I could not imagine what it must have been like to wrestle one of those things around that track for 500 miles! They are the true heroes of this sport.
If you are into vintage Indy 500 racing and don't mind the less-than-stellar graphics, this game is a bargain and great fun. It's too bad that many of those that remember this roaster era first hand are not your typical video game aficionados.
@rman11126 That's cool! My dad's first was '57 with Sam Hanks and my first was a very rain shortened 1975 with Bobby Unser taking the towel...er, I mean flag. There's a huge changing of the guard taking place these last several years. Tom Carnegie won't be around forever, neither the drivers of old....AJ Foyt, Gordon Johncock, etc. Great memories and I am grateful to have been there. See you at the track!
Wow, it is amazing to see the track back in the 1960's and compare it to how it is today. Quite a few major changes, but with the exception of the lack of brick on the front straight, the track is exactly the same.
is there a cockpit view?
