  • hey it's been two years does this thing still work?

  • hey what's up i just got my standard edition fight stick and i can't keep my hands off of it so if you have a psn you can add me to play any fighting games or just games in general, my name is Reapers0095 if anyone's interested add me.

  • I've heard a lot of things about how this stick breaks. Would anyone recommend picking this up to play MvC2? The tournament editions are too expensive to be an option.

  • Now you just need to deck it out with Sanwa ;)

    I love this fightstick btw, better than the TE imo cuz it takes up a lot less room, and achieves everything it needs to - and with the Sanwa parts and 8 way restrictor even more so, plus it works like a champ with Mame on the pc ;

  • boring unboxing. talk more in the next one. use it. flip it when you open it. whatever. this was way to cold

  • Update: My fightstick has been working great up until last month. Start button has been working on and off, and the A button sometimes stops working for a few seconds. Sent it off for warranty repair on the 23rd. Hope everything turns out ok.

  • @Temjin99

So far so good, been working great with no buttons dying or anything. Heres looking forward to Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken.

  • how much u bought it? mine was 50 bucks in frys woot

  • @franzken That sucks. What ever happened? Did you get it back? is it still working?

  • if you like to play charge characters then it is better to get a square gate.

  • Yes.

Circle and Octagon are better for Sudo characters.

  • hey how much did ur SE fight Stick and how much if ur going to mod it with sanwa parts??

  • I got my stick for $80.00. bought a sanwa joystick & 8 sanwa buttons for $54.00. It feels so much better. Still cheaper than the TE edition. It was easy to install the buttons & joystick.

  • without moding the arcade stick i spent like $40

  • this is a good stick fuck what everyone says!

  • i love the beggining and the music

  • I dont know about the stick but the buttons look a lot better than the Hori Ex2 ones i also heard that the Hori ones stop responding after a few months of playing with em ..

  • I had this Standard Edition for a week, sold it and got myself a Tournament Edition stick instead. If anyone doesn't own a stick yet and wants to buy one, I'd say definitely go for the Tournament Edition. It's worth it.

  • Say, is the headphone jack for just the headset or can it work for both the headset and an headphone? When I play my games, i like to listen to the music with headphones at the same time.

  • Dude, nice music selection for the display, I wish the vid was verbal with your opinions though.

  • does the stick run in a square?

  • Yeah the stick does have a square restrictor, but it's easily moddable if you want an octagonal one.

  • Capcom got Madcatz to manufacture the SF 4 sticks with Capcom overlooking the design process and Madcatz also use Sanwa arcade joystics and buttons for the TE edition which makes it the best Arcade stick their is. Madcatz have a manufacturing problem making the TE editions with scratches on the surface which they will only replace if they are real bad so 0/100 for quality control. The standard version swops the Sanwa buttons for Madcatz own buttons which are crap.

  • Wrong. The MadCatz buttons are fine, nothing is wrong with the standard version now that the manufacturing issue has been sorted, sure the Sanwa are better but the buttons and joystick in the standard are NOT "crap".

I used a Hori EX2 for a while but didn't actually own it, bought a SE stick and prefer the MadCatz as it felt more precise.

I wouldn't bother paying extra for the MadCatz if you can find the Hori EX2 cheap though, there's just not that big a difference.

  • They arent crap, but arent as sensitive and break easy if you take them out...The stick is a different story, not as responsive by far compared to name brand joysticks.

  • 3rd strike music is pwnage. capcom really hit the nail on the head with that game.

  • whats name of the track you got going in the background... sounds Persona-ish :)

  • lol what? its a street fighter 3 track

  • is this better then the hori real arcade pro 3? someone please tell me, im looking to getting my first stick

  • I think that Hori is the best fighting stick maker. They make very nice quality sticks.

  • thats not what he asked.. hes asking if the madcatz se stick is better than the hori real arcade pro 3 stick... yes hori make good sticks but the man wants a comparison...

  • i just bought this today but sometimes the stick doesnt click is this normal? wtf

  • I think most people would PREFER that! ^_^ As long as it works you shouldn't worry.

  • se sucks te rules

  • I must say, Im a bit annoyed the Tourney edition didn't come with the moves list decal. Its a nice little freebie!

  • Just posting a quick update: Day 3 of heated SFIV matches and no problems with the SE stick yet.

Also El Fuerte and Abel are awesome newcomers.

  • I've also had no problem with mine. Today was day 5 since I recieved it and it works great. I believe it was only a few number of the sticks that had an issue, my buddies who have them haven't had problems and they play more than I do.

  • This music sounds like a remix of the "Grade" music from Street Fighter 3 third strike. If so do you know where I can get the track from?

    Its sounds so freakin sweet.

  • actually what you think is the remix is the original version.

I heard these SE sticks are defective so I looked on youtube for proof...

    doesn't seem to be any.

  • get of of these and swapout everything for sanwa

  • Just got my SE last night. The stick is loose and not as impressive as the TE. Definitely not Sanwa.

However veterans might be surprised by the sensiivity of the buttons themselves. The buttons are probably not going to be as durable as the Sanwa/Seimitsu's, however one cannot complain about their sensitivity.

Consider getting the SE, upgrading the stick to Sanwa/Seimitsu and possibly replacing the buttons down the road. I am very impressed with the SE stick.

    I highly recommend it.

  • Yeah, not high quality as the TE, but its better than the stock hori fighting stick 3 or EX2 (PS3 or 360). Great for modding like you said as well. Hope that after the SE and TE stick release, other companies step up to the plate to offer great arcade sticks at decent prices.

  • Definitely. One thing a lot of people aren't realizing is the SE is just as moddable as the TE. You can fit parts without soldering. Everything is quick disconnect.

No clearance issues with the buttons or the sticks. You can use quality Sanwa/Seimutsu parts easily, with no pad hacking, cutting, filing, soldering like you would a Hori.

You're 9 year old brother could mod this stick.

The stick has a nice amount of weight, and it's compact size actually makes lap use very comfortable.

  • I love the se stick. Its good to finally hear some positive feedback from people about it XD

  • Would you recommend it for a beginner that barely plays arcade fighters? I mean I love fighters but I also mostly play them controls. So, SE is good enough for me?

  • I would simply wait till the complaints force the price to come down, after it's cheap enough go to a site that sells either Sanwa or HAPP parts (your pref) and replace the current crap that's in there.

After this, it's MOTHERFUCKING WIN!!! all the way.

  • The sticks are usually for people how know their stuff not really for new players. I would highly recommend that you invest in buy the fighting D pads instead + like the dude below said is, to wait till the prices go down, or till there more actually real reviews and less sales men reviews, cause Madcatz has a rep for making terrible products that malfunction easily.

  • That's why you should buy a hori stick instead of this shit....madcrapz for the lose.

  • Yep! I already have Xbox 360 ones, they've been working ever sense, but I'm still no fan of Madcatz, so i'll stay clear from these, but it does look nice though XD!

The only things i've been hearing is that they stick, some say they've had error messages. It not really that bad, but the fact that those problems are happening so soon makes you wonder though lol.

  • gyea just got mine last night, its pretty good especially if you have a 360 like me cuz playing with the regular controller aint the same unless its a playstation controller, but gvyea works really good, take alil time to get use too but once u get it down u da dam king, trust me u be pulling off hadoukens and hurricane kicks from either side like a champ,

  • Are you going to do a video on reviewing it?

I really wanna pick one of these up but it would be awesome to tell me the good and bad things about it :]

    Thanks

  • The good things are its cheap it works and everything else only bad thing i have found is the joystick its a jap stick soo its a square insted of circle but no biggie iam changing it all

  • I pre ordered this stick at some Dutch on-line shop. I hope I get mine in time for the Dutch release, but that won't happen I guess.

I heard some bad things about the cheaper Street Fighter 4 Madcatz controller that looks like a Saturn pad. I hope this stick will fare a lot more better, but then again Madcatz hasn't got a great rep. I'm scared.

  • Dont be. The gamepads really arent bad at all. Alot better than the 360 standard controller for fighting games, and abit better than a dual shock with a decently used d-pad. They really worked with Capcom and other arcade stick/fighting enthusiasts to create some quality stuff. Its alot better than Mad Catz past products (i've had bad experiences with them too).

  • Have we fought before?

  • No we havent but Im a tournament champ and uh.. I KNOW you cant beat me. ok

  • Well I guess that would make you pretty good if you're a tourny champ. Of course there's a first time for everything.

  • Lol anyway nice vid
