  • I have one more question if thats ok, I just cant seem to get the BullGrader in Gear. I think it has 4 Gears that you can shift into, but for some reason it wont let me put it in gear and i dont want to force it to hard to the point of brakeing it. and its the same setup as your TD-6 but mine has an extra lever thats attached right to the side of the trasmition next to the Stick Shift. any idea why it wont let me in gear?

    Thank You Very Much

  • Hi, I have a TD-14A Bull Grader when I switch to diesel should i shut the gasoline off like ive been doing so it dose not mix with the diesel or dose it take in gas when its on diesel?

    Thanks

  • @RailRoadWorker18

No, you shouldn't have to shut off the gas when you switch the tractor to diesel. The gas is shut off and spark plugs are grounded when you move the compression lever to the diesel position.

  • @BoredIowaBoys There's also a linkage that pushes the float in the carb so no gas should be sucked in,even if the "flapper thingy" leaks a little.

  • I have a really slick old TD-6 for sale if anyone is looking for one.

  • Very sweet running machine!

  • Very sweet... starts and runs much better than the old TD 14 I used to operate as a young man..

  • i was reading in our owners manaul that the engine should idle for awhile if worked hard but not swiched back over to gas because if the engine is hot it can warp the popit valves in there i was wondering if anyone has any exprience with this

  • @joeyteamxracing

You should always switch your gas over diesels back to gas when on shut down mode...great way to crack a head or further damage...

  • Where is the hand crank. We have one just like it and until the 90's it was hand crank started.

  • damn thats nice! i dont see enough of these around anymore!

  • Where can u buy a used TD-6 i'd love one?

  • Beautiful crawler. Great video. Thank you!

  • Very nice tractor.

  • You should take her to the Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. My family and I go every year.

  • Thanks you for posting this video!

An important part of the sequence is the shutdown procedure.

It helps to "idle down" the engine at the end of the day rather than suddenly stopping a hot engine.

Less likely to crack the head if the engine has been operating at a heavy load!

A lot of people are unaware of how these old "gas start" diesel engines operate too.

  • @OzzInter Agreed

  • And here I thought mine ran good...... What a great running 6!!
