  • 1:46- 2:14 is where i start getting chills from this song. LOVE that part ever since i played this back in 2006 or so

  • wow, the beginning part sound like Surgam identidem , then choir part sond like song of storms and fire

  • I was wondering if you knew the name of the soundtrack which plays when

    * SPOILER*

Shion summons the Gnosis when she sees her "mini me" with her dead parents

  • Kajura is AMAZING until you hear a second soundtrack from her. Everything she writes is absolutely identical. You wouldn't figure it'd get boring but it does. I missed Mitsuda, personally. Mitsuda is probably my favorite game composer.

  • @Meringue23 The Xenosaga, .hack//sign, and Petite Cossette soundtracks all have very different feels. Sure, a lot of her music is thematically similar, but to say it all sounds "absolutely identical" is pretty unfair.

  • @Meringue23

I understand your point, and I agree to some extent, but I think you're exaggerating. In her first soundtracks, she managed to create different osts while still maintaining her style. The problem is that nowadays she just adapts the series she is composing for to her style, instead of doing the opposite. Also, she does not try to give a different flavor to her soundtracks anymore. I don't miss Mitsuda though. Never liked his work for Xenogears and Xenosaga that much.

  • I love how profound this game is...episode two was screwed up but I still love this game no other game has been so captivating...after all this time I still hope for the continuation of the story...sigh

Btw thanks for this upload. amazing song!!!

  • some parts sound like a remix of 'storm and fire' but I kinda like how an artist can just grab parts from epic songs to make another epic song.

PS: the part that sounds like storm and fire starts around 1:25

  • @CycloneEX Holy crap you're right, it does sound like A Song of Storm and Fire.

  • beautiful!!!

  • oh god please! where can I download this song?!

  • @FlareStar100 khinsider

  • OH MY GOD!! OH CRAP! OH, OOOOHHH- I've been lookin' for this song for years-YEARS!! I heard it years ago, looked up Xenosaga 3 final boss, and kept getting a different song, oh my, oh MY GOD, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

  • Yuki Kajiura! I knew this style sounded familiar.... she also did the music for the Kara No Kyoukai movie series, and a lot of the same stylistic touches are present (leitmotifs repeated in different styles, big choral flourishes, etc.)

  • WILL THERE EVER BE A EPISODE 4 i really hated how it ended like for real

  • Fuck me. It's already been 5 years? :(

  • aww look at kos-mos :)

  • Man this is one of the best RPG games I played when I needed a little bit of healing to do as in emotionaly but this track totally rocks. Xenosaga III made me cry big time but some part of it made me do the things i did like steal the cookies from the cookie jar.....jk but still it made me cry and weep sometimes I even got angry at the game for no reason and still it gave me luck.

  • Xenosaga is one of my fav game series. I think its underrated.

  • Totally reminds me of the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle OST.

  • @MFinGaryOak Ah, just realized it's teh same composer. Makes sense.

  • @MFinGaryOak lol

  • Why oh why did they have to screw up Xenosaga 2, we could have had a 6 part series and it would have made Xenosaga even more epic than it is now.

  • is this the final boss theme ?

  • I listened to this song. I was like "OMG I need this game" so I made some researches and and found out that... this game was never released in France. There's too much wonderful games that are never released in France. It's such a pain...

  • @Silver7195 Try looking for it on Ebay or something :)

  • @Silver7195 Since it was for PS2, you could TECHNICALLY illegally get it on an emulator, but like I said, it's illegal.

  • This Song is pretty cool! ^^

  • Best boss theme ever.

  • @sharpedox Ditto.

  • Motoi is not a woman and yes he uses a lot of electric guitar because he's a progressive rock person. Personal Opinion is opinion. >:

  • I wonder, if we start a petition for the continuation of Xenosaga, and reach a good number, will they consider making the last 3 episodes? I'm all for the continuation, but as long as they do it well. If they are to release a rushed product, I don't want it, because it would ruin such a perfect series.

  • what is actually up with that German subtitle? i mean this is a japanese game, isn't it ?

  • @SigmaRidley

Borrows quite a bit from the concepts found with Friedrich Nietzche's books. In this case, the concept of Eternal Recurrence... though I think that concept is found in a previous book.

  • I love how elements of Communications Breakdown from Xenosaga II are brought into this piece.

  • OH YUKI THIS IS JUST SO EPIC!^^

  • Kos-mossssssssssssssssssss

  • I am totally lost into the music, so EPIC and Motivational...

  • Just found this song by looking for songs by Yuki Kajiura, and, as expected, it's awesome! Btw, can anyone tell me what platform this game was for and what year it was released in?

  • @animeglok This game was released on PS2. I'm not entirely sure what year, but I'm thinking it was around 2006.

  • @animeglok This game is for ps2, and it was released in 2006, IF I remember correctly.

  • This song IS Yuki Kajiura.

  • Xenosaga III has the best soundtrack i've ever heard in any game.

  • I will never forgive nintendo, or the creators of Xenosaga for this, for promising this pain, promising it, by ending the Xenosaga series earlier. Thats what this song is, its Promised Pain.

  • @ultimatezero117

True but at least Xenosaga gave us the final conclusion...unlike Shenmue for example

  • esta cancion tambien sale en tsubasa n_n

  • @Shunraiki03 La banda sonora de Xenosaga III y Tsubasa son de la misma compositora, Yuki Kajiura, ahora si, esta cancion no sale en Tsubasa.

  • I cried at the end of the game. This song makes me remember everything, especially at the climax of the song, its like the song of a Goddess of Epicness. I can't even describe it....

  • It's really sad that Xenosaga had to end this way. Seriously, this game was epic. Epic story. Epic musics. Epic (well, well done for its time) graphics. Epic characters. Epic cinematic. You could easily fall in love with those characters. Everything was deep. Xenosaga deserved a better fate.

  • @LiuHry So true. It can't... end like this.

  • @LiuHry I like how everything is epic but gameplay, apparently. And that's why Xenosaga deserved to die, it was a shitty game that should've been a visual novel.

  • @Meringue23

But the gameplay in III was actually pretty good.

  • @LiuHry I think I couldn't agree with you more. This game was perfect in every way. PS3 games should use this game as an example.

  • insert epic cutscene here....

  • 14999th view, damn.

  • @ElliotCarver Now 15056 xD. Thx everyone!

  • @darkcloud7892 now 25,293

  • @darkcloud7892 more than doubled now, currently 33081

  • @darkcloud7892

    67551

  • @darkcloud7892 What do you mean 15056 people?!?!? this epic music has now got you more then 70,000!

  • its been so long since i payed those games, damn this was such a good game. fuckin great music too.

  • what genre of music is this

  • @1124neal1124 id call it epic.

  • @1124neal1124 orchestra & choir

  • @1124neal1124 The "Epic" genre.

  • @1124neal1124 IM NOT QUITE SURE BUT IF ITS YUKI ITS POP CLASSICAL.

  • the game was long but at the same time not that long

  • Uh huh..

  • it's been a while since i beat all three games my. i hated that jin died he was one of my playable characters. My ideal team was Momo Jr and Jin.

  • kosmos and jin died at the end =( i wish theres anime for xenosaga3, but theres only anime for xenosaga1

  • KOS-MOS didn't die, actually. She floated towards Lost Jerusalem and presumably landed on it.

  • Yuki Kajiura almost beats Motoi Sakuraba. @.@

Maybe in the epic department, though Valkyrie Profile isn't to be looked down upon that. Eh. Both wonderful.

  • Agreed

  • @Ziogen Motoi is pretty fantastic, but a lot of his soundtracks are very mediocre. If you compare Tales of the Abyss /Star Ocean 3 with Baten Kaitos or Eternal Sonata, you wouldn't think they were by the same person. Still even his Tales or Star Ocean trakcs always have a few songs you can just listen to over and over again. I would say his main problem is he uses electric guitar waaaaaaay too much. Like an electric guitar solo does not belong in an ancient ruins level, for example.

  • @Ziogen Almost beats Motoi? Pft. She does beat her :/

  • @UltimateTibu Star Ocean's OST rivals Xenosaga's and you know it. >:

  • @Ziogen You heard the person below, most of the songs that woman does are mediocre, which means Xenosaga's music is the superior one <o<

  • Epic

  • Beautiful song, this is one of my favorite songs. This games songs were so amazing, this was an awesome boss theme. Austin Unland.

  • absolutely grand finale for a epic game! *sigh* why did it have to end already???

  • @darkshock55 Cuz there where people that rather go for very high budget games. Normaly its supose to be 6 episodes not 3. After episode 1, some people left. Then after episode 2, more people left. They where losing money and had enough for one more which was episode 3.

Overall the xenosaga series was vary popular in Japan, others, not so much.

  • @Joehop777 oh yes, that i already know, it was more a rhetorical question than anything else, but it was so good, the graphics were excellent for episode III, and the music and atmosphere..... too bad the sales didnt match the awesome potential for a budding, and what would have been a grandiose game series... did you notice how the female characters were becoming more scantily clad as the series progressed? :)

  • @darkshock55 Yeah I realized that too. But when it comes to design, best outfits and most fitting style for the series.

  • @darkshock55 I know this is a year late but the games didn't sell either in Japan or in the states. So they took episodes 3, 4, 5, and six and turned them into TL;DR database entries and TL;DC exposition and just ended the series. Know that 40 minute monologue about Lemegeton? Well that arc was supposed to be the 3rd and 4th games.

  • @nerdycub Theres also the Lost year movie.

  • Its Deus not Deuce, morons. Also Xenosaga and Xenogears DO NOT take place in the same Universe. They only share some similarities, since they are made by the same people.

  • It is Deus, not Deuce. Xenogears and Xenosaga however do take place in the same universe. Xenogears was 'Episode 5' in the series, but due to basically the fact that you can't keep a story running over six episodes in game format, the project was stopped at Xenosaga 3.

And they were not made by the same people, the property rights were sold to Namco, it was originally owned by Squaresoft (later known as Square Enix).

  • Xenogears was indeed Episode 5, but Xenosaga DID NOT take place in the same universe.

  • Xenogears is indeed "Episode V", but that means is the fifth episode in the Xenogears Universe. The Xenogears and Xenosaga universes are different, they are NOT connected by plot.

For example, Xenogears Episode I was the creation of Deus and it's rebelion. Episode II was the recreation of the human race by Deus, Cain and the Gazel Ministry. Episode III was the Zeboim civilization. Episode IV was the war of Solaris, Shevat and Nisan. Episode V is Xenogears, the story that we actually play on.

  • I think episode IV Xenogears would be pretty kickass, it's the highlight of the XG story for me

  • And yes, they were made by the same team. Monolith Software was one of the teams working in Squaresoft. Most of the team resigned and decided to work with Namco.

Monolith couldn't recreate Xenogears' storyline completely because Squaresoft still owned the rights to the game. So they decided to "re-imagine" Xenogears, using some of the same concepts, terms and names. Thus they created Xenosaga, a "re-envisioned" Xenogears but not connected to the original.

  • Douce?

  • No wait not Deus, Douche.

Let's face it, Deus is a tremendous, intergalactic douche. What with killing everyone on the Eldridge and messing up the planet for 10000 years.

  • this was the last battle song....

  • i wish there was a four and a 5,6,7,8 and onT-T

  • There is, it goes:

XenoSaga I, II, III, unreleased game, Xenogears (5), unreleased game

  • i would be satisfied if they put the gamed together.

  • the games' story lines fit together, but they did not come sequentially.

  • actually they do at the end of xenosaga 3 kos-mos is seen floating of to a blue planet.the makers of both xenogears and xenosaga both say and agree that the blue planet is the planet were xenogears takes place.

  • you don't understand me. what i meant was:

    Xenogears came out first *5*

then Xenosaga I II and III.

The blue planet (according to the Xeno book "Perfect Works") is "Old Jerusalem" and that Deuce crashed the space ship into Old Jerusalem.

  • who deuce?what i meant was the time in the games go together becuase xenosaga takes place before xenogears.

  • Deuce = the boss of Xenogears AND the boss of Xenosaga, you clearly did not understand what i was trying to say. I fully understood AND I explained that the stories are connected "The games' story lines fit together". i also said that Xenosaga is prior to Xenogears when i said "Xenosaga I, II, III, unreleased game, Xenogears (5), unreleased game". read better, or learn english, whichever is your problem fix it.

  • ii have no problem with my English it confused me becuase i know very little about xenogaers.

  • everything you say is incorrect. you have absolutely no grasp of the xenogears or xenosaga storylines. they are thematically similar but it is impossible for both of them to take place in the same story universe.

  • "Old Jerusalem" AKA Earth

  • Comment removed
