*Sigh* it turns out they should have been working on robots that could work in Nuclear Plants. Incidentally this isn't just a flip remark I read an article today that informed me that the robots that are currently working in the Fukushima plant were ironically, built by an American company, iRobot (that designed the Roomba). I think in the future, Japan should be designing fewer pretty-woman androids and kung-fu robots and more practical designs instead...

I have seen international competitions where they battle this type of robot. The competitors are not able to modify the robot itself, yet they can reprogram the way it reacts when they execute commands. The goal is either to topple the opponent or in some cases toss them out of an area... much like sumo wrestlers. They start in a stand still position and sometimes try for leg sweeps or all out tackles!

A martial arts based or improvised fighting tournement where customized robots battle in a designated area...two or more rounds...kinda like robot wars but...cooler...I think that would be REALLY cool.
