its not to normal. i would know because i went to the ortho and they sed that it was weird because i was loosing teeth non stop. so i had all my teeth lost around the age of 9. i thought hey thats good i dont need to get them pulled and stuff anymore. but hopefully bye 14 15 they are all gone

i had a gap a day ago. it was a little smaller than yours but not that much, it took less than 24 hours to close up with braces, the dentist tighten them so hard.. my gums are still sore.

you shouldn't wear the wax while eating. I mean, it won't hurt you if you do end up eating it, but I don't think it would be to pleasant. Some waxes you can taste, mine is mint flavored. You probably can't sleep with them because you could choke on the wax if it falls off I guess, I'm not sure about that one.

Hi. You only got braces for the upper part of your teeth? So u can get braces just for the upper part alone? I've a gap I'm trying to close as well, but was told by the orthodontists i went to see i need to get them for the lower part as well, but they would put the braces for the lower part at a later date. I'm going to see if i can get them for the upper part alone. How long did you wear ur braces for? N roughly how much did u pay for the upper part? U luk prettier.

Take Advil or Tylenol an hour before you go to the orthodontist, that should help with any discomfort you may have during it and for a few hours after :)

ya... I had to get 4 baby teeth pulled and one of the adult teeth wouldn't come down on it's own so I had to have surgery to attach a chain to it to pull it down.

yay! i missed my gap at first too...i've had my braces off for about 4 years now, and i'm going to say what everyone else says: wear your retainer! (when the time comes, obviously) i wore mine for the first 2 years like i was told and then stopped. now my teeth are moving >:(

I have one that came in while I still had my baby teeth in (so it's kinda towards the inside of my mouth), my other one is being pulled down by a chain (that I had to get surgery for), so hopefully within the next few weeks it'll start poking through.
