Their sirens are real mechanical air sirens, with a variable-speed motor for pitch control and a damper for cutting out notes. The glowing amber horns are for effect, but inside the enclosures are real sirens. Their effect with the ensemble is amazing, and must be incredible in person. Anyone know the title of the piece the Trombone Collective/Mecanique Vivante sirens play in the vid showing their performance commemorating the Rotterdam bombing? And is there another video of that great piece?

The piece is called Terschelling Act 2. Part of a complete program for 25 trombones and sirens, composed by Andrew Peggie.

The effect with the sirens is very nice when you are live at the concert.
