Its funny how all the shops and mags that demo this guitar never flatpick it, or if they do, they baby (no pun intended) their picking because...... the guitar overloads and distorts with firm flatpicking quickly. If you're a strummer, you will not like this guitar.
@coolman4yo I know what you mean. When I first got this I didn't like the way it sounded when strummed, or even "piano clawed" which is how I play a lot. But after a lot of gauge changes I found that Elixer light-mediums work with this perfectly. I'm surprised the people at Taylor don't know this. Well, I'm sure they do but I bet they don't give a shit.
@coolman4yo What are you talking about? loads of people who have reviewed this have flatpicked it and it sounds awesome! Ive played this guitar and its great, make sure you know what you are talking about:)
I thought I was the only one. Man...thanks for backing me up on that. I have demo'd no less than 8 of them, and all buzzed like crazy with light strumming, and half simply had dead sounding strings....usually E, e and b.
its a great guitar for the price whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced player. i use it more than my martin which is 3x the price no matter where i am. very comfortable and beautiful sound. get it!
I believe this is the nicest guitar money can buy, I played damn near every guitar from £200 - £2000 this guitar has something incredibly special it just feels like part of you once you begin playing it. It's the best guitar I have ever bought I CANNOT put it down it's beautiful.
@ghaibboy Do you mean, do you I work for Taylor? . . . No, I've never owned a Taylor guitar till now and I am in NO WAY affiliated with Taylor at all.
@xDet3rmin4tionx.. I'm with you on this one mate. I've got some very pricey tonewood boxes gathering dust on their wall hangers, while the GS Mini gets a regular thrashing. Great "Go-To" geetar for all playing styles.
Sooo comfy and light to hold compared to a dread.
I use Martin SP Mediums on all my guitars. OK it doesn't sound like a D28, but dig in and it's LOUD n proud with a great bright tone of it's own. I have the es go pup, works fine, noiseless, well balanced.
