  • fritz - Thanks for posting this song/video.

Come listen to this single and more from the 70's, 80's - and now the 90's for the summer - on an Internet radio station you can listen to for free: "OffTheCharts!"

Go to Live365.com and type "Off The Charts" in the Search box. Click on the station logo and the station should begin streaming. There's also a direct link on my YouTube page.

    Thanks, once again!

  • Put a guitar without a busted string in his hand.

  • ...Just give me bread and water, put a guitar in my hand...Yeahh

  • I love this song - it always brings back memories of the hot summer we had in the UK back in 1973. Thanks for uploading.

  • Cheerful bunch aren`t they!

  • i hate it when there's some kid saying how he loves this music and that he is only x years. SHUT UP. Just enjoy the good music no matter how old you are. You're not only one who's 20yrs.

  • tof nummer

  • melodie draga generatiei noastre, a celor ce ne apropiem de virsta de 60 ani...

  • 1:00 minute into the song, this must bet the moment the 'D' string broke.

  • Im 16 and I think we will see a resurgance in modern music sounding more like the classics...

  • @WaitWhatWasThat1 I fuckin hope so man...

  • This is truly amazing.

    I wasn't even born when made (I'm 15 yrs)...

    Amazing... Just amazing!

    Baby Boy xxxxxxxxxxx

  • nice one my all time fav ...

  • Great job of lip-synching...and he managed to break a string, too!

  • Hard to realise all those hot leggy chicks in the audience are all probably grand mothers by now?

  • hey guys

    i am 14 years old

normally i listen to deathcore ( a very hard sort of metal )

but i really like this song..it makes me happy

  • I say Top Gear!!

  • What a song! I cannot forget*

  • I found this song on an old K-Tel record called Fantastic. What a great tune. I'm gonna have to dust off my old turntable and listen to it again.

  • this is good music

  • I'm 18 years old but this guy really knows how to bring power to a deadly simple song.

  • Great music! I bought that album 1973 and it still sound wonderful!

  • So often, I hear people ask "where has the time gone"? Do yourself a huge service. Don't think about it or ponder it. I've been doing it for over 35 years and when the true answers come forth, I psychologically cave in. Just listen to the songs, meditate on the good times they conjure up, and forget the rest. If you ponder the sad memories of the times, you'll likely go insane. I wasted so much of my life and these tunes remind me of that if I let them.

  • My second ever single I bought in 1973. Dad bought our 6 change record player for £11 on credit from Spa Vision which gave me the green light to become a vinyl junkie. I got the most use out of it. Fantastic song, the video is dubbed with the single version, but that's fine.

  • I remember very well this was a hit. I was 19 years old. It was one year before radio Veronica was closing down. I was in love with a girl, but do not know how she is today. I wonder how the girls look today you see on this clip.

  • I spend almost all my time on youtube looking for great old songs like this. Even after more than 3 decades it's such a pleasure to listen to artists with such sincerity in their performances and no angst, cynicism, or profanity in their lyrics. Simple story, genuine musicianship, terrific song. Thanks fritz!

  • Music what it is now and what it was in the earlier days... it has changed so much. There's no soul in todays music. I am a big fan of techno but music of the 70's are more powerful and written with the heart. Musc back then was a form of rebellion. And how I love these pieces of work. magnificent.

  • i believe his son is the guitarist of ny punk band the strokes. This man himself has written , almost as if in obscurity , many ,many , great songs, not least of which are this song and his other two big solo hits "it never rains and down by the river... im a big fan..

  • Possibly the greatest Albert in music...

  • 1 guy has bad hand-eye cordination and missed the like button.

    Such a shame.

  • nice

  • I bought the 45 alright.

  • Well, since this is a televison promotion I guess they're excused; they are with a 100% certainty playing over the track. Lip-syching or whatever. This song is identical to the CD/LP version. Even the fade-out is featured. In short, this is no live performance. But this is a common thing. Love this song though!:)

  • I was approaching the end of my school years. It still stands out today.

  • lol, anyone notice how Richard Hammond looks like Albert Hammond, even though they aren't related?.... Or ARE they? :O

  • wooohooo what a song, wish i was born 30 years earlier XD

  • Exellent record. Didn't it hit the top 10 in the mid eigthies?

  • Merely...the song of my life!

    Not the easy sleepy way!

    The man-way.

  • classic song this one from the 70's and thanks for posting this and also with the lyrics to sing along too, probably could be played this century and still the 'powerful' effect would be the same as it was sang in the 70's

  • @EvilDeadHateCrew it is all your parents that give this to you* It was also such a great time then you know*

  • The only thing I did not like about K-Tel records, was that they always had to condense down the songs. Honestly, one would think Reader's Digest was behind it! LOL!

  • I had that very same record. It was by K-Tel!

  • LOVE ITTT

  • I remember that Gunhill Road song, and the Foster Sylver's song. Boy, we must be old. . .

  • You are right, but still a cool song.

  • totaly agree!!! :D

    ;)

  • Suck!?!

This is how most youngsters felt in the late 60's and 70's

The tasedf freedom and wanted to experiment.

We have gone backwards since then.

  • not the song lyrics but if you look under more info.

the song is great and its lyrics to, but on your right on your screens sucks a little bit :P

  • Thanks, Now I understand you :)

  • K-tel 8-tracks and LP's! I think this was on 22 Fantastic Hits, or something like that. I can't believe I'm old enough to remember these things. Damn!

  • Yes, I had that K-Tel album; it had Jerry Jeff Walker's "LA Freeway" on it.

  • "family man" not "familiary man"

"my happiness was paid for" not "made for"

    "neatly ordered hair" not "nearly"

"deep rooted" not "the rootel attitudes"

  • i love this song. i listen to it religiously.

  • you mean every Sunday?

  • great video! BTW its "Very fast" not "on grass"
