  • See this is muscle at it's best, music nowadays is just shit and you can't ignore or forget the greatest hits of the past 30 years, the music written today is just appalling

  • this is just top class.

  • Timothy smith of the eagles is playing bass and you said it. He is one bad mother on a bass. :)

  • How's playing bass on this show?? He's a beast whoever it is.

  • @metalheart80s timothy b schmidt

  • Wow, Don Henley's voice is so clean and melodic, he has not lost one bit of it all these years. One Hell of a singer

Ps sorry if My spelling isn't all correct . Love that song and in a new York minite.

  • WOW, seems like yesterday...but really what happened to the 90s?

  • @badcompany009 if you were younger you would know that the ataris made this song into a decent rendition. and that it was a very memorable song for kids of the early 2000's.

  • Three people have no taste whatsoever....

  • @b44ts your a twat !!!

  • @das664 Why do you say that ? You seem to have been on the site looking at it ...

  • @b44ts Dude I know really! I looked at that and I'm like who the hell disliked this... I'll need a sniper rifle, a pack of smokes and a soda, I'll be sniping them in their house.

    BMG Music

    Universal Music Group

Polygram all this drop all the big bands for the 80s case they wanted new sounds they was dumb for that this happen in 91 they drop the deals on im all the same time

  • @hto1971 yea they're steel the best!

  • look! it's fake Don Felder!

  • awesome....

  • How could the Ataris be allowed to cover this? Does anyone else find it oxymoron-ish that soemone as young as them covered it?

  • @badcompany009 I think Don Henley is part of the eagles

  • Traumnummer!!

  • Geil!

  • Thank you - we are gone

  • where did the 90s go

  • @rabricci2 you mean 80's right?

  • Comment removed

  • @rabricci2 Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" was 1984 and The Ataris cover was 2003. I've never liked The Eagles and they murdered this song ( even though it was an Eagles guitarist on Henley's initial albums ). Watch the 80's video.

  • @MrAgmoore it keeps getting pulled off YouTube. Copyright infringement, etc., etc. I, too, love the original video!

  • @rabricci2 This song came out in 1984 -___-

  • @AdamJLemon Damn I'm old!

  • lo mejor

  • The Ataris version is much better.

  • @phaelstrife Which is why you're horrid opinions in music mean nothing to anyone.

  • @phaelstrife listen to the studio version of this song by the eagles.. way better then ''the ataris''

  • LIKE!!!

  • Why aint Joe playing lead guitar - they sack Don Felder and Joe cant play lead, what the hell is going on?????

  • All I can say as I expected with these guys Excellents of Exacution

  • Saw them on this tour in S.C. and it was electric! Balanced, clear, and dead-on. You felt like you'd been to see master musicians...not just a band! It wasn't cheap, but was well worth the money and this is just one of my many favorites. Takes me back to late summer days at the lake soon to be deserted and quiet as the blanket of winter would soon replace the blankets of summers on the beach.

  • can't beat their harmonies. no one can beat their harmonies

  • I love every word but seeing the Eagles live...nothing like it. Wish I saw this one!

  • does he always sing it lower these days?

  • Just brilliant!!!!!!!! :) Love it! :)

  • make the most of this video while you can! no doubt it will soon be blocked due to FCUK copyrights

  • Love the song..love the Eagles..love the vocals. BUT Mr.Henley..

    Lose the guitar..

You make Elvis look like Don Felder.

  • So true......music speaks, not flash makeup etc

  • @paxpaul

You are very right - few artists sound as good live as in studio. U2, Dire Straiats, Bowie, Fleetwood Mac are some I have seen

  • @robertrichards777 It's because these artists are more interested in their music and NOT in how to look on the camera or what to wear on stage.

  • Felder should be there!!!

  • @42Redbear Yep...Felder should be there!

  • you will never get better then this,....... truly one the best great artists

  • Tight.

  • One of the best Songs ever

  • Saw him at the Santa Barbara Bowl in September, believe it or not I think he performed this song even better that night. Very memorable show, great performer, he far exceeded my expectations. If you get the chance, don't miss him!

  • What year was this?

  • yeah if you have dvd it sounds like hell - great quality indeed :-))

  • You know..It doesn't get much better than this. An awesome band doing an awesome song.

  • I saw these guys in Denver last year, they've been doing it for 40 years and they've still got it!

  • Love this song so much, great live performance!

  • Great audio and video in HD

  • Saw this group in Vegas on 11/5. INCREDIBLE! Don Henley and Glen Frey sounded as good as ever. Don't miss your chance to see them as I think they'll do something in 2012 for their 40th anniversary. Wow....I don't know of any contempary band that can touch them..

  • Justin Biber disliked this

  • brilliant live version

  • I love this song, awesome video. Thanks

  • Por favor!! que alguien los traiga al Peru!!!

  • God The Eagles were so talented.

  • @51Thundersticks

    They ARE.

  • @51Thundersticks are so talented.

  • Amazing song, amazing playing, appearance ... Epic!!

  • My favourite song of all time. Still can't be beaten!

  • WOW - What insanely impeccable playing (ala pink floyd)

    ABOUT THIS SONG-

FROM WIKI= the song's most famous lyric: "Out on the road today I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac."

RUMORED that this line was inspired by Henley seeing Joe Walsh driving a Cadillac Hearse with a Grateful Dead sticker on it while on Sunset Boulevard, despite Walsh's 1978 driver's license revocation.

  • my favorite song

  • Joe Walsh has so much fun up there ! What a performance, all those guys deliver such a great harmony.

Hard to believe that nowadays kids pay to see a DJ play a recorded track at a live event. Fuck 'em , it's their lose!

  • the guitarist who is not famous is amazing!

  • Na meg hogy szólnak élőben!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Apém! Ezek a vén pasik mit tudnak!!! Szenzésön!!

  • is he saying blue skin in this song?

  • @NamIsIll borwn skin. "I can see you, borwn skin shining in the sun..."

  • @NamIsIll yeah! hes referring to a extraterrestrial experience he had back in the 60's.

  • a few octaves higher please don. ;)

  • I love the guitarsolo at the end, just how he changes it a little bit from the original. brilliant :)

  • Who's the "hired gun" guitar player on the far right? I don't recognize him. Great player though! Great SONG!

  • @swiggy58a The guy on the right was Don Felder

  • @Glue14621 Don Felder had already left the band by this point - the Guitarist in this performance is Steuart Smith.

  • @kovski2 I knew if I gave the wrong answer someone would correct me. either way thanks for the answer.

  • Wow, what a voice, sounds just like the original clip, fantastic

  • Who`s the mentally challenged individual that disliked it?

  • I love this song. I had just left high school when this came out.

  • @manweller1 whats it like? to like listen to songs like this from when you were young? is it sad?

  • Fanatastic deep voice of Don Henley. This song is ever lasting you can listen again & again.

  • choooooooooooooooooon

  • Damn...this is bitchin' music !!! check out ol' Joe Walsh jumpin' around...these dudes will ALWAYS be GODS !

  • jesus his voice is good, people half his age can't sing that well!!

  • can't believe music has gone from don henley and the eagles to lady gaga/justin bieber.

  • @Stormy2021 Bieber is complete shite, totally agree to that. But if Brian May (of Queen) and Elton John can embrace Gaga, I can accept her too.

  • Cant stompin my foot..

  • great

  • Awwwesome DON, those drums sound BEAST..

  • @peteski321 Don Henley is singing and playing the guitar here:P

  • @pilgorden Urrrm i know :P

  • oh..my god

  • Reminds me of High School.

  • Why is Mr. Henley pretending to play a Telecaster when he should be in the engine room? I love this song, but Don Henly NOT on drums is just wrong.

  • @mcmikel61 It doesn't look to me like he's pretending. I think he's playing root chords on the chorus. Having said that, I agree it's seems weird for him not to be on the drums. But I don't begrudge any drummer who is a lead singer getting out of his cage and being front man and wandering the stage once in a while.

  • For yrs we all wondered what thr solo stuff would sound like if Eagle'ized. All thr solo stuff was basically Eagles to begin with it all just came home eventually.

  • This is an almost PERFECT example of how an artist should play their hit songs live in concert. It was damn near spot on with the album version. Too many artists deviate away from the way they recorded it in the studio and it loses some of the spark. Most of the time the fans just want to hear it the way it sounds on the radio or the album.

  • @daillmeskin That's the one thing I hated about seeing The Eagles live: They play their songs TOO much like the records. It wasn't a concert, it was a greatest-hits package performed live with no improv or changes or note. It was still great, but when I go to a concert I want to hear a LIVE version that doesn't just imitate the studio version. Same with Fleetwood Mac: Seeing them live was a letdown because it was JUST like the records.

Why go to a concert if you want EXACTLY the studio tracks?

  • @paxpaul We each have our preferences. Really I was just talking about the really big songs that everyone knows. The lesser ones it could be whatever you know?

  • @paxpaul

Many artists CAN'T sound as good live as in studio, only the real good one does.

  • @wolw66 so true

  • @paxpaul

That's what you get with The Eagles. If you went going thinking you'd get something different you're a fool. They put on one hell of a show. Best sound quality you'll ever hear.

  • @daillmeskin

why not just stay home and listen to the radio or album then?

  • @LarkeSongs Cause I don't want to.

  • @daillmeskin

or just buy a live album

  • I'll never forgive the Eagles for making Frodo walk into Mordor

  • @trapper439 LOL

  • inconparable ,, adoro esta cancion

  • my love for you will still be stroung after the poison has gone..... *___*

  • masterpiece :)

  • no dislikes (Y)

  • my favorite ever!

  • Masterpiece!

  • If you want an account of the Eagles years, just buy Don Felder's book' HEAVEN AND HELL. He tells it like it is. Henley and Frey were very talented but also very hard to work with. Leadon and Meisner left because they couldn't/wouldn't deal with the stress that DON and GLEN put on them. It's that simple.

  • @dragonattack01, this is what happened basically: Bernie Leadon (original guitarist/banjo player left the band because he hated how Glen and Don (Henley) were controlling freaks who were very hard to deal with. Randy Meisner (original bass player) felt the same way and leff the band. Don Felder joined in 1974 and actually wrote the music for HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Don Henley wrote the (amazing) lyrics for the song. If you YOU TUBE their induction into the RRHOF you can see true feelings.

  • Never saw this and it kicks ass

  • After all these yrs. still sooo good for the ears...loved to watch the orginal clip on the "old version of" MTV.

This was really one of the best songs of the era ,-)

Tks. for the share ... 5 stars

  • Goodddd !!!

  • yo this is so epic

  • Being British always wanted to hear this song in a convertible driving along the coast of California .. Might not get to do it but will always be my favorite song
