I play on medium w/ keyboard and I had no problem. Change all interceptors and Alpha wing to Hercs while you fly bomber. When I played even the Orff survived.
I remember playing this with my dad; either he or I would be on the joystick, dogfighting, while the other managed weapons and shields, and whatever else was used...
the hades is almost as big as colossus... and it only took at most 1-2 yrs to build... .... kinda sad that Colossus with /more/ people working on it... took 20 years. what were they doing? taking lunch breaks every 10 minutes?

also.. on the hades... I was just a dumb kid so rather than coming up with a tactic to disable lokis or anything... I just avoided them by crouching down in the big ridge on the bottom of the hades' midsection... I just spent forever pummeling the hull with my guns... I eventually finished it after pounding away at it forever.
This is awesome. Could someone please tell me all about this SCP thing and how I can get it? Also, tell me if I need freespace or freespace 2 or both? I would like to get this so I can play freespace without any errors, unlike the copy I own right now.
Heh, I remember this mission. When the Big Ship came in I got sick of all the Lokis constantly spawning so I reloaded and game in backing disruptor missiles. Once the Lokis were hit with those they were disabled and since they were not dead no more respawn. So we could all gather round and blow up the ship in peace :D
jeeeez, man, no offence, but you are kinda weak... you take down fighters so slowly... w/e, i did it alot faster and with easy. (on 4/5 difficult level)
my jostick broken about 6 months ago, and i didt buy another one yet, but is posible to fly using the keyboard, i have changed the config to use the arrows, intead of the numpad.
is just a matter of strategy and play your cards well...
For example... I order everyone to ignore the Hades, then, only Epsilon to attack it, the Lokis will always target Epsilon, so you and Iota can take them down easily.
But is also important the first part, is VERY important to destroy the station BEFORE your reinforcements arrive, Beta will die very soon, because the Lokis from the Hades always target Beta first, so the speed is very important.

man i can beat this thing on hard being a fighter.and no cheats. pure ai fighters. fairly easy, just sit in one spot and shoot. take ya bout 10 minutes, i remember on multiplayer this was a very poplular mission to play. FUN TO! end up with 60 loki kills at end.:) and what kkind of mod is this, its wierd, the music is fs1, and the explosions are all like, cool.

This mission was so hard. All my wingmen were foddered and I remained in a lone Ursa, being attacked by the GTD Hades and legions of fighters..

I play this mission from time to time. It's simple, and it lets me dogfight around a superdestroyer, which is cool.

that is some effective use of countermeasures.
best combo of all time was the Prometheus and Banshee lasers. very efective. using mouse was a bitch though.

It's not that hard... just keep your bombers alive. I've completed it both as a bomber pilot and as a fighter pilot.
Eagerly awaiting Silent Threat: Reborn and seeing what they've done with this mission!
