@loveonwheels202 The thing that stops the trip counter is your forward momentum, you´re not staying there upruight with the underhook, but you start to drive him backwards so he can´t trip you since that would require both of you moving in the opposite direction
@KingColt1985 i see what your saying, and yes ideally you're in constant motion, but if for whatever reason you're stalled, it leaves you rather vunerable... not a bad thing to have in your bag of tricks, but just doesn't seem too practical or efficent
This is really useful and cool, thanks! So easy to forget that wrestling, judo and bjj actually come from entirely different perspectives. This just made me sub to Sub101 channel!
Yet another interesting and informative grappling vid from sub101. Brilliant as always, keep up the good work. The best grappling instructional channel on youtube? Probably!
Realllllly diggin' these wrestling videos. Such a good Idea to start off with just standing clinch work, then build on the takedowns afterwards. Nice job guys!
Does this guy give anyone else the Creeps or what? And why does he take so long to explain everything, oh I get it that's how he takes you down first he puts you to sleep by talking, then he waits till you fall over and then jumps on you LMAO!!
@OrpheNaruto The whole point of unbalancing the opponent (head to chest, not waist) and quickly taking him down is to avoid the opponent having a chance to defend. See careful grasshopper and you learn.
maybe it's just me but seems like there's a point where u're left rather vunerabe to an inside trp...

Same here. I always pull guard. I need to really improve my takedowns. I will practice this one.

Can we see what the entire take down looks like(ie go all the way to the ground?) and learn how to position ourselves in the fall?

u guys shouldve made a different channel. one for wrestling and one for grappling
koralen08 7 months ago
@koralen08 You basically need wrestling to grapple. Unless your strictly Judoka. Or a pull-guard pro. Why separate the two?
RickMerchantttt 7 months ago
It's not one of the best choices to take down an enemy cos u'd eventually get punched while you're grabbin the leg.

@Submissions101 Should I still keep my head on his chest to off balance him even in a submission grappling scenario where chokes are available?
