  • I was there !

  • That was lovely, classy. Brought back memories ~This pub landlady thanks you for posting~

  • Very, very, very, very cool!!! Thank you for posting this.

  • oh my God..this was amazing..the crowd are magnifficient...hello from Croatia...

  • i was front row in this concert

  • @xXSonOfMagicXx did you pay for your ticket? half the people there did not and I would love to find out how and why

  • Tears when the pipes cut in. What a wonderful song. Great artist. Thanks for posting such a good feeling song. We all have our weaknesses, this is mine.

  • This concert was the 2nd' Halifax Explosion.

  • Paul Rocks!

  • One of the Best Bagpipe song ever... LM

  • Thanks so much for this post. I took my dad to see Sir Paul in Halifax and we were both disappointed that Mull of Kintyre was not on the released disk.

  • His vocal defies the ages, still got it Paulie. Song gives me chills everytime. This tune alone would be listened for generations. I'm a vicarious Scotsman.

  • Yeah.

It*s pity he cant play mostly of his own songs cuz ppl prefer listen Beatle songs.

In the Ukraine, f.e., menedgers asked ppl to make play-list and they include mostly Beatle songs.

  • @katrin2801 many beatles songs he performs were songs he wrote while in the band though

  • Anyone know where to find a high-quality mp3 of this song being played live. It's not on any of Paul's live albums and I can't find it on any boots either. Thanks....

  • YOU ARE SO LUCKY

  • I'm feeling the pride all the way back here ta Scarborough (Toronto). Beautiful, just beautiful.

  • The 78th Highlanders from the Halifax Citadel kick butt... a proud moment for all Nova Scotians and no matter how many times i watch this or hear it on the radio it gives me the chills every frickin time..... Great song and thanks for sharing this video

  • Amazing video! I heard that he only plays it here in Scotland but I suppose Nova Scotia makes sense too as loads of Scots have emigrated there etc (including some of my family). I live in Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre so its great to see him play the song live as I know some of the pipers and drummers on the original recording... here's hoping he'll play scotland sometime soon!

  • 1. He doesn't play it in the states because it wasn't a hit there.

    2. When someone says 'it's made for Boston' they mean that it suits the culture of Boston.

Have respect for people in Boston. Every Christmas since 1971, Nova Scotia has donated a large Christmas tree to the city of Boston in thanks and remembrance for the help the Boston Red Cross and the Massachusetts Public Safety Committee provided immediately after the Halifax Explosion.

  • ... everyone knows the reason it is being sent to Boston. Nova Scotian "children study [the explosion] in school and they know Boston was one of the first responders, and really a lifesaver." The trees "don't often come from tree farms, but from open land where they can grow tall and full." It is so important to the people of Nova Scotia that "people have cried over it, argued about it, even penned song lyrics in its honor."

  • I was at his Fenway concert, and it was amazing! I do wish he had played this song too, along with Junior's Farm and Coming Up - but he pretty much got every other song I really wanted to hear: including Helter Skelter which REALLY made my night. I haven't heard ALL of Paul's stuff yet... and the Fenway concert was actually the first time I heard Flaming Pie and Calico Skies.

  • i know every piper and drummer !wooo !

    go 78ths - we kick ass !

  • This was one of the best moments of my whole life...

  • I saw him do this one in Toronto a couple of years ago. It's was absolutely fantanstic when the (local) pipe band came out on stage!

  • For rethink62! This song was not made for Boston. Kintyre is a place in Scottland. The reason he performs this song in Nova Scotia is because Nova Scotia means New Scottland.... And the people there feel it

  • @citisin23 - and the drummers were all local

  • @citisin23 Correct. Mull of Kintyre is a song tat Sir Paul only plays at venue within the British Commonwealth. When I was at this concert I realized what a special privilege it was to be a witness to this, Even though I am pissed that it is now coming to light that fully half the people at this concert did NOT pay for their tickets, it remains the best concert I have ever seen.

  • Paul only does this song for Scottish and Canadian concerts..... Really!!

  • I wish Paul was doing this song at Fenway Park in Boston...unforunately, Paul is doing the same ol set of songs....it would be great if he would do a different mix of songs now and then....like Juniors Farm, No More Lonely Nights, etc....Paul is the greatest ever but I have heard Drive My Car performed live enough...thanks for posting.

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • Did'nt he play this last tour in Boston dude this song was made for Boston im sure he will play it at Fenway. P.S. went to one of the Citi Field shows it was'nt the same play list as Halifax almost but not the same. Like u said Pauls the greatest if u don't want to go send me your tickets I can listen to Drive my car again. Your going to have a great time enjoy!

  • no twitter /mccartneybrasil

noticias e curiosidade sobre beatles e Paul McCartney

  • thanks for sharing, we so wished we could have been there, but just wasn't in the province at the time.. hope it wasn't the only shot to see Paul.. but great to see this song posted .. and again.. THANKS!!!!!

  • This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I hope someday to see Paul perform it live. Paul only performs this song in Canada when he is in North America. We've got pipers in Seattle Paul... you can do it here if you want!!!

  • I was there ...... <3

  • It breaks my heart that I missed this.

  • I Love Paul.....

  • MMMuuulll of kkkiiiiiiintyyyyyrrrrre.

    Thank you Mr. McCartney.

  • My sis boyfriend was working as the guy who yelled stuff.

  • your sisters boyfriend is mike smith??!!?!

  • No! Matt Logan

  • It was up there on the list of the greatest shows I'd ever seen. I totally get the hype now.

  • Moon over Nova Scotia with my Paulie..

  • Paul please come to Poland!!! Please!

  • And I agree...Canada is totally Awesome..but Norway is winning my heart as well. Love to you all.

  • What a phenomenal concert! It was reeally, really great and I loved every minute of it!

  • I see the King is alive and well.

  • and look! Its Paul ...Sir Paul that is...He's from The Beatles....Wow still going..Cooooolllll!

  • Wow, I thought I seen Bubbles and Ricky.

  • My friends went to this. He played an extra 30 minute set because Canada fucking kicks ass.

  • :D Agreed

  • Right on Clancy...the baby seal hunt has been banned since 1987 but animal rights people seem to conveniently forget this fact!

  • Subscribe to me, and I'll subscribe back and I'll feature you in one of my videos!

  • Really? Really, you put that up there?!?! You DO realize that ANYONE with a brain in their nut knows that the seal hunt's days are numbered. Only a waste-of-space like yourself would bring up such a topic and remind everyone what a back water NFLD is at times (and I'm a NFLD-er). And don't attempt to convince everyone that it's a cultural thing. Kinda like Iran's "culture" of denying its people democratic rights?!!?!? Nice culture. What a contribution to humanity.

  • Oh great, a bleeding heart liberal. How is killing a seal more inhumane then putting a cow in a pen for it's whole life, then killing it? Seal hunts are more humane,

seals are shot these days, it's a quick death, and they don't kill cute lil' baby seals.

That old fart should stick to music rather then use his fame to shove his opinion down other peoples throats, weak minded fools like yourself are so easily won over.

And in the North it IS a cultural thing, and Iran was a useless comparison.

  • Uneducated responces are the worse kind. I respect Paul's opinion because he's a bleedin' vegetarian and probably doesn't want any animals to get killed. It's no surprise he dislikes the hunt.

While the anti seal hunt protesters shout things like "KILL THE SEALERS!" and ignorantly wear their leather belts and coats made from cows who are treated far worse then the cute more photographic seals.

There's far less humanity found in an anti-sealer then in someone who tries to earn a living in NFLD

  • McCartney does not normally play this song in the USA. It was much more popular in Canada and Britain than in the USA.

  • I am going to the show at fenway park. I hope he does the same set list as he did at this concert

  • im going to citi field, ahhh!!! cant wait!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this - when the pipe band walked onto the stage, I broke into tears - I was so struck by the awe of the whole concert. I will never forget July 11 on the Halifax Common - NOBODY can top this man. Love you Paul - please come back.

  • Do a concert in Vancouver too Paul-please. Do remember The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show-the young teenage girls screaming, the boys liked them too, such excitment and new freshness too. From 1964-1967 second to The Beatles were The Dave Clark Five were another great British rock band. The Beatles are unique and the top rock band of all time.Paul since leaving The Beatles actually has put out some great songs such as:Hope of Deliverance,My Brave Face,Jet,Band on The Run and It's A Tug A War album.

  • i was there :) it was so good!!

  • I was at the Toronto concert in 2005 on the Chaos and Creation tour...he did this in the encore with a complete set of local pipers there too...it was awesome.

Also saw him in Montreal in 89 on the Flowers in the Dirt tour.......what can you say, the guy is the consummate showman and entertainer.

Rock on macca, we love ya

  • I can't go to Canada or Scotland, so peradventure Mull of Kintyre in Atlanta or when you finally visit us in Chicago...we can find you some bagpipers.

  • I was there<3

  • He Went to Halifax?!?!?!?!?!!

If Paul doesn't come to Winnipeg i'm gonna Murder Him!!!

  • Halifax was his only Canadian concert...... and I was there!!!!!!!.

  • he went to Quebec City last year, Quebec is in canada

  • Ease up Pablo...it's his only date in Canada this year. I think that was the point.

  • No, he will go to more Canadian Concerts i can feel it, he isn't Zeppelin, he isnt Ac/Dc he isnt Fleetwood Mac, the Bands that will only go to one country and then thats it for that country, he'll go to many other concerts world wide.

  • Yeah, THERE'S a good way to get an insanely famous man anywhere near you. Idiot.

  • He's been there before and he'll go there before just like Ac/Dc and Nickelback.

Plus the guy who works at the Mts Centre could get anyone he wants out here so there is a good chance he'll come to Winnipeg.

    Fuck Off!

  • Wow. That totally went over your head. Moron.

  • What?

  • finally !!!!!

    Mull of Kintyre

  • I'm quite sure he only plays this song when he tours Canada and Scotland.

  • he only played it here (Halifax) because the leader of the pipe and drum band contacted his management team and offered the pipers to play along

  • So simple and beautiful. This song should be on his setlist on ev'ry gig!

  • i was at the very front and center, first concert i've ever seen. how can i top that? and on my birthday!

  • Thats so cool! I get to see him when he goes to Fedex Field, and that's two days after my birthday. I can't wait!

  • he also closed the show with this song when I saw him in Toronto in 2002 and 2005. an absolute show stopper that gave me goosebumps.

  • Eheheheh! I went to that!

  • Now I want to see him again.

  • Gave me goosebumps watching the video, must have been amazing live!

  • I figured this would be on the setlist there. It never is in the States because it wasn't a big hit. I know it was in several countries. What position was it in Canada?

  • Mull of Kintyre, awesome song, unbelievable live. I heard he only plays this song live in Canada and Scotland.

  • I was down front during this

    Goose bumps all over again

    thank you

  • I was there last night too we came down from fredericton NB. Ive seen paul three times live now and the performance of this song has definately the highlight. Wicked concert, no one on earth can match this guys live performance, his catalouge is unequaled.

  • Great song. I am guessing the bagpipes won't be following Paul to NYC.

  • Most likely not lapis lee. He only plays this song in scotland and canada where he can get the pipe band. I was there last night on the commons, in the mob near the stage. I was about 30 feet away. Concert of a lifetime, ill never forget it.

  • what a fucking great dude I LOVE YOU Macca

  • he was amazing!

    best concert everrr!

  • The show was so amazing last night!! I will never forget it! thx to Every single individual who was attending the show! It was awesome because de crowd was the best!

  • The Concert was amazing!!

The Pipe Band is : The 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) A Nova Scotia Band....

  • Was at the show last night. This was one highlight of many. Bit of history. Nova Scotia actually means New Scotland. If you have the opportunity in NYC, Boston. etc this year to see Sir Paul, GO!!!!

  • I live in Nova Scotia but couldn't make it to the concert. Thanks very much for posting the concert videos. Great job, looks like it was an amazing concert.

  • From a person of Scottish descent down in the South, I thought about flying up to Halifax for this show just for this song but am waiting on the Atlanta show as it is cheaper. A million thank yous for posting this!

  • So sorry, though, that you won't get the pipers as well. Apparently, he uses them only in Scotland and Canada. :( It was AMAZING!

  • Wow! Thanks for posting so soon.

  • Great!
