dishonesty of McCain-Bush-Cheney-Rove.
Carl Rove & Lobbyists run McCain's Campaign.
McCain is NOT honest. He acts vengefully & wants War!
Barack Obama, a terrific model of a great father & husband, exactly what our country's young people & citizenry need! I agree with his ideas for healthcare, education, taxes,& foreign policy. VOTE OBAMA!
Barack has the Compassion, Decisiveness, and Intelligence to improve foreign policy and make quality health care and quality education for All! "He is phenomenal."
We know your state as well has these Patriotic Women for Barack Obama. Go for it!
Way to go...I am 53 living in Asheville, NC and there is lots of support here. we need to continue to lead this campaign with integrity and hope the American people will rise to the occasion and elect Obama in Nov.
This is great, ladies! I am a 56 year old registered nurse in Vermont who is sick and tired of the current regime's lies and thievery, which McCain/Palin will continue. "Country First" means caring about ALL citizens, not just big business, the oil industry, those with multiple houses and lots of expensive clothes and cars, and not just for America's involvement in an illegal, immoral war which has bankrupted us.
Obama and Biden and US-We will make it happen! Keep up the good work!
Great work!!! It's great to see Americans coming together to support Obama and believing again. We love our country and believe that Obama can reverse the downward spiral we've been in. I live abroad and our image in the world has really suffered during the past 8 years. I feel proud that we now have a candidate like Obama and will be even prouder when we make him president. We did a voter registration drive here in Rome (search "Vote from abroad: register and ride) Let's all do our part!
Thank you for putting yourselves out there and helping to remind people that our problems are real just like people are real and that the propaganda glits is damaging.
Ladies keep stepping up to the plate and getting your message out there, because we all know that men are not worth a darn without the women of the world. And I'm a man.
I want to believe that Americans can be the good guys again, to the rest of the world as well as to ourselves. Obama makes me feel that this can happen. Thank you, ladies, from a 57-year-old mom and teacher.
Count me in! 51 year old grandmother of two, very hopeful and inspired, thankful for Obama's ability to rally the young, and finally, someone to possibly restore trust in our government again.
Gads what a nightmare: a bunch of weak, fat, ugly, stupid, irrational, American women all sat in the same room.
