BLUE BEATLE: "one punch" aw man I LOVE that comic then a couple issues later hits his head on the table a FEW MORE issues then guy's all mister nice guy :)
@michaeldublg actually it was George clooney and val kilmer portrayal of batman that was the furthest away from the batman character. I for one and im sure a lot of other people appreciate this lighter batman sure some episodes got repetitive but it was great show . There were also some great episode too like chill of the night and much more
@Clix2001 not yet, this is before Sinestro goes evil. He gets kicked out of the Corpse becasue they find out he was abusing his power and he gets a yellow power ring and becomes a bad guy with a grudge against Hal. Before that he's like Hal's mentor and guide.
This scene is a tribute to an old justice league issue where guy gardener was talking smack about batman. Batman walks up to guy and asks him if he has something to say to him and before he as soon as he starts talking batman knocks him out with one punch in front of all the other heros in the room
@thahotkidd: The original from the 80's was better because Gardner had an ongoing feud with Batman and had been built up as an obnoxious idiot for a long time, so it was pretty long awaited.
I love how he says "Just for the record I let you do that." and then adds "so whats the plan?" all that after batman throwing orders around and Guy refusing.
@dac314 He's one of the first heroes who first fought Doomsday... in fact, he was the very first hero who attacked Doomsday in "Death of Superman". Although Doomsday mopped the floor with him and everyone else, Guy is one of the heroes who got luckier. Others weren't so lucky. Blue Beetle was hospitalized, Fire lost her powers for a while, Booster Gold had his suit torn apart and Ice got a broken arm and ribs. Oh, and Superman died or something...
@ClassicToonFan64 It's a good superman killed doomsday though, and guy fought BRAVELY and great as well, so i give him props(I saw the comic video ;) ).
@dac314 No matter what anyone says, Guy's a douche with a gay haircut who gets his ass kicked by Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner everyday. Getting his ass kicked in every fight doesn't make him bad ass, it makes him a douche with a gay haircut.
@PolarBearRepublic This scene is the equivalent of me marching into a police station or army base, declaring myself leader and punching out any cop or soldier who takes issue with me. But I guess Batman IS a brilliant judge of character if he figured Guy would take his crap and that Sinestro and G'Nort wouldn't lift a finger to protect their comrade.
@PolarBearRepublic Guy Gardner is an arrogant, violent hothead with a power ring who doesn't see Batman as his legitimate commander (and he has a point, there). What do you think his logical reaction should have been?
Gardner had a point. By what right could Batman declare himself leader and think he could discipline Guy with violence? Why didn't Guy rip him apart with his ring?
no one can match up to batman in this serie its retareded. They should have Batman say, Batman is strongest there is.. before he jumps into a fight...
Of course Batman knocked out Guy Gardner with one punch.....The show is called Batman: Brave and the Bold....If the show was named Guy Gardner The runner up GL then Bats fist would have shattered on impact to impress on the sheep in the audience of how awesome Guy is....
@mindyourowndamnself No, dude. They did this to honour something that's been going on as a huge joke in the comics. It happens in a scene where Batman is the leader of a superpowered group of heroes and Guy Gardner gets in an argument with Batman questioning his leadership. Guy Gardner then takes off his ring and asks to fight Batman, in which Batman replies with a single punch that knocks him out. The Bluebeetle then falls into a fit laughter remarking that it only took Batman one punch to win.
@m4o69 I loved that issue, but in this cartoon scene Guy does NOT challenge Batman to a fistfight. This makes me wonder why Guy didn't smack down Batman with a big green boxing glove, because Guy was not honor-bound to let Batman off the hook.
@m4o69 yeah I read that one. There's also one where Blue Beetle had kinda gotten fat and he and Guy got into it and Guy attacked him and hurt him. The whole League turned against him for a long time after that but I seem to recall it was a driving force in Blue Beetle dropping the weight and trying to be taken seriously again (not to mention Guy's whole flirtation with using Sinestro's yellow power ring since he got booted out of the Corpse for fighting Hal sometime later).
@cris6668 what i meant was the continuity errors this show has. Sinestro was a Green Lantern more then just a while ago while Jaime Reyes became the Blue Beetle during Infinite Crisis in 2005 I believe. That just doesn't synch up right.
