god...this makes me cry every year remembering he was a normal teenager just like us...but he made a huge difference...he truly is a hero...thank you so much terry and god bless you RIP <3
@jjhamaouii he was not born a hero he died a hero. we are born without a name for ourselves it's what we do in life up to death that makes a name for us and he made a name for himself. he BECAME a hero he was not born a hero. no one is born a hero until they accomplish that feat in life. he was great but we should see things the way he did and i'm sure he would agree if he was alive

I survived Spinal Cancer 6 yrs now but i could never even come close to Terry courage wise. What a GREAT Kid he was RIP TERRY.GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL He should have been the greatest Canadian
Terry Fox you make Canada specialif it wasn't for you no one would believe in them selfs you are truely the number 1 best cananadian hero i just wish Terry was still alive so he could se this and how much everyone respects him
Its hard to believe that this awe inspiring kid would have beeen 53 this year. In our Canadian minds he will always be our child who left us far far too soon.

Terry fox is a true canadian im from thunder bay and hes the reason why this city has so much pride and terry is a reason to be inspired to something Long live Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope
I was about 10 years old when Terry started the marathon. His courage was unbelievable. Watching this video really moved me. He really had a big impact to all Canadians.
Terry Fox is my Hero and such an absolute inspiration.Terry and I both battled Osteogenic Sarcoma and if it wasn't for his courage, passion and dedication I wouldn't be celebrating my 18th or an amazing 4 years of surviving cancer.
Whenever I can, I explain Terry Fox to my fellow Americans, along with the realization that we too often neglect Canada. Right now, I am working on a fantasy when I meet Terry in 1980.
what a sight it was to see him running over 3000 miles on that prehistoric artificial leg, he raised 1dollar for every canadian which was his goal, someone said its sad what happened to Terry, death isnt always sad, in his death he saved so many more lives, he knew that it would too, he inspires the mind to realise you CAN do whatever you put your mind to, I hope we never forget him
Terry's story should be an inspiration for ALL of us, regardless of where we live. If more of us had even one-tenth of his courage, compassion, and determination, we could truly make this world a better place.
Thank you for creating this piece and I really appreciate the TV clips - some I had never seen before. Terry was an exceptional human being. Canada is so fortunate to have him as one of their own.
RIP one of the greatest canadians to ever live
