I love this game. This and WWF No Mercy were some of the first games I grew up with. Though one thing i do not like and dissapointed me a little bit was that you cannot wrestle outside the arena. By that I mean you cannot go backstage. In story mode, near the end, you see Edge with the stolen World heavyweight chanmpion belt. I thought after you beat him up, you were going to fight him in the locker room. But you had to wrestle in the ring. :(

The best part of the day of reckoning series is that you felt like you controlled all the moves and it wasnt just a cut scene like it seems in the SvR series.

All the moves were allot better in DOR than they are in the SVR/WWE 12 games. In SVR all strikes are slow with 0% impact. But with DOR all strikes are fast with MAJOR impact.

Doesn't it feel like a waste of time in SVR when you're punching someone or stomping on them? Compared to DOR..

Too bad there was never a Day of Reckoning 3... All this game needed was a General Managers Mode/Story Designer to add much needed replay value, and maybe some more Create options (like Create a Belt, Create an Entrance Video, etc.) and I would never stop playing it! They also should've had a better soundtrack, and REALLY used motion capture for the animation, as well.

This game was released in 2005 and it still beats Smackdown vs RAW's gameplay, today.

The collision detection is what wins in this series. You can land an aerial move and hit 2-3 people if possible in a multi-man match. Of course it gets a bit out of control at times however it amazes.
