  • Love the Librarian and Horenndous

  • The cat is awesome

  • Great stuff but my favorite is STILL Grizelda.

  • If Billy Van had not died early in his life, I am sure he would have achieved some greater popularity.

    R.I.P.

  • The Librarian was my favorite breakfast cereal

  • The Librarian was my favorite of all. Billy Van was so talented. RIP Billy Van, you made a difference in my childhood. Thank you kabukiwolf for the wonderful memories.

  • this show was so ahead of its time. it doesn't seem date at all

  • "Pussies in the well"

  • Ok, my two older brothers (12 and 14 years older than me) used to TERRIFY me with this show every Saturday morning!!! Now I'm 40 and the Librarian STILL creeps me out! LOL

  • LOL! I absolutely STILL love this show! I remember being a little kid and always waiting week after week to be absolutely terrified..thinking each week "okay this time he's going to scare me" and it never happened but I still held on to hope each week. ROFL!

RIP Billy Van. Thank you SO much for the pleasant childhood memories!

  • lmao

  • Used to love this show, especially this character. What a funny concept and actor. I'm definitely going to sleep with the lights on tonight.

  • @BRGradyTate255 lol xD!!!

  • Unlike many of thee, I watched this show (and LOVED it) as a ("drug-addled") adult!

In Buffalo, CHCH-TV (from Hamilton, ON) was a "local" station.

    Billy Van lives on!

  • Unlike many of thee, I watched this (and LOVED it) as an adult! (Well, in my twenties.)

In Buffalo, CHCH-TV (from Hamilton) was a "local" station.

  • @MrBillski99 I watched from the Buffalo area too!

  • excellent!!!!

  • Wow you held alot of books back in the days.

  • classic! i used to wake up at 6am to watch this on ytv...luuuuvvved it

  • Quack, quack says the ... Duck

  • Yeah, to be honest, when I was a young one, I never got the Librarian either, but now he's awesome :)

  • Quack Quack, says the DUCK! :) Love how his eyes widen when he says that part LOL

  • I love the music for this show :)

  • This show was awesome, I always enjoyed it when I was a kid, the librarian is the man!

  • the Porage is 9 days old, hysterical...

  • I wonder if this is a comment on the ineffectiveness of literature to impact the youth of the 20th century.

  • This was such a good show. And brings back so much memories. It's been over 25 years since I watched this show. Another classic much like G.I. Joe and Transformers.

They should do a show like this again. But then again, nobody will be like Billy Van. He was the best. Portraying 10 characters to perfection. Just awesome stuff. He should've been on SNL or something.

I guess perhaps who could follow in his footsteps are people like Mike Myers, Will Farrel, Ben Stiller, etc.

  • lol i love how he always knocks some books down when it starts...

  • 2:23!!! Freakin hilarious!!!

  • this show is just awesome!

  • do he realy thrink thats scray

  • OMG I remember watching this! I loved it!

  • Haha, I didn't get it as a kid either, but I loved the show anyway. :)

  • Yes... the Hilarious House of Frankenstien... starring, Billy Van, Billy Van... and Billy Van.

I heard he past away about six months ago on the radio.

  • Billy Van was an amazing talent.

  • OOOOHHHH terrifying!! Are frightened yet?

  • my uncle introduced me to this show...librarian was the best...I am suprised there is only 1 post of the librarian skit on the tube...i have every episode of this show on VHS ....Librarian is the best....Billy Van Was a well rounded actor that could play any Character! thanx For Posting :-)

  • Is funny, I always enjoyed scary movies, even though they scared the shit out of me, Vincent Price was always my favorite, the best!!!maybe this is the reason why I can't sleep alone. Lol

  • Yeah I agree. Theater of Blood was kinda scary, but mainly just downright disturbing. Especially when the guy has one of his critics eat his dogs.

  • Thank You for posting this. I lived in NW Ohio when I was a kid. I watched this show a few times and when I got older I wanted to know what it was called. Coul'nt find it until now. (vincent price) Great Stuff!!!!

  • The librarian and Grizelda were both my favourites!

  • Billy Van was such an underrated actor...genius.

  • the library is filled with trapped farts he held all over his librarean career

  • the librarian scared the shit out of me as a kid, thanx for postin this, still scares the shit out of me lol RIP Billy

  • This is good for kids as it is for adults.

  • Oh it brings back such GREAT memories! :)

  • yes i just dont liike the way he call you in,

  • i think this show hypnotizes youu or something

  • Lol at how he pokes polly with the stick, @ 2.22 "quiet!" .

    Hilarious.

  • This man was simply amazing. It definitlly stays in your subconscious. Long live billy

  • I was only in grade school when i watched this but now I realize the true genius behind this.....long live Billy Van

  • Oh,yes, the Librarian was my favorite sketch from the show. And it was a spoof on those who say nursery rhymes and children's stories are horrifying to little children. That came from psychologists who were afraid of their own shadows. Billy Van showed them, LOL!

  • This was my fav! I loved when he yelled at Zanzibar the Castle ghost who always knocked books off the shelves and made a funny laugh, great stuff, glad it's on Space, Drive-In, and TV-Land, too bad there is no Wolfman psychedelic music scenes though :(

  • The Librarian rules! (Reminds me a bit of Lemmy from Motorhead.) Nobody I know seems to remember this show. I grew up in the Detroit area, and we could get this in sometimes. Great to see these clips!

  • wow I almost forgot about this! haha!

  • This was another favorite, and Billy Van should get a star on Canada's walk of Fame..he certainly deserves it. The Librarian tries to scare people but fails to do so everytime.

  • You were truly an amazing man, and touched so many of us playing mostly all of the characters on The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein. Thank you for the memories. The Librarian was my favorite. His introductory music was even scarier than he was.Rest in peace Billy Van.

  • this man was brilliant and will be missed, thanx for posting its all so sad now. xx

  • thanks for posting these!

    awesome...

  • Man, I loved this show. Thumbs up to whoever posted it.

  • I don't think even THE LIBRARIAN was terrified. Still, he managed to turn fables and rhymes into stomach-churning commentary.

  • can you post the one about PLUM PUDDING? :) or do I have the wrong show?

  • The memories of childhood and running home from school, to turn this series on just came flooding back!! I have been trying to remember details of this program for many years - all I could remember up till just now were "sensations" but nothing clearly defined. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Terrifying isn't it? Are you terrified!?

  • Great great TV! thank you for posting

  • classic Billy your a genius

  • This video is not working to bad it's one of my favorites. hope you can fix it.

  • This show was pure Gold.

  • Are you horrified yet? No? Well, you will be in a minute. I have a terrifying one for you!

  • I rememeber watching the librarian and expecting him to fall down everytime he would sit down on the chair and finally, one episode he did ! I laugh my ars off !!

  • Billy Van was the bomb.

  • billy van is ded

  • lol.. this guy creeped me out when i was a kid.

  • LaDracul - that MST3K segment was HILARIOUS LOL

I can't believe there are so many clips of this show online! Awesome! LOL

  • Hahah! The librarian was the shit! Used to creep me out as a kid, but now I can't stop laughing!

  • "Are you ready now, for your daily session of fear..." LOL !

  • This reminds me of that MST3K where they're reading the childrens books which are filled with unimaginable horrors...except for "Dr. Terror's Orgy of Blood", which is a nice little tale of a picnic. XD

  • Is that what David Lee Roth is gonna look like in 30 years?

  • He looked like that 10 years ago!
