You should understand that some people have accents...like Australian...so words sound different, especially when being sung. ;)

treefrog, you should realize that she doesn't have an accent when pronouncing consonants, such as the continuation of the line "her lips sweet surprise". the accents differ in the pronunciation of vowel sounds. she doesn't know the lyrics. it isn't HOLLOW gold, as she sings it. it's HARLOW gold, as in jean harlow, who was platinum blonde. she should learn the lyrics if she's performing the song in competition. please take your advice and try to understand it.

Completely agree. Jesse's version was closer to the original...which in this case is definitely a good thing. This version was way too soft and "airy".

I think the "too soft and airy" thing is probably because of the audio. contestants on aussie idol do not use lapels, unlike that of american idol. which is why they sometimes get a LITTLE bit dominated by the music.
