Dude, before you teach, how's about respecting the genre you are teaching with the correct history? For example, James was pre-Motown and Sly Stone wasn't in James' band ALSO your wau-wau foot really should master a timed sweep not random sweeping

Pre-Motown is a genre (pronounced shahnrah) for guitarist like me. Bo Diddley by Diddley also became huge hits with the "1". There are simply too many songs that were funky BEFORE James said his first "hit me." Accepting the hype allows you to not search for the truth. Yes JB was a huge success so we're still talking about him but FUNK did NOT begin with JB, NOR does it end with GC. A teacher has a duty to learn the history and not gloss it over. If not, NEVER charge for a "lesson.",,,,,,

If you're going to teach a guit style, at least be halfway decent with that style. This guy kinda ignored the most important element to funk playing: FEEL. And it shows. Hopefully his other lessons are better, cause this is pretty mechanical.

Marty Schwartz has much better lessons on this style, IMO.

@Nuzubaki Well, it depends on what's "soo expensive" for you. In my cas,e i went for a second hand as my first guitar, so that way i could get a beginner guitar better than the average for the same price. But if you have a little bit more of money, you can go for the Fender Stratocaster (or Telecaster, depends on you) made in Mexico, which costs around 400 dollars. It is a great guitar and you can keep it even when you become a expert.

@putblameonmame Start off with basic triad chords on the G to high E strings, and if you're feeling plucky add in the D string. Good song to learn is Good Times by Chic. It's a disco song, but it has a good funk guitar part to learn in it that's pretty simple.
