I went to that show, too... it was hilarious fun. BTW, I got that one all on tape and digitized also... some day I may put some of the better clips online here.
CONGRATULATIONS to Dom (Lead Guitar / Vocals) and Chris (Keyboards) and Nick (Bass) for making West Coast Nationals School Of Rock All-Star Band 2008. I'm THRILLED if this video was one reason you made it. You've all improved a ton in the last year. Can't wait to see your all-star show when your band visits Salt Lake City! ALL of you play so well together as a group. (Matt, too!)
You should know that the video recording person (me) was standing RIGHT ON TOP of the house speaker, certain instruments are directed through certain speakers so you get a somewhat distorted mix of instruments. For example, the vocals are almost non-existent at the front of the stage, as are drums. It's possible the keyboard was directed more toward that speaker. The clarity is good, the mix wasn't the best.
Let me tell ya...the kid can play that lead guitar. The bassist was rocking out...excellent job. And the drummer was working his butt off. VERY GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this song was SO amazing live. i couldnt stop dancing! Chris is a wonderful guitarist, and personally, i dont think the keys are that bad. great job guys!
Alright already, we know the keyboard part is a bit weak and missing some of the "solo parts" on keys. Chris Stevenson is primarily a guitar player and singer ...
check out some of Chris' guitar playing and singing in other videos I have, k? (Particularly the Queen Show) I think someone mentioned he'd been playing keys for 3 months at the time of this show. Considering the time he's been playing a new instrument, it's okay (how did YOU sound after 3 months on keyboards?) The video still ROCKS!!! and it's one of my favorites.
Totally agreed. Matt's precision drumming seems not a huge focus and one tends not to notice - the song defintely would not have been as good without his help. HOWEVER, if you watch the last 90 seconds of this video, and that's my favorite part -- everyone is just rolling and Matt is right in there with the rest of them rockin' his heart out. Nice work Matt!
I never wanted to insult you by any means. you guys are very VERY talented when it comes to your instruments. By no means was i trying to insult or hurt you. If I casted the wrong impression, I apologise, but I am glad to see that they're taking lessons.
Although this is perhaps one of the BEST 'sounding' shows ever put on by PGSORM for overall mix, you also must realize vocals are the WORST mixed part of this video, since they are projected to center of house and I'm taping far side stage. Maybe some day I'll get a soundboard audio to mix with future shows :)

I think the only reason the piano sucked was because he was trying to lower it. it was too loud compared to the other instruments.
