I might remember this. However, there was also a live-action film (and song) about how the post office delivers mail (from the 1970's). One of the lines was '...to the post office where it will stay for just one day.' It had a hip-like tune to it with some Frank-Sinatra-like lines (i.e.'shoo-be-do-be-do-be-do'). Anyone out there know of this? Thanks in advance.
@d72jjpilc I remember that one and the other one where a black girl sends a letter to her grandpa in the country about coming to stay with him. It shows how the letter goes.
@d72jjpilc I remember this WELL. It was fascinating, thorough, and quite well done. And you're right about the jingle. I can still here it today, over 30 years gone by. Gosh, I'd like to see that again!
by chance mstatz or anyone else recall the one clip with the girl at the beach and she looks through her book and at the very end of the clip she goes"a whale...uh-oh" and the whale comes to life and hops out of the book?
Any chance you could help me find a classice sesame street cartoon? I remember they showed one of anamation drawing of a girl then when the girl was drawn she turned around walked into the distance then drew a door and walked out. I know it's an obscure one but they showed it in the early to mid 80's. Thanks!!!

I believe a fair amount of mail is indeed shipped by TOFC (trailer on flat car) much like UPS ships many of its trailers across the country by rail.
