After Tyson lost to Buster Douglas he attempted a comeback but went to prison before he ever fought for the title. After Mike got out he won the WBC title from Bruno and had Lewis as his mandatory, but chose instead to face Holyfield for Evander's WBA Belt. Tyson lost, and would never again fight for the title until 2002. The facts.

Lewis has always been one of the smartest heavy weight boxers out there and thats why he wins because he knows how to fight each boxer and usually (apart from his horrible final fight) he goes out there and does what he needs to do.
It is an understatement as Lewis had one of the best right hands in heavyweight history but It's certainly not all Lennox had, he also had a superb jab for instance.

It is true that Tyson's skill and desire waned with the pressure of life outside of the ring, divorce, prison, abusive management etc. No other boxer of his era came close to facing thosse challenges. & the biggest joke of all, which i hear about lewis/tyson, is that lewis ducked tyson when tyson was champ lol lol lol well 4 one lewis was stil amateur when tyson won the title, but thats when they say "yeah lewis stayed amateur coz he didnt wanna fights tyson as a pro", yet lewis turned pro while tyson was still chmpion!! lol so unless lewis had the ability 2 see in2 the future & know tyson would lose 2 douglas & go 2 jail, then lewis turned pro assuming he would have 2 fight tyson 4 the title

4got 2 include ruddock in tysons list- so thats 6 guys...yet when u look at the quality of opponents, vitali klitshko alone is better than any1 tyson has ever beat, tua hits harder & has a better chin than anyone tyson has ever beat, akinwande & grant & klitschko where all way bigger than any1 tyson ever beat- where u actualy look at thier records u will see lewis faught better opponents! anyone can look awsome where there mostly fighting has beens & tomato cans! tyson was good, but overrated

1 eye, injured Klitschko on short notice put prime Lewis into retirement! Lewis looked soo bad that at age 37(just 1 yr after lewis beat Tyson) people started to say Lewis has aged over-night, he's fat etc! That's how bad Vitali made Lewis look!
Emanuel stewart during the Arreola vs Klitschko fight said that today version of Klitschko(38yrs old) is much better than the one that had trouble against sanders or the one that fought Lennox Lewis!

@fsw20585bir WRONG klitschko fought lewis who was overweight (heaviest of his career) hadnt fought for a year (coz he was contemplating retirement!) & had agreed 2 the fight on 2weeks notice having trained 4 a much shorter opponent...klitshko HIMSELF said that lewis wasnt in good condition...EVEN SO LEWIS WON THE FIGHT! An out of shape & unmotivated lewis bust klitschkos face up so bad he needed plastic surgery! Imagine what he wouldve done 2 vitali had he been in top shape- ko'd him easy!

lewis faught more young prime contenders/champs than tyson did! the only top guys tyson beat in thier primes where biggs (even though he was already an x coke addict & alcoholic he was still young so i'll include him 4 arguments sake),tucker, spinks, bruno & seldon- 5 guys! Lewis beat mason, ruddock, akinwande, briggs, mavrovic, grant, tua, rahman, klitschko 9 guys! ALL those guys where younger than lewis,ranked in world top 5 & in thier primes,& most where better than the guys tyson beat!

Lewis was an excellent fighter, I think Tucker was a good fighter - better than Donavon Ruddock!

After the Tyson challenge Tucker was on drugs and out of the ring for nearly 3 years before returning to the ring... and that type of inactivity did him no favours. By the time the 33 year old and drugged up (on coke) Tucker met Lewis, it was the right time and place for Lewis.
Tucker was undeservedly a very highly under-rated fighter.

Tucker was old dude here. Abot 10yrs older than Lewis. He still manage to go the distant and give a good account. Had it been a Prime tucker then lewis would have got balsted out in 1 round. Still see Herbie Hide whooping Tucker but not blasting him out in 2rounds and Hide did to tucker when they met

if tucker was so washed up he faught lewis how come he was on a winning streak of 14 straight victories? until he faught lewis the tyson fight was his only loss, by the time he faught hide he had 5 losses! & u wanna talk about washed up opponents- tyson faught pinklon thomas (x smack addict), tyrell biggs (x coke head & alcoholic), larry holmes (38yrs old comin off a 2yr layoff), tony tubbs (clinically obese), holyfield (battleworn,in his 30's with heart probelms & ko'd by bowe 12months earlier)

Lewis has always been one of the smartest heavy weight boxers out there and thats why he wins because he knows how to fight each boxer and usually (apart from his horrible final fight) he goes out there and does what he needs to do.

It is an understatement as Lewis had one of the best right hands in heavyweight history but It's certainly not all Lennox had, he also had a superb jab for instance.
