I'd go for natural gas as a domestic fuel b/c we have a lot more of it than we do oil. Of course we should use our own oil as well. Id encourage development with severely reduced taxes on income and direct write offs on investment. Id still make sure things were in an ecologically responsible way, but that would not stop them from being done profitably.

I would restore our 2nd Amendment rights. I would de-regulate and incentivize homeschooling and private schooling. I would outlaw abortion, make english the offical language of the United States, I would permanently define the term marriage as a fundamentally heterosexual union. I would close the borders and control them. I would kick out anyone here ilegally. I would reduce troops 50% internationally. I would drill domestically for oil and natural gas. Definitely let the banks and whoever else fails that needs to. Protect rule of law and personal property. Bring back and promote free market capitalism. Make Unions against the law. Setup and promote ombudsman in its place for industries prone to problems. Refuse to take on more debt. Payoff debt.
Those are good ideas but the first thing I would do is move my ass down into the presidential bunker and get as assassin proof as possible, then I'd attack the fed and either disband it or nationalize it. Then begin issuing a new currency similar to the old greenbacks. The greenback was a debt free form of money that was issued by the government rather than the bankers. Then I'd slam up trade barriers (people scream that it would cause unemployment, but that's happening anyway).

A 10% cut to every department is too simplistic and wouldn't work. There is an aging population and the costs for healthcare are going to rise no matter what you do. Cutting 10% from the education budget is also a bad thing as American children are already falling behind the other countries in learning. Opening up drilling will make a couple of international companies richer but won't make America much money. Withdrawing troops is a good thing and improving civil liberties is important.

I would not cut spending. As much as if sucks, you *need* some form of stimulus package. The financial metldown took a huge bite out of the economy, but the resulting "tightening of wallets" creates a negative feedback loop where the worse the economy does, the more people tighten up, and then since get even worse, and down, and down ... funneling that necessary spending into *long term* projects is the best way to spend it.

@DEMCAD I can't help but agree, Sir. I've read stories that when Nixon and Kennedy had their first debate on radio, polls showed Nixon won the debate. Then with the advent of television, people sided with Kennedy based on his looks. I believe had Ross Perot not dropped out of the race in '92, he would have been President. Now we have a differnt 'RP' - Ron Paul. I'm looking forward to him winning the White House in 2012 because I think America has had enough of the Republocrats.

I'd go for natural gas as a domestic fuel b/c we have a lot more of it than we do oil. Of course we should use our own oil as well. Id encourage development with severely reduced taxes on income and direct write offs on investment. Id still make sure things were in an ecologically responsible way, but that would not stop them from being done profitably.
The flat tax and better constitutional protections I agree with 100%

Push to abolish the federal income tax. Replace it with a national sales tax that cannot be higher than 10 percent. Bring our troops home and only maintain strategically important bases overseas. Audit the Fed and end it if possible. Expose the murdering, thieving bankers by using the media. Push to reinstate a gold /silver standard. IF I WERE PRESIDENT, THE 1st THING I WOULD DO IS.... espose the BS. First, I would expose the "shadow government," because the best place to hide is in the light. After that, I would let the American people know how and why their elected representatives have sold them out to special interests. Congress will certainly not let America move in the right direction unless there is enough pressure from the public. Thus, Congress needs to be exposed, first. Then America can start to repair.

I wouldn't blame them if they played the game fairly, but the don't. Of course, people can't afford to pay more anymore, so they will go with whatever is cheaper. But the corporations have rigged the game, they can offer the cheapest prices because of their unethical practices. I can't get into detail on that, but I suggest you research it. Some foreign countries, such as South Korea, need to have a US presence, but absolutely, Germany no longer needs it. The cold war is long over. The biggest money saver I would do is eventually phase out social security. Your employer matches what you pay. Can you imagine how well off your retirement would be if everything you paid into it, matched by your employer, was earmarked strictly for you? In just cd's it would be enormous. Classic case of everything the govt. touches turns to crap.

Then we also have 19% consumer tax on almost everything..

Forbes' flat tax plan would leave the first $30,000 or so of income tax free. But then we've got all those Soc. Sec. taxes and Medicaid taxes, and the list goes on and on.

I would return to the concept of non-establishment of religion and get rid of the nonsense notion of Separation of Church & State as Americans understand it today. I would restore our 2nd Amendment rights. I would de-regulate and incentivize homeschooling and private schooling. I would give tax credits to families wanted & needed school choice to improve their children's education. I would stop all global warming legislation and invest in clean energy technology.

I would balance the federal budget by any means necessary. I would personally take a pay cut down to about $60,000 net. I would slowly do away with entitlment spending and privatize Social Secuirity, except for those who were within 5 years of retirement. I would cut virtually all taxes on business, since they don't pay taxes anyway and just pass on the cost of their taxes to us in the cost of their products. If I was president, I would stop all welfare except for truthfully disabled people. I would tell people that we are not a welfare country & they should take care of their own families, not tax payers. I would set a term limit for all house of representatives and congress. I would close the borders and control them. I would kick out anyone here ilegally. I would reduce troops 50% internationally. I would drill domestically for oil and natural gas. Definitely let the banks and whoever else fails that needs to. Protect rule of law and personal property. Bring back and promote free market capitalism. Make Unions against the law. Setup and promote ombudsman in its place for industries prone to problems. Refuse to take on more debt. Payoff debt.

Those are good ideas but the first thing I would do is move my ass down into the presidential bunker and get as assassin proof as possible, then I'd attack the fed and either disband it or nationalize it. Then begin issuing a new currency similar to the old greenbacks. The greenback was a debt free form of money that was issued by the government rather than the bankers. Then I'd slam up trade barriers (people scream that it would cause unemployment, but that's happening anyway).

First, all US troops out of Afghanistan, South Korea, Iraq and every other corner of this planet within 3 mos, no exceptions. I would cut every department's spending by 50% and seek the Fed govn't to be reduced in size by 75%. A 10% cut to every department is too simplistic and wouldn't work. There is an aging population and the costs for healthcare are going to rise no matter what you do. Cutting 10% from the education budget is also a bad thing as American children are already falling behind the other countries in learning. Opening up drilling will make a couple of international companies richer but won't make America much money. Withdrawing troops is a good thing and improving civil liberties is important.

I would not cut spending. As much as if sucks, you *need* some form of stimulus package. The financial metldown took a huge bite out of the economy, but the resulting "tightening of wallets" creates a negative feedback loop where the worse the economy does, the more people tighten up, and then since get even worse, and down, and down ... funneling that necessary spending into *long term* projects is the best way to spend it.

I would abolish the Fed and create a gold and silver based money standard with stricter penalties on banks who defraud.
I would promote a flat income tax for all rich and poor
restore peoples land rights and sovreign status to be free on there land
promote other ways for government to make money that will create jobs
Jail time for all living governement officials who have comitted war crimes or broken the US Constitution. we must show people there is a penalty for Tyrrany.

I would do nothing except tell people the truth about what is going on. And let them decide via pressuring their elective representatives.
Like JFK would mention secret societies and name them. I would tell them how it will get fixed and only with their protesting and rising up will I do anything or I will do what secret societies want.
The choice is theirs, assume your neighbor will protest and see no change or get out and protest.

Unlike Ron Paul, I wouldn't immediately end the Fed, but I would immediately legalize and promote alternative currency.
I would end the drug war and pardon non-violent drug offenders.
I would end both wars and make a sincere apology to Arabs for all of our meddling.
I would end all foreign aid and promote global volunteerism for issues like AIDS, hunger and conflict.
I'd end income tax and many useless Federal Branches.
I'd make a speech reminding people and the states of their sovereignty.

Trying to fix this world crisis is way above my pay grade. I have no idea how to fix it or even if it can be fixed. My prayers are that there is a group of people who do understand all the parts of the web of world economics enough to know how to plug the hole so we can get on with life. So far I can't a point to one.

If I was President I make it illegal to put floride in public drinking water sources. I'd immediately stop all chemtrail spraying. I would prosecute Cheney, Bush, Rove, Rumsfeld...then I'd get down to real business....not signing an executive order to protect my birth certificate!!

*Promote the reading of federalist papers and focus on removing the supreme court
