    this is....

    THIS IS!

Fucking awesome way to go Death Cab

  • I'm not going to say they did a terrible job at what they did, but, I'm entitled to my goddamn opinion, and here it is: they turned it into this overly remixed, indie/trendy bullshit that took away the emotion of the song. The song is DEEP, touching, and beautiful. They turned it into a flatlining, boring piece that a bunch of kids in tight pants would sit around and listen to. Congradulations, Death Cab.

  • Death Cab For Björkie?

  • I like it

  • wonderful cover. Love

  • I wanted to like it but it's completely off key and doesn't work at all.

  • They just butchered this song hard...

  • I love DCFC! Great songwriters.

You might like music if you like them.

  • Wow, this is a great performance. I actually herad the cover before the original, and I loved both in different ways.

    They're both great

  • in 2000 i lived in portland or, ........i was the best times of my life.........one night i went to crystal ballroom to see this set......they played this song.........i will never forget it for the rest of my life..........HAPPYNESS G

  • one of my favorite bands covering my all time favorite singer. :) hehehe

  • omg the guy sux at singing. Hes really off sometimes

  • i really love this song... the live is not so great though. i love the original too. bjork is pretty cool :)

  • Bjork would be proud of this, she's an open minded musician and these guys are one of the best and most original bands alive today

  • Well said.

  • why hate? covers are great for live shows. homage to original, fun for band, novel for fans in attendance. don't be too cool for school. just enjoy it or move along.

  • exactly

  • I think everyone should keep in mind is that when this took place, Death Cab was still relatively unknown and Bjork was already famous and well respected. The point of doing a cover is not to try to do it better than the original, it's to pay some homage, some respect to a particular artist. They clearly respect Bjork and weren't trying to one up her. Besides, it is live and nothing is going to sound perfect live. So just appreciate it for what it is or not for that matter.

  • listen to the studio version on the stability ep. it's just terrific. if you prefer to complain about the singing instead, please continue to waste your time.

  • I think Bjork would appreciate this. I love Bjork so much, and obviously her originals are incomparable. But this is pretty cool. And Ben Gibbards Joga is amazing.

  • i agree actually

  • No one should cover Bjork songs... her voice is unmatched. The instruments do a good job, but the singer can't pull it off.

  • Does this mean that Ben is telling Allison that she's gay?

    lol, jk.

I don't know how to feel about this song. This song seems so compatible between Bjork and Death Cab, I think it kinda fits.

However, this round goes to Bjork, for her haunting vocals and beautiful imagery. I wonder how Wilco would do a Bjork cover...?

  • @TheNineteenKing

Thom Yorke is the perfect fit for this song.

  • Good, but i like better Bjorks version :)

  • DIDN'T DO BJORK JUSTICE!!!!

  • well i like this one more than the bjork.. his voice still nice

  • lovely, but I preffer bjork version

  • thanks for this! omg. i love this cover. <3

  • hold your notes ben!

  • Bjork's is much better, but this is still really nice :)
