People attack the church for the same reason people attacked Christ. The Pharisees believed in their traditions instead of the truth. They believed in prophets that were dead such as Abraham but denied living ones. They even denied Christ. Christ Himself called the Pharisees hypocrites for their attitude. Christ taught things their traditions didn't. We true christians, Mormons, teach the teachings of Christ which is something traditional christians don't teach.

When I see Mormon missionaries on their bikes, I'll wave to them, and ask how they're doing. Make no mistake: I hate the false gospel they're propagating, but there are right ways and wrong ways of doing things, and a lot of Mormons don't deserve the abuse they get. I agree with the former president who is not a member of our church. He's right. I myself am a member and I do call myself a Christian. I have many friends that are of other religions. Secular Humanists have great charitable organizations, but that doesn't convince me into being an atheist. I was a Mormon once a realized how deceitful the LDS Church was. It uses Christian terms, but distorts there meanings so people rely more on doing good works and less on trusting Jesus Christ to change there hearts. Mormons have changed the nature of God, lessened their understanding of sin, and cannot begin to understand the power of God's Grace.

just to correct your last statements, the lds church actually is not the fastest growing church in the U.s. it is true however that the church has baptised about 13 million people living today, but unfortunately more than half of those people do not attend any church functions. the church has a lot of problems with retention, I believe this is because missionaries are pressured to baptize people too quickly, without getting them acquainted with many church doctrines.

The mormon believes that jesus had to attain his salvation from doing good works, the Bible Jesus has no need for needing salvation because there is no sin in Jesus. People attack the church for the same reason people attacked Christ. The Pharisees believed in their traditions instead of the truth. They believed in prophets that were dead such as Abraham but denied living ones. They even denied Christ. Christ Himself called the Pharisees hypocrites for their attitude. Christ taught things their traditions didn't. We true christians, Mormons, teach the teachings of Christ which is something traditional christians don't teach.

Christians and ex-mormons point out all of Mormonism flaws because we are told in the bible by Jesus that it's ok to judge righteously, especially when addressing those in a religion who act like a bunch of pharisees who believe in a lot of contradictory doctrine. We're trying to help prideful people understand that pride is what gets in the way of truly knowing who Jesus is and having a relationship with him.

Churches call it the holy ghost. Others call it the Spirit, which everyone is born with. my two cents. yes some people do attack the mormon church. that in my opinion is just wrong and the should be condemded! when the missionaries show up at your house it is an attack as well. when they tell you that you are wrong and only they have the 1 true church, that is an atack no matter how you sugar coat it! also the jesus of the mormons is not the jesus of the bible. that is why mormonism is a polotheistic cult. christianity is monotheistic. jesus was god in flesh, not the devils brother!

@jtimmis Agreed. To attack Mormons just for sake of attacking them IS wrong and counterproductive. Remember: they've feelings, too. When I see Mormon missionaries on their bikes, I'll wave to them, and ask how they're doing. Make no mistake: I hate the false gospel they're propagating, but there are right ways and wrong ways of doing things, and a lot of Mormons don't deserve the abuse they get. To be fair, though, there *are* some Mormons here on YouTube who ARE as abusive as those THEY decry.

I agree with the former president who is not a member of our church. He's right. I myself am a member and I do call myself a Christian. I have many friends that are of other religions. I have many friends of other races. I love my Savior who is Jesus Christ. Yes we do defend ourselves when we are cornered. Yes we love to share with others what we believe. I don't understand why people say what they do. It hurts. It is important to remember that we are all believer's of Jesus the Christ.

Secular Humanists have great charitable organizations, but that doesn't convince me into being an atheist. I was a Mormon once a realized how deceitful the LDS Church was. It uses Christian terms, but distorts there meanings so people rely more on doing good works and less on trusting Jesus Christ to change there hearts. Mormons have changed the nature of God, lessened their understanding of sin, and cannot begin to understand the power of God's Grace.

I have many friends & family who are still Mormon, so I have to try. Many Mormons live in ignorance, not that they are stupid, they simply don't understand. @omiolo2 No, the deceptive spin is on the part of the LDS church attempting to appear more mainstream, blending into Christianity and away from the original teachings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. The FLDS Church brand of Mormonism is more in tune with what Smith and Young taught. Mormonism in any form is still wrong.

@omiolo I was a member of the LDS church for 12 yrs before I left, so there is NO SPIN or error on my part regarding LDS church doctrine. The FLDS church teachings are closer to the "original teaching of Joseph Smith and B.Young. The LDS Church is a watered-down version of the FLDS church. The LDS church has strayed "away from the original teachings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young" But Mormonism in any form is still wrong.

The Church reported Tuesday that all Church missionaries would be moved out of areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. All missionaries have now been moved to their new areas and are far from areas of concern. .

I pray for the Japanese people and hope that the radiation from the damaged nuclear plants can be contained and that they can rebuild their country and lives. But you know that Japan isn't the only area affected by underwater earthquakes and tsunami's. All coastlines of every continent are at risk.

just to correct your last statements, the lds church actually is not the fastest growing church in the U.s. it is true however that the church has baptised about 13 million people living today, but unfortunately more than half of those people do not attend any church functions. the church has a lot of problems with retention, I believe this is because missionaries are pressured to baptize people too quickly, without getting them acquainted with many church doctrines.

Well Jake, mormons attack Christians first, they come to my door and read a passage out of History of the Church Vol 1 Ch 1:18-20. They attack my faith and say joe smith says all Christian sects, and doctrines are wrong. WOW! joe believes the vision so much that he goes and joins the Methodists then later the Free Masons! joe doesn`t even believe his own vision not to mention the numerous false prophecies he gave. I hope this answers your question why Christians expose {attack} false prophets.

Not only that, but the BOM plainly states that there are two churches: one of theLamb and one of Satan. Since the obvious implication is that the LDS is the church of the Lamb, wanna take a wild guess who the church of Satan is made up of:

sorry for misunderstanding, there's a belief that if someone believes something, they should at least believe they are right, so it's hard for some of us to comprehend the concept of believing, but not believing as seems to be the case with baptists

I dont know who the "we" is, but from my view we have a number of people who actually know, a lot of people that believe those people, and more people that believe those that believe on those who know

i think it was safer for the church population to not combine polygamy and african americans in the pre civil war, and post civil war for that matter. 1 black man with 3 white wives, would tend to get people from the south angry... heard of lynching? we dont like them.

Jesus met the full requirements of the Law. He did what we cannot (and will not) do. If a believer has any merit at all it lies in the imputed righteousness given to him by faith in Christs behavior and accomplishment, not ours. According to the strictest definition, the Catholic Church is also a cult, since its teachings are outside mainstream Christianity. Bob Jones University, at least, classifies both Mormons and Catholics as cultists.
Frankly, I could give a crap. A Christian is someone who follows Christ's teachings, even if they don't understand them. It's good to know the truth and important to follow the strait and narrow path; but if you don't simply because you don't know better, that is not the worst.

We attack Mormonism because the foundation on which it is built is false. You can't have a solid building on a faulty foundation. The hordes of money you give to the Mormon church or the works you do does not save you or make you more Christian. I'm sorry but you better check your facts about the divorce rates. Your values and dogma are nothing near Biblical Christianity.
