Go to Northern Ontario there's alot of European influence along with native influence theres also alot of french speakers down there(Thanks to Quebecois moving there way way back in the day). To bad people don't realize it, people(not all but most of them) only know Toronto or the GTA area there's more to Ontario than Southern Ontario
@cheeriosinabowl I went to Quebec and I didn't find it to be like Europe, but it's maybe because I live in Europe.... Quebec city to me felt like a city of the Americas that's VERY BEAUTIFUL ORGANIZED AND WELL KEPT. it didn't feel like europe though.

@andru7 Well everyone has their own opinion, I lived in Europe for almost 7 years and I hated the overcrowding , tiny homes, narrow streets etc..I was so amazed when I came to North America. I like that I have the freedom to use a car to get somewhere quickly, but that I can also take LRT if I want too, but most of the time the car is so much faster, just hop on the freeway and boom you are there, plus I love my car. Also I find the cities here much cleaner.

Live in Toronto, been to every major city in Canada (except for Halifax, Charlottown, and St. John's) - however, all I can say, nothing compares to this beautiful city. This is the crown jewel of Canada! Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver have nothing on QC. We will remember and we will come back!

Quebec City would be a much better place it it retained the 1851 Demographichs were French Speakers comprised 58.1% of the population and where English Speakers comprised 40.6% of the populaiton. Quebec City should be restored to being a 100% English-French bilingual and bicultural city. More English Speakers must immigrate to Quebec City to restore the English speakers to being a huge minority. Quebec City should be an English-French city and not a French city. Quebec City would be richer too.

The French built Quebec City but under French rule it was just a small town that was nothing to the likes of New York City, Philadelphia and Boston. The British were the ones who built and financed many of the landmarks of Quebec City like the Legislative Assembly building, Chateau Frontenac hotel and the La Ciitadelle fortress.

@andru7 Well everyone has their own opinion, I lived in Europe for almost 7 years and I hated the overcrowding , tiny homes, narrow streets etc..I was so amazed when I came to North America. I like that I have the freedom to use a car to get somewhere quickly, but that I can also take LRT if I want too, but most of the time the car is so much faster, just hop on the freeway and boom you are there, plus I love my car. Also I find the cities here much cleaner.

Any quebec separatist who views anglo-canadians as bullies, needs to actually spend some time in english canada. anglo-canadians don't say bad things about quebecers, other than the fact that the quebecois are crazy drivers. Me and my 11 year old cousin are english, but we're learning french. she lives in Toronto and she's in a french immersion school, despite having no french speaking relatives. she's almost biligual... so please don't say that anglo canadians don't care about french culture..

Quebec City would be a much better place it it retained the 1851 Demographichs were French Speakers comprised 58.1% of the population and where English Speakers comprised 40.6% of the populaiton. Quebec City should be restored to being a 100% English-French bilingual and bicultural city. More English Speakers must immigrate to Quebec City to restore the English speakers to being a huge minority. Quebec City should be an English-French city and not a French city. Quebec City would be richer too.

@ManOWar2Red The Dutch were the ones who founded New York City which was called New Amsterdam and when it was under Dutch rule it was nothing but a glorified trading post but when the British took over New Amsterdam and called it New York City they made into one of the wealthiest and powerfull cities in the British Empire and the world. The same thing happend in Quebec City. The British Empire made Quebec City into a rich and powerfull city to be recognized on the world stage.

The French built Quebec City but under French rule it was just a small town that was nothing to the likes of New York City, Philadelphia and Boston. The British were the ones who built and financed many of the landmarks of Quebec City like the Legislative Assembly building, Chateau Frontenac hotel and the La Ciitadelle fortress.

The French Empire controlled Quebec City from 1608-1763 (155 years) and the British Empire controlled Quebec City from 1763-1931 (168 years). The British did more to build up Quebec City as a global city that became rich and powerfull under their rule then the French or the French Quebecois ever did. The British pourded billions into the devolopment of Quebec City.

The British created the Province of Quebec (1763-1791) and again in the Province of Quebec (1867-Present Day). The British were ceaded New France by the French in exhcange for the French West Indies. Canada is a European country whether you like it or not just like the United States, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

In 1763 (that is 247 years ago), France and Britain came together in the Treaty of Paris (1763) to negiotate peace terms to end the French and Indian War (1754-1763). France was given a choice to keep either New France (Canada) or the French West Indies (Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenada). They chose to keep the French West Indies and gave New France to the British.

And we aren't here because of mercy, believe me. English people never, ever gave us mercy. Lord Durham tried to assimilate us with the unification of the Lower and Upper Canada 200 years ago, we fought and resisted. That's just an example. We're still here though, proud and French.

Although it would be cool to have a Neo-British empire, I don't like the idea of having it ruled from London. The British have turned their country into a shitty little police state, and would no doubt want to force the same on everyone else. Add the UK's history of selling us down the river when it comes to foreign affairs, i.e. the Oregon territory, the Alaska panhandle and even Maine.
The only thing we might benefit from is the UK's commitment to having a military.
