  • the problem is your pulling with a doge they are crap

  • @Longlivehighschool Hope you don't feel slighted if I don't feel inclined to rise to the occasion and defend my choice in pickup truck to you.. Just don't really care if you dig it or not. It's a free country. You get to choose.

  • @rpeek ah sain sain....

  • the car is falling apart, person!

  • was that tree in the bumper even dislodged from the earth? if not, thats what was stopping you and made it fall apart

  • my godd.. thats horrible

  • 300dollar? in the netherlands you have to pay a minimum of 1500dollars...

  • the car is for sale ??

  • @rpeek how much did you pay?

  • @rpeek thats a fair price :o

  • Poor Herby

  • This should be a "how not to" instructional video on removing a car. Great little car, unfortunately you killed the left rear fender so now it can't be original and god know what else underneath it. You do realize that about 6 average sized people can lift these things about 3 feet off the ground right? Pick it up, move it to level land, line up the trailer, and put it on the trailer.

  • @joshuaschargers Thank you for instructing me so that I can measure up to your supurb-ness. I'll try to conform in an appropriate maner going forward... hahahaha

  • @rpeek just trying to stop you from destroying another Beetle before one of us that can rebuild them can get to it.

  • @joshuaschargers Like I said, thank you for your suprub-ness.. Too bad we can't all be like you..

  • @rpeek One thing the world ain't short of is VW Beetles! (Thanks to the British Army for rebuilding the factory after 1945!)

Best use for the flat 4 lump is to convert it to magnetos and fit it in a homebuild plane, maybe I should'na said that, you might be tempted..........

  • @joshuaschargers blah blah original blah blah

  • my aunts husbands grandma had a mid 60´s bug, which now sits on their yard since 5-6 years.. it was nearly rust free and the grandma only owner on it. nw its just moss and shit growing on it,

  • eL o eL random door opening at 0:46

  • I really think this one should be left to rust in peace as they say.

  • @poussecafe3 Too late.

  • Wat n Scheissvideo....wieso macht der hohle Redneck den Käfer da kaputt??

Zu Doof um n Loch in Schnee zu pissen aber n Pick up fahren...

  • chinga a tu madre miles en mexico quisiseramos uno de esos

  • What's it look like now?

  • @SirSmighty Search "Bug Light! Awning! Ugly Stepsister gets a wheel again!" in my vids and you'll see it.

  • Is that a 1963 Beetle?

  • @irishmanclover '62..

  • I dont think it wanted to go with you.

  • . . . so much for the fender.

  • @papageorgieo5 I've still got that fender. It's only a dent. Get over it! That's what hammers are made for... Dang!

  • PERFECT PATINA!!! just needs to be slammed

  • Sorry if i offended you with my comment. I was just trying to be funny. I did'nt know it was you playing the banjo. I thought you had the radio on. I checked out you're channel. Pretty cool stuff. Keep up the good work.

  • @jerywilliams Thanks.. I wasn't offended. I can take a joke.. hahaha.

  • What with the " I got raped by hillbillies on a canoeing trip" music?

  • all this time i was watching and hoping you'd remove or at least prop up that rear fender, BUT NO, you just let it get all bent up. post some more videos when you've made "progress". i can't wait to see you do more damage to this nice little car :))

  • @Rawego I'm afraid all the damage was done long before I got to it.. For what it's worth, it's sittin' safe in my back yard right now, just waiting for me to figure out what's next..

  • I hope you didnt pay much for it, I just bought a good running 61 with no rust for $300

  • @fordxbgtfalcon Double your money on it today if you'd like..

  • @rpeek well the only reason i got it for 300 is because it had been sitting for 4 years and the registration was behind and the people are being evicted from there house. however the car did start right up with some fresh gas. but I think ill tinker around with it for a while before i sell it.

  • @fordxbgtfalcon Glad you got it. A lot of cool cars are being hauled away and crushed these days under similar circumstances. At least this one has a good home. Good for you...

  • It's got sloping headlights & a "parson's nose" number plate light, therefore a very old Beetle.

You must live in a very dry State. It would have rusted away by now, here in the UK

  • You Fucked That wing at 3:39

  • @JJMontages Dang!

  • Whenever I watch you work on the beetle, I say to myself, "I'm gunna get me one of these someday" Great thing is, my neighbor has a red one, and I like to sit and look at it through the window :)

  • @ConstructionBoy111 Yea they're awfully cute.. Fun to look at..

  • I am in need of a little old volkswagen beetle/bug what ever they are called. I own a small old Balboa mini motorhome . It has only a 302 engine so it cant tow much so I bet a volkswagen beetle bug would be perfect in size to tow. I am in New jersey, I think I could even swop a car!. .

  • I own a bug and I'd like to swap it for a dodge ram like that one, what a coincidence

  • lovely rat bug :)

  • You still have this? If so, will you trade me something for the decklid? I could really use it on my '63 .Seriously, I want a piece of this car's perfect patina!!!

  • @cffnmkr13 Yes I've still got it. What ya got to swap?

  • @rpeek Did you get my message? That's only my first offer. I got others. So let me know. Thanks.

  • very cool!

  • good luck

  • Please don't radrod it

  • That fender just got brutalized. :(

  • wats the point hillbillly

  • @MrXXBLOWNXx cause it a vw thats why

  • @masterpoop67 fairnuff then

  • The whole time I was watching, I was thinking that fender's going to get dented. At least you have a positive attitude about it :)

  • hello, i am from holland ! and i love the vw, it is a super ratlook! get the car rolling and drive it!

i also have a 57' very rusti bud i am driving it

    good luck

  • @ovaal83 '57! That's very cool...

  • whats with the damn banjo music lol

  • one word: Forklift

  • This Bug does NOT want to go anywhere.

  • like herbie

  • you cant drive.

  • That one might be a 36 horse or 1200. See if it has a removable generator stand. If it does it's a 40 horse. If not it's a 36 horse. But being a 62....good chance it's a 36 horse. Any motor up to a 1979 1600 dual port engine will fit right on that tranny and bolt up. So it could be a 1500, 1600....who knows. If it has two holes in each intake port it's a 1600 unless somebody put 1600 heads on a 1500. Hope that helps.

  • @4thosewhosleep Thanks for the info. I'll check that out and let you know.

  • @4thosewhosleep I checked. It has the generator stand bolted to the motor, so I guess that makes it a 40 horse, or more if the motor's been swapped.

  • @rpeek Okay...now there's a number right below the generator stand. Some foreign car places and maybe even a Volkswagen dealer might be able to tell you exactly what engine it is. The 36 horse had the number in another place...I believe....good luck....LOL

  • @4thosewhosleep I'll check that number today and let you know what it is.

  • I used get a lot of cheap stuff at Claude Buggies and Johnny's Speed and Chrome. Like fenders and beading...LOL... If that's a 40 horse (1300) motor ya might wanna be careful cause it's a great motor but you'd have a hard time finding parts. I'd do the heads first thing so ya don't drop a valve. Just lap the valves in with some SAE-30, some valve grinding compound and a drill. I always put some of the compound on the cylinder tops and work them into the heads to prevent the heads from leaking.

  • @4thosewhosleep Thanks.. What did the '62 VW come with? 40 hp?

  • @rpeek Accordingly the 62 came with a 40 horse but you have to check the generator stand (under generator holding it up) and see if it's a molded part of the engine case of if you can take it off. (4 bolts)

  • @rpeek That's right around one of the transition years but looking back on some old records ,,, if the engine is original, it's probably a 1200cc 40 horse. Again somebody could have put any engine up to a 1979 1600 (1585cc) dual port motor in it, so you have to verify to be sure as to exactly what motor is in it.

  • yea man rat rod it

  • The Banjo song playing in the background.....priceless!! Good song...what was it? Have fun with Herbie!

  • @bowman62rd Do Lord.. and then it goes into Wayfaring Stranger, and who knows what all else... I just make this stuff up as I go along..

  • @edbird79

    Hows about a Teardrop Trailer!

Check out the video "1974 Volkswagen Beetle & Camper - road test"

  • That has to be something like a '63 or earlier. I had a '63 bug in the 80's and LOVED it! Hope you get 'er going.

  • cool video haha.

  • Rusty One!

    *punches person closest to me*

  • NICE, iwant a herbie :(

  • I hate to say it but that was painful to watch. I could see the bent rear fender coming after the very first tug from your truck. Good luck & I hope you get it out of there without any more damage.

  • @Rarerat No real damage done. That fender's in as good a shape now as it was before.. Just fun to joke about.

  • cool...............

  • lol your poor fender darn.

  • TRIKE TRIKE TRIKE !!!... - You would love it!!.. However it is a TRUE German Beetle.. not an American Imported one.. GLASS LENS COVERS, POPES NOSE Plate Light.. What year?? Obviously pre-67' because of the swing-axle.. :^) had MANY..

  • @berkelusa Nope No trike. Trikes are for sissies..

  • is that a doge ur drivin'?

  • @bkbj95 Yep..

  • Oh the suspense is killing me! Everytime you tug on it, I'm afraid it'll split in two!!!

And that trailer hitch is so rare! That's worth $300 alone! I've been trying to locate one of those for some time for my girl's '70 beetle.

    AWESOME!!! You rule RPEEK!

  • haah"oh dang i dented my fender,it iant worth 3oo dollars anymore" hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gtolover1000 Glad somebody found the humor in that.. hahahaha..

  • get another chain and a tire to take the shock out of the chain when you yank that car.

  • I'm going to have a beer for you.. The old junk isn't worth all the work..

  • I'm thinking it's definitely a '63.

  • I love the patina.. its perfect!!

  • It would be so cool if you could make it just run and leave the exterior like it is now...a driving piece of art...

  • @Meloen5 I can do that. Leave the tree stuck in the back bumper and everything. I think that'd be fun.. Do it on the cheap too..

  • Hey, if I wasn't here I Thailand and was back in Maine, I would be giving you a hand with some of your projects. That is what I miss about home the most. My tools and old cars.

  • You mentioned quarry. Makes me think there was a quarry somewhere near Tomaston or somewhere in that area.

  • @Mainer1945 There's quarrys everywhere up here. They quarried out the granit they built the Washington monument from up here..

  • STILL THINK YOU COULD BUILD A TRIKE ?

  • @davidjoss46 Yea, could, but I'm not really a trike sort of guy..

  • oh just get another fender and put her together!

  • looking forward to seeing what age has really done to the ol girl.

  • Stuff like this is what keeps me coming back to your videos, Rich. Very cool. I love how the tree was growing through the bumper. Life is funny that way sometimes.

  • I can't hardily wait too see that bug crank...

  • The hood, trunk lid and lights are worth something on the old girl as well as the steering wheel and things like that. Someone else might like the doors and if you can get the motor running...

  • @Busia1949 An old VW motor is the simplest thing in the world. There's nothing to it, and nothing to it that can't be fixed or replaced. I used to build them on the kitchen table. I think it'd be fun just to crank this one, to prove that. If I can get the wheels unstuck, maybe drive it around the quarry for a while.. hahahaha..

  • that's ok you didn't need tht rear fender anyways. have you ever saw what the hot rodders do to the VW'S. like vee'ing the front end's.....

  • @quincyoil Yep.. Wicked cool 'eh?

  • Restodan would have that thing runnig and driving ina week!!!!!

  • @motorsportmach What makes you think I won't?

  • @rpeek I think you can too!!! Make a real challange and throw one of those flathead in that bug!!!! HAHA

  • Too bad you don't live closer to me. Could have came down with the ol' 64 Power Wagon and winched that sucker right out.

  • @mrbeefhbw Yep, that'd do the trick..

  • thats not worth 300, still sweet though

  • @pelonissafe I know. Don't rub it in..

  • yea, when i saw you pull it the first time i said to myself "he should have taken that fender off..."

  • Did you pay 300.00 for that?

  • @aaadream Yea, must have been crazy..

  • this is awesome man i love this stuff, can't get enough of it. i would leave the tree stump on the bumper lol.

  • @TheGarnerjustin73 Yea, I'm thinking the same thing...
