This is the first time I have heard your version. I loved the ensemble version, the emotion everyone provided, enhancing the imagery and emotion from your own wonderful lyrics. Both the video and songs are perhaps more moving than any country song I've ever heard.
This song is absolutely the best song of 2010. It touches my heart every time I hear it and brings tears to my eyes. There is something seriously wrong with producers and labels if it does not win every award possible this year.
this song when i first heard it, it just hit me like a ton of bricks, especially when they showed the old man being helped by the soldier and the Opry underwater
I'm unable to sadly donate but I'll show this on other sites that I have an account on as well as my featured vid to see if my friends and watchers can help!
Who are all the artists? I got Daniel Peck, Emma Jacobs, Kate and Kacey, Pam Tillis, Sarah Darling, Victoria Banks, Jesse Lee, but I'm lost after that. Really awesome video though :)
Holy shit, I didn't even KNOW this happened. This is terrible, Nashville is a GREAT city, I hope the people can put their lives back together. Everyone's praying for you allI'm sure!
Whooa, UR good Victoria! 1st time I've heard U. I bet Ucan get some real good deals on those boats that floated away from Bass Pro - yea, like free, if Ucan find 'em. I'm not making fun of the people who lost everything. I came real close 2losing what I've got left of my life. If I had put everything in storage down in the lower lying areas where it's more convenient 2get2 all mystuff wouldhavebeen under water. Fortunately I chose a storageunit in the hills 2yrs ago just in case of a flood.
This disaster is also a teachable moment, even with the pain so fresh.
.
It may be poetic justice that the South is lined up to receive much of the worst effects of global warming -- as it harbors NASCAR culture and so much denial of climate science. Severe and bizarre weather will become more frequent and intense as a direct result of increased heat and moisture in the atmosphere.
.
Consider this storm as an epic traffic stop, with Mother Nature as the cop: "Step away from the car!"
Brilliant, touching, heartfelt, evocative, humane and inspirational! My friend Christine just told me you were on the Road with her friend Tom at the time. I hope that you and yours survived unscathed.
Thank you for a brilliant song of struggle, resilience and triumph!
Victoria, that is an amazing song. One of the most moving pieces I have ever heard. Surely God was in your heart when these words came to be. "Don't give up..."

Great song Victoria... I'm a frequent visitor to Nashville. The pix break my heart. Thankfully you nasville people are putting this all over Facebook. The media has failed to get the message out.
This is extremely moving, Victoria. I've been a fan of your writing for years, and I only hope that this song and video reaches the biggest audience possible. Thanks for posting it. I've added the link to the Nashville Needs US Facebook group as well.
FANTASTIC SONG Victoria! It's wonderful seeing the kind of support the entertainment world as well as the general public have been showing since the Nashville flood. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. :)
Victoria..Congratulations! You were obviously very inspired. Nashville was home for a number of years. It pains me to see it like this but it inspires me to see the passionate desire to rebuild quickly.
Great song and you have a beautiful voice. I'm a Predators fan who sadly has never been to Nashville but hope the recovery for you and everyone goes well.
Shout out from Chicago--this song is an eloquent tribute to a beautiful, resilient City. Tennessee will emerge strong and continue to be our nation's City of Dreams.
This song is beautiful! I agree Victoria - the images of Nashville's legendary spots speak volumes to those outside of the state. Yes, the damage is far reaching and painful. Let's hope that those around the country will see this and keep us in their thoughts, prayers but more importantly in their decisions to give generously.
I'm glad the song is moving you, folks! Must apologize for the lack of pics from Bellevue and elsewhere in TN - we live downtown and my sweetie took most of these pics personally (aerial & Opry pics are from the Tennessean, a couple others from friends). I chose to focus mostly on my own metro Nashville experience in hopes that the images of our famous landmarks under water will be just as shocking and inspiring to others as they were to me.
The catastrophic damage goes far beyond Nashville. The national medias coverage has been weak at best, and their depiction of this event as the Nashville Flood falls short, essentially ignoring the other 5o plus counties impacted. This is the Tennessee flood of 2010. The rebuilding process for the state will be costly, difficult, and lengthy. Outside help will be needed. Please help spread the word that not only has this event ravaged Nashville, it has devastated our state. We are Tennessee.
Loved this song, but am dissappointed in the use of stock photos from The Tennessean mostly of downtown and Opryland Hotel. I think I saw one photo of Bellevue/West Nashville where the flood was horrendously worse. Thanks for sharing.
thank you for this<3 that city has been my dream since I was 14 I'm 27 now. & with all that is happened...breaks my heart! but makes my heart smiles when I see everyone coming together like this for a city & it's people WE LOVE<3
whats happened in nashville is so sad and i hope that it gets the coverage from the media that it needs because its going to take alot to get it back the way it was.

This song validates my hunch that a disaster in a musical place like Nashville will have a great soundtrack.
Outstanding work, Ms. Banks.
