Bach Toccata in D minor BWV 913 (piano)

Though a technically acceptable performance of the tocatta, it lacks phrasing, line, and musicianship especially in the fugue. Whomever pointed eon of these readers to the "amateurish" is gravely misinformed. The tocattas were written fairly late in Bach's life and he was experimenting with freer forms of keyboard works.

He/she could've gone much deeper in the musical exploration!! After a while, it just becomes boring to listen to. A wall of noise and notes...certainly not Bach's intention.

how funny. i was referred to this piece as an example of a fugue that he wrote when he was younger and displays an "amateurish" level of counterpoint. i don't know by whose standards you could call it amateurish, though, because it still completely trumps any sort of counterpoint that i might conceive -_-

This is a really nice piece. How come nobody plays this one and everybody else just thinks of the iconic "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor"?

@Vook BWV 538 is a Toccata in D Minor as well as 'iconic' BWV 565.

I got all Bach's works. I must admit he has the best music ever. Most people only know Brandenburg Concertos, Badinerie, BWV 565. He surely has more than that.
