It must have been cold outside. I think I can see your breath! I have come up with a cool idea! I thought about how Stephen King started out writing short stories. I have felt inspired to write my own short stories only how mine is different is because I got thinking we have what young Steven King didn't have the internet! So I am going to post my short stories on my FaceBook page & see what people think of them. (I can't help, but wonder what the UPS truck is delivering.)
A fan is visiting and filming the house of his favourite author, so what? I'd do the same if I could, I actually envy him. And I don't think this would bother Mr King. When you're famous, you actually expect to be loved.
Awesome. I doubt he'd have all the bats and dragons and stuff all over the house if he was really that against people filming it. But it does surprise me. Like, that's his actual house-house, where he and his wife live regularly? Like, you can see him out hosing down the walk and getting in and out of his car, chilling out on the porch? Wild. I wonder if he ever has a problem w/ wacko fans.
when i lived in maine we used to drive by his house i wish i got to meet him but my uncle has and a family friend of ours is good friends with him..lucky
To be fair, if Stephen King really wanted to completely shut himself off from the world, he can afford to buy a property that isn't so easily accessible to the public.
On top of that, look at those ornate gates, for crying out loud. They look like something out of a theme park. The place is going to attract attention from passers-by, even if they have no idea a famous novelist lives there.
I'd say Stephen King does not mind visitors looking at his house from the sidewalk. He knows where his money comes from, his fans, some of whom might even look at his house from the sidewalk. If Stephen did mind, he'd buy a bunch of land out in the country and build a house even bigger. He certainly has enough money to do it.
I ve been to Bangor twice in my life! Once in the hot August summer '05 and the second in winter '09. And I walked both times pass his house. But of course you could tell Stephen King wasnt home both times. t was all boarded up on the first floor. But the caretaker was there!
It still was a nice little thrill to actually been that close to such a great writer!
Just so all you five year olds know, I live very close to Stephen King. I can tell you that Mr. King is use to this as there are people filming and taking pictures of his home year around. Thousands of people each year! So please, stop your whining and move on already! Actually, why don't you find something else to worry about in your own life then spending time worrying about someone who has done something (filming this video) millions of people have done over the last 30 years!
@deallis1 That called stalking and is a form of harassment, which of course isnt tolerated by anyone not even Stephen King!
But as long as you just pass along a public street and stay on it and then shoot some pictures, whats the harm in that.
The same happens to me when I visited Star Island in Miami FL. And I ask the security guy if I just can walk along that circular road without trespassing on the properties of the stars!
I would feel strange if I had filmed Stephen´s house, like sneaking, but on the other side I´m a bit glad that I can see where he lives. I´m thousands kilometres far from the US and I´ve only have heard about his house. It´s scary, like late in night going outside and see all these bats and dragons... weird, but King´s standard, I think :o)
On halloween he will lagit give you like a 1.5 foot choclate bar... I used to live like almost right next to him like a couple houses away. he provided money to build a little water park in town
Some one should film mine and post it? What are you five years old? He is a horror film / author icon, of course people are going to film his house. Ever heard of Graceland, Neverland? DUH!!! I filmed it for those who are not able to visit the area and see how cool it really is.
@AdventureMyths I'm glad you filmed it and posted it here. I live in Britain and always wondered about Stephen King's house. And King is a global icon. It is people like us who paid for that house. So, we are entitled to have a look at what we paid for. Of course, every celebrity deserves privacy. But you haven't done any harm at all by filming the outside of a great writer. Thank you.
@AdventureMyths And by doing so you detract from the mystery of it all, and take a way a little itty bitty piece of the world. It's also disrespectful to the house owners. You should've tried doing this to Salinger while he was still alive. He probably would've called the cops on you. And rightly so.
@thot4 ? What is your problem? PUBLIC SIDEWALK... Hollywood icon.... LIVING IN A HOUSE CLOSE TO THE STREET ALL DAZZLED UP SO THE PUBLIC WILL GET A THRILL... A little itty bitty piece of the world? Are you on something?
@AdventureMyths Hollywood icons usually are located in Hollywood and not Maine, buddy.
What I'm saying is you need to respect the mans privacy. I know if I saw you doing that from out front of my house, looking all ridiculous like that, I would be very angry, and annoyed.
You're on the sidewalk yes. You're perfectly within your legal boundaries, yes. But as far as respect for privacy goes, you've crossed a line there. And I think you're missing the point completely.
@AdventureMyths you know i see both you points. It would be rude normally but your not talking shit about him. In fact you say 'wonderful books' i dont think he would mind. Your not invading his privacy just showing a short video of his house nothing inside. Plus the media will have shown it so many times, he'll be used to it
IS that really his house wow thats amazing i would love to go meet him does he really live there wow how did u know that>? I wanna meet him someday:XD stephen king
I live in bangor and go by his house everyday. Makes a nice shortcut to hammond street! Met the guy a few times shopping around town and he is a very down to earth guy. He blends right in with the rest of us him and his wife are very nice people.
I have met him around town just shopping and such never had an in depth conversation but does say hi and smiles creepily . Great guy ! I have lived in maine all my life great place to live.
Ok, I was not trying to be an ass. But one thing we learned in film school was that a fast moving shaky camera is not pleasing. You are showing us the house of Stephen King! Just move the camera slower, show us the detail, give us time to look. You don't need to be in front of the camera ether. The vid will speak for it's self.
I was not trying to be a jerk, just give constructive feedback.
Honestly.... I do agree with this comment. This was done over two years ago and I have learned a lot since then and current videos reflect that. My apologies for calling you an ass, but after a ton of badgering its hard to hold back.
Thank you, for your enquiry. Anytime I need to see a Twat,I just watch that famous documentry show ,from your Cuntry.(sic) The Jerry Springer Show! Its like a serious version of Fox News. Very informative! About the name... My son came up with it. This was after all my suggesgions, like scaryyankystalkerknob, (and all veriants),wouldn't enter. He thinks theres maybe too many of them. One last thing. My son and I, absolutely love kings work.....but not enough to pester the fella. Thats mental!
I have been there as well. It was actually quite bizarre driving up as it is like downtown Bangor!!! You go down past the main strip and it is like 3 streets on the left. i am a writer well my work this far is personal i havent published any of them and if ther is something i wished since i beggined was to worck next to him haha maybe childish or maybe impossible but is my wish
Why do people always feel the need to put a goddamn heavy metal track over their YouTube videos, no matter how mundane or simple they are? Do you realize how fucking irritating that shit is? Jesus fucking Christ!
You should learn how to better express yourself! Also, you could always hit mute? I bet you get pissed off when artists use paint on the canvas don't you? Do us all a favor and go to church, potty mouth!
Its a free country, I was on the sidewalk..and I am an artist you idiot. This was just a quick video for those who may be interested. If your not interested...THAN DON"T COMMENT OR WATCH!!! I'm not gay, just ask your mom!
omg don't listen to these douches...thanks for the vid...the music was fine...it wasn't that loud to distort what you were saying. You could give people anything they wanted and they'd still throw crap at people.
You are not an artist. Just a fool with a video camera. Yes, you are gay, his mom is a hermaphrodite and you didn't even notice. Besides, you look about as straight as rupaul.
I visited your page today....and understand clearly that you are an attention seeker.. I also believe without a doubt YOU have never met Stephen King and are truly just a plain and simple asshole. Thanks for stopping by Moron!
Oh my fucking word, This is TOO hilarious. Have some FUCKING respect! Stephen King is just a NORMAL fucking person. Why do people think they have the right to hang out in front of people's houses like that? You are so pathetic, coming up here to our state, thinking your all "cool" with your annoying stupid accents. Get a fucking life.
Well now.. First of all I was on a public sidewalk and second, learn to control your potty mouth if your serious about becoming a nurse.. Your manners really suck!
I was there last summer. My dad grew up in Maine and showed us where Stephen King lives. Before Stephen King moved in, my dad's friend lived in that house. No joke. My dad even slept over in that house. I'm not kidding. So cool.
Recently I read Wolves of the Calla and that was one of the biggest garbages that I ever came upon. I understand that people write garbage for 200 pages ( Patterson, Koontz, Steel) but for 800 pages, that is one real fuck up.
The man has written som lousy books: Insomnia, The Cell, Dreamcatcher. And another thing: the movie of The Shining is WAY better than the book. The film is a classic but the book is not.
umm...Mrtvapriroda i don't know if you know this but wolves of the calla belongs to a very long series called the dark tower i suggest you read the first four books then wolves of the calla maybe it won't suck anymore when you actually read the books before i mean you probably didn't understand a word of what they were doing if you started at the fifth book :S
lol Banger Maine. i rode by his house.. lol i feel bad for Steven King, he has all these people come by and take pictures of his house.. i have a picture of it on my phone ...
first off it's bangor with an o. anyway, it's cool living by him because you'll be in the mall or fairmount market and he'll be there and he talks to you and is so into the community. I hate it when rich people don't donate any money, but stephen king has a HUGE heart and loves to help others out and he is such an idol for so many people.
my life long dream was to be sat outside his house and have him pass me on his daily walk and i would just say good morning - no crap about being his no. 1 fan - on my way to florida in 4 wks we are due to stop to refuel in bangor!! i felt sick when i found this out - that i wont get to see this place - life sux - really lost a dollar and found a fiver!!!!!
I envy you so immensely right now. I live in CT, and one of my biggest goals is to get to Bangor one day just so I can stand outside that gate.
And to the person down there who dares call him creepy for doing this, you obviously have a lack of perspective. Stephen King has been writing for a veeeery long time now and probably has at *least* one or two people peeking through his gate every day. Don't you think he'd get used to it by now? That's the price of celebrity.
cheers...i have seen many photos of sk's house and always imagined it to be a bit isolated on a haunted looking street or summin. was interesting to see the street looked kinda normal.
I live here in bangor maine born and raised and i go by it almost every sing day, it has a natuarlly creepy feeling to it every time you walk by it. Me and my friends go stand at the gate sometimes and take pictures, its a pretty nice house, but i feels so creepy, just the air its whole being, i cant really explain it!
how dare you harass this person by taking pics of their home. are you a perv? a stalker? a fool? what are you? all three? you are not stephen king. you are no one special. try to be someone special instead of taking lame pics on your cell phone, posting them on your gay myspace, and acting like you are somehow cool for doing so. i bet he thinks it is creepy you and your dork friends hang out his gate.
FUCKING HELL!!! Saw the clown fucked off...came back to leave comment you horrible person! lol i HATE clowns...................................i hate it i hate him i hate him i hate him
It must have been cold outside. I think I can see your breath! I have come up with a cool idea! I thought about how Stephen King started out writing short stories. PeterDaScriptGuy 2 years ago
Someday, he HIMSELF will be in the ranks of Dickens, Mitchell and Lewis, if he isn't already. Not just his house.
RoadieDalton 2 years ago
Some think it's because he saw his frind killed by a train when he was about 8 or so, but he's denied that as an influence on his writing.

King isnt the master of the horror films.... He is the master of the horror BOOKS

What's great about it is the house is deceptively small-looking from the front, but it stretches behind.

Why do people always feel the need to put a goddamn heavy metal track over their YouTube videos, no matter how mundane or simple they are? Do you realize how fucking irritating that shit is? Jesus fucking Christ!
billbenblue 2 years ago 3
You should learn how to better express yourself! Also, you could always hit mute? I bet you get pissed off when artists use paint on the canvas don't you? Do us all a favor and go to church, potty mouth!
AdventureMyths 2 years ago
Oh, so you consider yourself an artist, then? Ha ha ha! And if my language offends you, what the hell are you doing reading Stephen King novels?
billbenblue 2 years ago
Thanks for watching......
AdventureMyths 2 years ago
i agree bro, your gay and so is your shitty metal. you compare yourself to artists because you make a shitty video outside an artist's house?
explosiveshrooms 2 years ago
Its a free country, I was on the sidewalk..and I am an artist you idiot. This was just a quick video for those who may be interested. If your not interested...THAN DON"T COMMENT OR WATCH!!! I'm not gay, just ask your mom!
AdventureMyths 2 years ago
omg don't listen to these douches...thanks for the vid...the music was fine...it wasn't that loud to distort what you were saying. You could give people anything they wanted and they'd still throw crap at people.
PhourQ 2 years ago
Thank you... Its always nice to have people with class visit and comment...
AdventureMyths 2 years ago
You are not an artist. Just a fool with a video camera. Yes, you are gay, his mom is a hermaphrodite and you didn't even notice. Besides, you look about as straight as rupaul.

Morons, I have met him over 12 times and he is RARELY ever at that residence...Do you actually really think he only has ONE residence?
Punks..you show your immaturity and naivete.

I visited your page today....and understand clearly that you are an attention seeker.. I also believe without a doubt YOU have never met Stephen King and are truly just a plain and simple asshole. Thanks for stopping by Moron!

Looks like an average house. I bet he loves it when strangers stop by to look at his house.

I bet he hates it. I'd certainly hate it if I had a horde of people constantly hovering around my place.

Yeah, but it's probably quite inevitable if you are the best-selling novelist in the world.

The film is a classic but the book is not.
antibulletdodger101 3 years ago
what the hell is wrong with you? are you fucking retarded?
jwalkershred 2 years ago
umm...Mrtvapriroda i don't know if you know this but wolves of the calla belongs to a very long series called the dark tower i suggest you read the first four books then wolves of the calla maybe it won't suck anymore when you actually read the books before i mean you probably didn't understand a word of what they were doing if you started at the fifth book :S

Stephen King is the best.
iian123 3 years ago 2
first off it's bangor with an o. anyway, it's cool living by him because you'll be in the mall or fairmount market and he'll be there and he talks to you and is so into the community.

Me and my friends go stand at the gate sometimes and take pictures, its a pretty nice house, but i feels so creepy, just the air its whole being, i cant really explain it!
noodles2eat 3 years ago
how dare you harass this person by taking pics of their home. are you a perv? a stalker? a fool? what are you? all three? you are not stephen king. you are no one special. try to be someone special instead of taking lame pics on your cell phone, posting them on your gay myspace, and acting like you are somehow cool for doing so. i bet he thinks it is creepy you and your dork friends hang out his gate.
Dollarbob 3 years ago
Is this really Richard Simmons? Cool, thanks for stopping by and checking out our videos!!
