  • Greta es la divina, una mujer muy de caracter fuerte y liberal , para su epoca era toda una revolucionaria feminista.

  • "Somewhere In TIme"....a perfect piece of music for a timeless lady.

  • If your gonna post an interview on youtube, its kinda helpful to have the interview in the video. dont just be lazy and relink somewhere else.

  • Never seen one of her movies although love old black and white cinema. I guess I must find something. I just read that they are going to put her face on the Swedish money. I think that might be the first time that has happened for an actor? Not a special one off coin but the actual 100 krona banknote.

  • i have to do a report on Greta Garbo so......that is why i am watching this

  • @jjismyname98 how did it turn out? good? get a grade for it, yet? =)

  • @hcvang A+ it wwuz actually kinda fun to do

  • Yeeejj... Greta Garbo are/was from sweden... and I´m swedish.... (crickets in the backgrond) XP

  • @TheChihuahau we feel the same sort of national pride in denmark, with our actors in the USA doing well... Nicolaj Coster Waldau, Thure Lindhardt, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Connie Nielsen... cant help but feel a little proud, being such a small country and having spawned so many great artists, writers and sportsmen.

  • the most beautiful woman who ever lived!

  • She wasn't so much an actress as a presence. One of those people who come along just at the right time. She would not have been as successful today as she was back then. She knew when to quit and why it was necessary. She once said that "there is no longer any place for me in this world." She simply meant her time was over and she needed to stop being Garbo. She was smart.

  • Even tho she was swedish i dont think her face was very scandinavian.

  • Amazing woman and actress !

Greta gave it, her ALL & we love her for it !

    xx Nita

    Thank-you for posting !

  • @jcatcrosslives ..I AGREE..GREATEST ACTRESS OF ALL TIME..and an amazing women. Love ya Greta.

  • Thanks for the info and the photo series of portraits made of this fine actress of that early era of US and European film making.

I think there is a film clip of HER CHARACTER saying; I want to be alone, but it's the film charachter, and she does it so well, dramatically, people also imagine she, as a person said it in real life: the confuse the two. LoL. She was one of the best lady actresses imo; it's a treaure to see her old work, and the skillful film techs and directors she worked with.

  • @Tommy7FilmEpidodes It's Grand Hotel where she said I want to be alone

  • @sanjac07 and don't forget Ninotchka's delightful take-off on the classic line. When asked if she wants to be alone, she says no.

  • I sing about Garbo in The Celebrity Song.

  • Love the music! It's from Somewhere In Time.

Love Greta Garbo too - that music fits her too.

  • lá más bella de su época, su rostro era perfecto

  • in contrast to the deco 1930s optimism. Play this film @ Movie Watcher. US

  • SHE IS SO! BEAUTIFUL!

  • The Riesfield's have always censored Greta's legacy (especially the nephew) by editing and censoring hundreds of letters between her and her life long love Mimi Pollack. They refuse blindly to accept that Greta really was terribly sad, and felt hugely misunderstood. Her love for Mimi and the way in which she refered to herself as a 'yougn man' clearly makes them uncomfortable but instead of accepting the real person she was, they are censoring her life to reflect what they want it to be.Shameful

  • Garbo,la sueca mas bella del cine clasico sin lugar a dudas.

  • What a revealing interview

  • @gcowings lmao!!

  • the icon of the beauty.

  • One of the great events in movie history was when Greta Garbo so reclusive and myserious visited her favorite actress Susan Hayward dying of cancer...to try and bring cheer to Susan.

  • greta garbo , so lovely, so forlorn of a look, like she were looking outside another world.

i loved her work, i though appreciate all my movies in black & white, it relaxes me, plus when my mum would put on a classic, well it was b&w, were all different i guess

  • 1962islander-

YES, I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY, SHE WAS LOVELY, I ALSO LOVE AN OLIE BLACK & WHITE MOVIE!

    -ANNA

  • wow, what an exquisite woman, in a world all aloan, she was so tranquil, so moving & deep!!

perplexing to my mind, yet i adore her & her work!!

    thankyou 4 posting

    xx

  • The most amazing actress...what she and John Gilbert did with a cigarette in The Flesh and the Devil ....probabaly the most sexy moment in Hollywood history.

  • Totally agree! Garbo even her name sounds sexy. She really was a goddess! I love Flesh and the Devil..and the music while they were dancing..,ahhh!!beautiful.They made a perfect couple she and Gilbert.

  • Everyone who says she wasn't such a great actress. You mustn´t forget she did all her parts in a foreign language! But she WAS a pupil at Sweden's most prestigious theatre school. (which also bred pupils like Ingrid Bergman, Max von Sydow, Erland Josephson, Bibi Andersson and Lena Olin.) And she did do some roles in the Royal Dramatic Theatre. (while at the school.) As a Swede I would SO have wanted to see (and hear) her in a Swedish film or play!

  • A great actress...no, but you could forgive anything with that face. She had the most expressive eyes I've ever seen on the screen. I am thankful we can still see her in her glory.

  • am always frustrated because in the black and white movies, I can not appreciate the real young greta garbo in full color.

Well I found her CONTEMPORARY DOUBLE

    check in you tube

    Miss universe 1977 interview

in the 5:50 minute, and grasp your air, when you see miss holland. She is the living portrait of young garbo!!!!!

    even her husky voice!!!

  • She does look very similar but no one will ever match Garbo's lovely eyes.

  • THAT MUSIC IS FROM A MOVIE I JUST CAN'T PLACE IT-

    Anyone know?

    And where is the interview?

  • I think the music is from "Somewhere in Time" - My parents love that soundtrack =)

  • thanks Jessica, I posted the same a while back. It is from "Somewhere in Time".

  • Ha! I noticed that you had already found out as soon as I posted my comment! Glad you found it anyway! :)

  • yes, somewhere in time with christopher reeves & can;t remember her name, great movie & song!

  • Beautiful piano music ... as beautiful as Garbo and thats saying something! Good choice.

Is that a john Barry piece? Out of Africa? maybe.

    xx

  • The music, I found out, is from "Somewhere in Time"-John Williams.

I can't seem to post links here, so write the poster if you want to hear the interview. It is very good, if you are a Garbo film fan.

  • Ahh yes,..I think its from the Time Machine remake with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour... beautful music.

Yes Im a big Garbo fan x

  • it is not exactly a remake but it does have time travel. I loved the music. Garbo fan as well!
