  • Is this guy for real??

  • sjwpiano..i am a classical pianist and had the blessing to have learned from great teachers..one being a student of rachmaninoff when she was in russia before the communist revolution...i am AMAZED that you play the way you do with so little formal training and kept your love for the music since childhood! KEEP IT UP. if i may suggest: play your phrases COMPLETELY TO their endings, savor them...rather than try to rush to the "next phrase" . u know what i mean...

  • You played this piece with complete disregard for the composer's instructions. And why are your hands flying off the keyboard in the slow section(which, by the way, was much too fast). Not good at all.

  • Stephen has not had the benefit of years of lesson under a master. He is pretty much self taught. He plays for the pleasure of it and appreciates constructive comments. He began as an adolescent with about 2 months of lessons. The above video response will let you see him develop.

  • I appreciate your honesty and candor. I have a profound appreciation for pianists who have developed the skill and discipline to perform masterpieces in line with the composers express intentions and love to hear them perform. I, however, am more interested in self-expression and use the works of great composers more as a platform on which to build. Thus I expect as my skill improves, my playing will reflect the original intent of the composers less and less.

  • @rcschumann Does it matter, i may be young, but i think he perfected it as i am very well into classical music.
