I lvoe this! Personally I would love to have an indoor porch that was enclosed from the weather but that I could decorate in any woodsy or jungle style I could imagine. This would be a GREAT addition as the ground texure using immitation grass and since the "trip" wires are capacitance activated it would require you to walk around barefoot which be so cool. Love it, thanks for sharing!
can't wait to see the implementation of this technology in the future. imagine... i dunno... previously "boring" urban gardens now enlightened with such smooth dots of light. that'd be so relaxing -and romantic too
it's just some optic fibers with leds goddamn it. an the whole idea was to put the damn things in the "grass"?! jeez, it's plain ugly, implementation sucks.
can you explain me how are those wires (touch sensitive) works, and can we get some schematics

Hi Mr. Smith! I cut your new grass for you!

@Chemnut220 It's funny that you said that - I was thinking the same thing, lol. If you cut it, you are going to destroy it.

personally, i think that if used, it should be completely fiber optics, with rows of leds and the nearest ones light up based on touch

Interesante el tema del césped, pero HORRIBLE la música que le han puesto a la presentación.

If this technology becomes successful, I'm guessing the grass around the white house will be replaced with this to combat cloaking technology.

I'm going to make a logical fallacy by saying that this might lead to virtual plants and reality might only exist in a virtual world.
Ok, other than that awesome. :)

I realy like the concept! Think of laying in the grass in the evening while it lights up around you!

That's cool. But what would you do about cutting the grass?

Awesome. This would be great at Burning Man, or at an Avatar simulation!
