Molly Ringwald is a fucking great actress. my entire teenage years in her hand and she rocked it out. nobody else. she got to kiss mother fucking jake ryan.
She is amazing, talented in singing, acting & dancing, and being adorable, undeniably beautiful is just a bonus! I'd give up everything just to be in her presence, she's legendary,
and oh, not just those 3 movies, she also had other amazing movies! ;) like the pick-up artist, for keeps, surviving, something to live for, fresh horses and etc! LOVE HER
wait, who's miley, selena, taylor, demi and those other teenage stars?
I started with looking at 80's film reviews on Netflix. Movies like The Goonies, Real Genius, and one of my favorite, "Some Kind of Wonderful." Eventually reading about Pretty in Pink." Feeling sad that John Hughes died not long ago. Had to come over and get a pick me up with this song. 80's I love u man!
I'm 18 and i love the movies John Hughes and Molly did together. Perfect match for classic movies. And this song is amazing! Also, by coincidence, i ended up taking a trip to Chicago to see my uncle right after Hughes died, i guess, and there was a billboard for John Hughes, honoring his memory. :)
@comradevodka it's from the movie: "Not Another Teen Movie" but she has just a reeeally small part in that movie :) it's like just this little scene ;)
@SophisticatedPR I agree, they were so much nicer and beautiful people on the outside despite the backgrounds, unlike those other rich snobby, stuck up jerks.
molly is the only red head that i would of shagged if i had the chance, you dont have be really beautiful,to be attractive, you just have to have something special and molly definitively had that.
molly was my first white girl crush...she was sexy...first movie i ever saw her in was the pick-up artist...i've had jungle fever for over 20 years and i don't want to be cured...
there is a difference in being cute and being beautiful....molly ringwald was beautiful..put her up against any teen actress today and there is no comparison....
@Jibbie49 Molly (same as Pat Benatar) actually had a look-a-like following back in those days. If you went to nearly any club(at least in new orleans where the drinking age was 18 in those days), there would be atleast one or two girls who would totally look like her(dress, hair, etc)
@jovanvilotijevic suck a dick asshole! she might have put on a couple pounds but she is still the same young beautiful teen she once was an i wouldn't be talking because your probably sitting on your ass right now while she is making another awesome episode of secret life so stick to what you know your chips that couch you sit on everyday and the remote control just bury your head in the sand and suck a dick! as for all the other molly ringwald haters you can do the same!
@oneoriginalthought Well of course he captured it...these movies were made in that period
But yes, he was very brilliant...and molly ringwald was beautiful. It's to bad a lot of these kids didn't go onto be big indie stars, like they should have.
Movie was originally based on the song by the Furs, suggested by Ringwald to Hughes. But in the end, only the title remained, and even its meaning was considerably changed - coz Pretty in Pink refers to the nakedness of Caroline, the song's title character.
I'm the biggest 80's buff in the world. Mainly because I was a teen at that time but I have to say, I was so so so glad to see that dance 0:12 the white kids was doing then go away. Thank god! It was straight up whiter then the whitest!
To each their own, but I think Molly makes that dance look pretty cool. Who really cares what a dance looks like anyway? Unless you're a professional, the whole point of dancing is to express yourself however you want to. No need to slap a race label onto everything, just move your body and have fun.
when I was sixteen I LOVED this soooong so much. and in "pretty in pink" blane was so hot :D I've seen all her 80's movies, she was awesome a teen icon :)
I hope you've seen it by now. It's like every high school in america...perhaps the world. Pretty in Pink, 16 candles, but especially The Breakfast Club....that's the one you gotta see. So well written, so well portrayed. Please see and respond as I'm sure many of us are curious to know your take on it. I'm 43 now, but seeing it for the first time when I was a teenager sure left an impact...as it did with many others. I work with guys 15 yrs. my junior that still quote that movie.
I finally saw this today. I liked the movie only as a guy it was a little difficult to bond with the character. Personally it's still a classic and better than what they make these days.
Just saw this yesterday all I have to say is, they just don't make movies like this anymore. Still relevant today cause it is just so cool unlike today's garbage which will dissappear into obscurity as soon as it comes out... And by the way, The Furs rule... So glad I grew up back then while these gems were new and not now, where everything is been there, done that, redundant and BORING.... I am now, and will forever be... an 80's fan...
You got that shit right my friend.....doesn't matter if you're 14 or 44, it hasn't changed...nor will it. The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink are timeless sort of movies...and the Furs lyrics sure played tribute to that notion. Rock on to all of the next generation, and don't discount a very important era.
Agreed. Those along with "Some Kind Of Wonderful", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Weird Science", they'll forever stand the test of time... Let's see them try to pull that off nowdays...
I agree. The 80s ROCKED. I was born in 1971. Hey aren't you also a Billy and Chloe fan(Y&R) or is that just cheekygirl? Well anyway, Molly ROCKS. One of the most adorable things about the 80s.
