Magic wand, and click the white on your name. Then go to gradient tool. After enough speculations, you can see how the gradient tool is done, and soon later you should be able to do that without the gradient tool. Instead, using a pencil.

Damn YT wouldn't let me reply to this for sometime. Anyway, it could possibly be the image hosting site you use. Like images coming from my Photobucket account can't be used as Xat avatars. I dunno why. After placing the link of the picture I wanna use on Tinyurl . com , it works. Try something like that.

Yea, you gotta make sure the background is all White+Gray squares, along with saving it as .PNG.

After you highlighting the parts you wish to be glowing, copy and paste it into a new layer without moving it. After that, add "Gaussian Blur" (Adjustments < Blurs Gaussian Blur) to the new layer, and make the Layer Blending mode to Additive (Double click on the new layer to open up the new window that allows to modify it's layer blending). Duplicate the layer to increase the intensification/strength of the glow.

Zoom in on the picture by %1600, then on the top right, there will be an option to like, add a grid view when zoomed in. It's blue and haves lines in a tic-tac-toe way. o.o

So after zooming and having grid on, use the pencil to draw out your name. It may take a little time to have down, but it's come around.

I see. You might wanna zoom out first, then go to the Move Selected Pixels tool (Shortcut key: M) and then you'll be able to move it and position it to your liking.
