I'm pretty sure his teacher will be surprised seeing her student, now a soldier defending their country. How fulfilling it is to see that what was once a little child is now a brave man.
so touching :) It's horrible that soldiers like him are literally seeing hell on a daily basis in Iraq and yet we justify it saying they're fighting for our freedom. Damn man I just don't think thats a solid enough reason with any factual backup to justify their sacrifices.... Why don't we call it protecting our security?
@johnlopez0riginal From what I know, apparently corpsmen wear Marine utility uniforms, but with Navy name tapes and insignia and ranks whenever possible.
I'm 13 now and in a couple of years I want to join the army, not for popularity, not for the women but for my Brother. Me and him have had a rough relationship, all our life but I want to make him proud of me, I love you Kallum.
@legendaryspartanking May I offer a bit of serious advice? My older brother was pre-med and decided to enlist in the military and thinking he would learn more 'in the field' than in text books, he became a chopper medic in Viet Nam. He was killed in 1968 and the last time I saw him he was in a coffin. He was my hero and my best friend and I miss him every day. PLEASE reconsider enlisting, you've an entire life ahead of you!! Impress your brother by doing well in school and attending college!!
its things like this that make me proud to live in this country with ppl that care so deeply about the men and women that serve. tho therer plenty out there that downtalk the military. their opinions are outweighed by the letters and gifts from those who do care. Tho i'm going to hate leaveing my family and possibly my wife if i get deployed. but i'm proud to say that im going to be an army soldier. God Bless you soldier
@Makoy155 mejo...(my son in spanish) let me tell you how proud I am of you for even saying that. I don't know you..but I'm the mother of 5 sons and 1 daughter and I will pray for you and I'm offering to adopt you as my soldier as well as the others we adopted to send letters and care packages and you can write to me at maggie daniels at rocket mail dot com. I may not be your biological mother, but your my son at heart. Keep in touch.
not everybody can do good for their country only the patriot the few and the brave, your service to our countru will never be forgotten, thank you marines

@johnlopez0riginal
my understanding is that all platoons in the Marine Corps have a medic that's officially a Navy enlistee, but
is embedded in the Marines and is also one of them. Seems to go back to WWII and beyond.
