@nanreg193 not about england, at that time newcastle started going down and he was always injured.......even at depor he was more super sub than a starter...tristan and roy makaay where the starters.....plus he suffered from not having a certain position in the frontline and that hurt him at newcastle where he was made to play as a winger when he would have been more suited to playing as a striker in the premiership
@nanreg193 oh plus he never suceeded at ajax either so maybe depor was just the right environment for him, not necessarily the country he was playing his football in
Like a lot ....sorry a LOT of good, if not brilliant players that Newcastle have signed, he was trained until he was basically mediocre. I could name you 10-20 players that were brilliant before we signed them, 2 years at St James' become crap, sell them on and they become brillian again. Titus Bumble for God sake was Wigan's player of the season last year. What does that tell you???? Last season 10 internationals in first team got us relegated. Too much money, too little interest.
Luque was never given a proper chance to be honest- but he will always be remembered for scoring his only goal for the toon against sunderland (4-1 to the toon)!
worst 9.5million ever spent he was so slow couldnt shot for **** generally rubbish he must have been wearing lead shoes cant even run never mind beat a man just glad to see the back of him
The trouble with Luque was he came under Souness, and by the point he was completely recovered and showing signs of adapting, Souness was fired.
Roeder never felt like he had to justify Luque's signing in the way that Souness did, so didn't bother trying to help him adapt, shame as he's clearly excellant, did well at malaga this season.
He must be so angry at coming to Newcastle before us he was a Spanish international, and he's not played for Spain since he left us.
luque didnt get a chance with newcastle, i loved him, thought he would be great, its just a shame he iddnt get a chance with the club. hw would have been great
Perfect choice of song. :P
