I will also be staying in Hoshien dorm for a year in a month, and I would also like to ask you a question about the facilities (in true Japanese fashion, the info they've given me is somewhat lacking). I will also be staying in the 3rd building. I was just wondering if you have an internet connection in your room, because my papers only mention a fee for use of internet in the common rooms. Also, is it possible to go out after 1am, when the doors close, or definitely not? Thank you!
I'm going to be staying at Hoshien dorm, Waseda for a year in a month or so and happened to come across your video (lovely view, by the way, out of the window!). I wondered if you might be able to tell me a little bit about the dorm (is it far from Waseda, kitchen and bathroom arrangements and the like), because I really can't find anything online about Hoshien in particular.
If there's anything you can tell me about the place, I'd be really grateful :)
Great experience. Make sure you make a friend on the top floors. From some of the balconies you can see Mt. Fuji on clear days. It was cool to see it slowly get covered with snow as the semester moved on.
thats an awesome view

Mark, there are three different buildings and #3 is the newest. Kitchen is shared per floor, you have a toilet in your room, shower is in the hall.
Hoshien is pretty centrally located near the waseda campuses. I was in business school and it took me at longest 10 minutes to get to class.
it was actually a lot cheaper than i was expecting, I hope you find it the same1

Thank you for the info! :)
I'm looking forward to getting there in a couple of weeks from now!

I'll be in Hoshien #3 for a year starting this September. Though my room is on the first floor, so I guess no view for me. =(
Looks nice anyway. How was your stay at Waseda and the dorms?

I also lived in Hoshien on the 8th floor 2004-2005... but you seem to have the better view.
