Now, if i could only find "Oh Bumbo Klaat" by the late, great, Peter Tosh, but maybe not. The lady screener at Caribbean-type radio station in Miami told me, when I requested "Bumbo," "O-oh no, Sah, I can-
not play dat one! It has profanity in it! I am sorry, Sah!" She was very sweet about it.. I only heard it on a juke box at the popular dive, Kitty's Bar, in Daytona Beach, back in the "80's. Enjoyed the arrangement, but never understood the lyrics. Kitty's is long gone. Try Crooks'.
there was a show or movie and at the end there were i think one or two songs that sting did, one was like on a bus and it was animated. can some please help me on this one.
i would like to know who the artists were? The two videos i remember were Sting's and AHA's Artists were overdrawing film then. And it is very cool. Time to do it again, or malybe it is being done as we speak?
Played 'dream of the blue turtles' lp daily ...this being my first choice of all Sting's tunes. Recorded it among many of that eras memorable tunes on cassette. Remember that medium??? Sheesh, Technology is exponentially more progressive than duruing the previous generation.
"Good grief Linus," been flying toward 'higher ground' along with Steve Winwood in Traffic since the onset of the 'Beatle generation.' Am grateful too for 'the Police' bringing pop into the 'new wave' era of the 80's.
Released in November 1985 off his first solo album which fit in the now limited pop scene. Song reminds me of someone special. Hope you life is wonderful, Michelle.
Watch the movie "Papillion" with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. It's about a man trying to escape from an island prison. In order to escape, he has to jump off a cliff into the ocean. Through months of observation, he discovers that every 7th wave is bigger than the other six. Only that 7th wave is deep enough to prevent him crashing into the rocks below. Translation, love is the only thing that can free you from whatever existential prison you are in.
I googled seventh wave. In the surf, the largest wave is the seventh and it wipes out the other six. I cannont confirm, I don't live near the ocean. But I do love the imagery. He's a poet.
its a surfing term, its something like the last wave in a group of seven is the strongest of them all, basically Sting is saying that love is more powerful and more important than anything else
The tactic of the True Ruling Elite (NWO) is to keep us DIVIDED - using RACE, ECONOMIC STATUS, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, etc... If the people of the world could put that aside long enough to just come together FOR THE PURPOSE OF FREEDOM AND FREE-WILL OF EVERY HUMAN BEING, this would be a completely different world for all of us. We are humans - NOT SLAVES to corporations, politicians & RULERS. Listen to Alex Jones & COME TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF MANKIND & YOUR CHILDREN. FIGHT THE NWO.
Where can I find ALL the lyrics. This must still be a work in progress...there's so many different versions. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I purchased the cassette (well actually my mother did) when I was 10. I cant believe its been that long ... however Stings tunes - Timeless .... Every cake you bake ... every leg you break !!
Our mutual love is like a strong sea wave... like the Ocean that separates us right now, My Lovely Princess... But it is also not an obstacle to Both Of Us, My Dearest... I love You so much, My Beautiful Queen...
I prefer the version on Fields of gold greatest hits, it sounds more of the same rhythm; it hasn't got a weird bit in the middle. The kids at the end really go with the animation. I was waiting for them. I thought this song was about a girl not Cold War's!
This is the BEST sting solo effort EVER!!! The Dream of the Blue Turtles. If you are trying to catch up with Sting's amazing career or a first time listener, you must buy this CD. I was devastated by the break up of The Police but after hearing this album it didn't take me long to recover and discover that "Gordon Sumner" was meant to go solo.
His songs normaly have some deep meaning behind the words... In this one he just puts it right out in the open... Get it people... Treat eachother better and let love conquer us all...
Muito legal as crianças neste video dá uma vida toda especial a esta canção, de muito bom gosto, principalmente no final com todas elas cantando junto com Sting, valeu, bela música, um reggaezinho muito bacana!
thankfully a lot of them are musicians and artists. Sting, like Jimi Hendrix in interviews, is absolutly in tune with the human condition. Maybe it's all the touring, they see the World travelling a lot. John Lennon too, Imagine that, imagine this;

talking about....

Oh contrare mon frare (how's that francois).
This is easily one of the most critical songs of our times (and had been since its inception).
The notion that we all proceed as one humanity rather than futile nation states is the very message we absolutely need.
Consider this yet another snowflake in my effort to get 'us' off square one.

Yes, that's brilliant :) And after "every cake you bake" there's also one more line, but it's almost inaudible.

"Every breath you take
every move you make
every cake you bake
every leg you break" :)
It's wonderful after all.

I posted this before - remeber this was prior to 'Mr. Gorbachev break down this wall'
This messsage of peace is truely timeless and yet clearly poinynat to thhis generation
The ending of the video tells the ultimate story we all need to walk away with so that 27 generations from now our ancestors are proud of us.
I will also note I can not spell to save my life - so I appologize for the misspelled words.

This song is circa 1986...
It was amazingly relevant in the last throws of the cold war.
It should also (IMHO) be the rallying cry of all people under the age of 25 all over the globe.
It is also a well constructed video for the 1980's.
