I hate to tell you, but I worked in Calexico, CA, and if you look a a map, the New River which comes from Mexico and empties into the Salton Sea is the most polluted river in North America. Trucks dump tons and tons of raw sewage from Mexico into the river each day and it flows into America and into the Salton Sea. Whenever testers come out to test the water they are in full hazmat suits. See the comment below for more info.
