Normally death occurs due to old age. The older the Tiger or Lion the less likely they will be to establish new territory or take over another Pride if they're driven off by a challenger. Therefore they are more likely to withstand punishment in hopes of warding off a challenger, sadly such as this case they most often sustain serious wounds that lead to death. All things remaining equal someone will back-off and wait to fight another day.

Both species are territorial and will defend it against rivals. Whether the fight is to the death or not depends on the stakes. If territory with prey is scarce, death will be at the rendez-vous. If territory is plentiful (not the case nowadays specially for tigers), they'll just size each other up. The bigger wins without a fight or by by just roaring louder.

Both species are territorial and will defend it against rivals. Whether the fight is to the death or not depends on the stakes. If territory with prey is scarce, death will be at the rendez-vous. If territory is plentiful (not the case nowadays specially for tigers), they'll just size each other up. The bigger wins without a fight or by by just roaring louder.

Actually rather little and Inconclusive Evidence exists to suggest which is superior, a Male Tiger or a Male Lion. A full Blooded Royal Bengal Male Tiger or Siberian Tiger can easily knock a male lion down. There has been NO proper documentation or study on the respective Agility and Instincts involved in fights, which in a Batlle of Superwights is what differentiates a Predator from the Prey.

Nepal tiger: 235 kg, tigress: 140 kg
Siberian tiger: 225 kg, tigress: 127 kg
Recent weight of Siberian tiger captured in Siberian tiger project is even lower, no female exceeds 145 kg, no male over 227 kg. The largest Nepal tigress captured 164 kg, one more from Nagarahole, south India 177 kg!

Both Madla and Hairyfoot come from Panna reserve, central India. They live in a prey-scarce environment, yet they develop weightlifters' physiques. No wild Siberian tigers match their size. Madla has a neck girth of 90cm, notbaly larger than the neck of the 270 kg Nepal tiger(80cm) captured in 1975. Looking at his pic, I personally think he's no less than 300 kg. A true powerhouse!
And Hairyfoot is even notably larger!!!

Tigers are bigger and stonger than a lion. They have to be because they are solitaire hunters unlike lions who hunt with the pride.

lionowns c ur wrong lions rarely fight 2 the death they fight less than 10 times there whole life tigers fight more than that they fight other tigers and bears. They r by far more powerful, faster, agile and smarter than lions in fights thats y theyve dominated them since the colluseum soz man but u shd luk in 2 things b4 u comment
