How to replace chip on HP 364

I used these instructions to replace the chips for my HP photosmart plus, slightly different shape cartridge, but same method. Much to my delight, it was simple, and it worked like a charm. It took about 2 minutes to do all 5. I've printed multicolor documents, and I am not getting any error messages from HP which is a miracle. Thank you so much for taking the time to post this video, I will save so much money by not buying HP's overpriced cartridges. Happy New Year to you!

there is one problem. with the new cartridge in place, you still get the old level of ink and it never updates, does any one know what to do to fix this?

@payambreaker got the same problem! not just the update is wrong, it keeps on printing in the low quality! HELP; PLEASE!

I have not found a solution yet. I watched some video on Youtube how to update the Ink Level. But it is not possible for the new printers. we have to live with that for the time being. I know, It sucks.

Does this method of transfering chips lead to the ink detection facility (i.e. telling you if you're low on ink) no longer working?

@elliot520 of course the ink detection facility won't work for the rest of the life of the printer, for this reason on ebay transparent cartridges are being sold

There is a new version of 364 cartridges where the chip is embedded in the cartridge and is surrounded by slightly higher plastic so you can't just slip a knife underneath it. How do you get the chip off of the new type??

everything is a big shit! after the chip to transmit the printer cartridge is empty you have tanks and five liters of ink. ready to pack up. I have a system in this home that I keep in a box because I can not find anywhere how to reset the cartridge!

I would add that you should be careful when removing the chips if you happen to damage one of those thin metal contacts you will not be able to use the chip. Also,as an option you could also use double-stick tape instead of glue.
