@ParagOn Give it the fuck up man! There are people (many people) who suffer from crippling pain EVERY minute they are alive! And these drugs hardly cut into such pain, merely providing a buffer so a semi-normal life is achievable. I am proud of your bravery in the face of mind-numbing pain. Wait, I'm not. Only an undereducated, entitled fool would criticize others' choices without having such experiences. I wonder why do I waste my time with this? You don't exist in my reality or probably at all
eh...that's why it's also called "laughing gas" and it's perfectly normal for some people. Later you usually don't remember the part you were on the gas, for obvious reasons...better to laugh than cry!
@Parag0n you are clearly uneducated and ignorant......do a quick google search on gas & air in labour and you will see its perfectly safe, anything that aids a woman in labour and does not harm the baby is acceptable in my book
@icemaiden12345 It's unessential, it's something that the US does. Americans seems to have a chronic condition where any "Pain" requires IMMEDIATE relief.
The USA is the NUMBER #1 prescription consumer of, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Codeine, Dihydrocodeine, Fentanyl, Hydromorphone, Suboxone, Alprazolam, Clonazepam, Diazepam, and that's a short list.
Known as; Oxycontin, Dilaudid, Vicodin, Durogesic, Subutex, Xanax, Klonopin, Valium.
Why do Americans consume benzos/opiates like candy?
@Parag0n For the record... Im English.. not American!!!! Always have been! Also like to say i had to have an epidural for an emergency c section later in this labour as the cord was stopping my son from breathing. see the bigger picture please people.. i was in labour.. is was amazing and fun... then it was horrid... but i have a healthy son.. and THAT is the best thing that could have happend! Dont judge what you dont know! Plonka!
@Parag0n ahhh.. what lovely words. This was the safest option for my child considering the pain i was in. things got much worse for me during that labour & i was prepped for an emergency c section. I was lucky he stayed alive. This video is a wonderful memory of my labour as opposed to remembering the fear and pain that came later. And for the record... I dont swear around my children. you need to get your facts right, as laughing gas doesnt make me a whore or a C:!*T! Hold your vile tongue!

The US is getting ready to reintroduce laughing gas as an option during labor, hopefully by this summer. Epidurals definitely have more chance of harming the baby rather than laughing gas! The only places in the US to offer it right now are San Francisco and Seattle.
The reason it's not offered in the US is because hospitals make more money from epidurals... and epidurals often lead to caesarean sections..... which make more money for the hospitals .... Are you sensing a theme? Lol
Lmao I was like this in labour and as for it not being safe and only being used in the uk I would say that must be because we obviously have higher pain thresholds as it does not take away the pain lol it seem over in America your answer to pain relief is to just get a epidural ...
if it was safe they'd offer it here in the US if you've noticed most of the videos using laughing gas while in labor are all in the UK. no wonder you guys are a little bonkers. haha

@RosaLaMasHermosa21 I was just catching on to them all being Britons. I really don't feel like this would be safe but I also don't feel like the UK would allow something unsafe in modern medicine. Either way, it's a bit disturbing to see a 'high' pregnant woman lol.
I would just like to clarify for those who think this may have harmed my baby, that it did in fact do NO HARM at all!!!
This was my third time in labour. With my first 2 children, the gas and air had the opposite effect. i was very sick with it. However, for some reason... i was in utter hysterics with the third child. Made labour a much more enjoyable experience... and no... i do not do drugs, so no... it was not an excuse to get high!
not at all. infact its the best thing to take in labour. safter for you and baby then pethadine or epidural. if it was bad for baby then it would not be given to women in labour
epidurals can cause problems too. The mother can have a headache (for up to a year afterwards). I think it has something to do with dehydration due to spinal fluid leakage at lumbar puncture site. Obviously this fluid does not clot.
Lol i was on that i was like mmmmm this is some good shit doc where did u get it lol
