What a beautiful song, Haven`t we all been in situations like this?? Walter Jackson knows life and he knows how to express feelings in an outstanding way...I`m impressed.
One of the greatest times in my life was being a young man and discovering the sound of Chicago soul, and such gifted singers as Walter Jackson, Gene Chandler, Curtis Mayfield, Tyrone Davis and so many others. In my case, that was in the 1970s and early 1980s, when my peers were listening to punk and disco. Not this guy - give me Walter J. anytime! They don't make 'em like this anymore. Thanks for the memories, Walter - you are missed - but your music lives on forever.
yea that chicago was the place to be back in the day cause it was happing on 47 th st and 55th ,63,79,83, all the streets that the clubs was jumping and any star you want to see just be at the right place and sometime some people would gve you a headup on the next spot, those were the days.
One of my greatest pleasures was watching my children discover Walter Jackson. Haven't seen the CD since. This is my first time hearuing this version ...as nice as the original.
funny hoe great music catch our ears and let it in to out soul and make our feeling come to the for front and get us to realize that we are not all that and a bag of chip but the music is good to the bone and i say who do we have to thank for that so look to the sky now lol
This remake is just as great as the original. I remember that when he recorded this version that he was in a wheelchair and they had set up a mike in the elevator shaft to record him. He did it in 2 takes....he was fantastic and he is remembered and missed and I cherish the memory of his music.

This is version #2.
Both great records, but #1 had the female
backing him to the bone.
I read it was the ladies who later worked
with the SPinners on Could It be I'm falling
in Love.

MUSIC IS POWER! Check out the Richard Ashcroft song that samples the instrumental/string track of this tune! Interesting stuff!
