  • john if you could answer this for me i would be gratefull!! barring the rokers/springs/valves.. those lifters look very heavy.. im presuming not good for revs and maybe why on some of the simtested morors you show have upgraded rocker arm's??.. basically what im saying is at high revs wouldnt those lifters be prosucing/storing a lot of unessacary energy/inetia wich is a bad thing in a valvetrain.. aprreciate it if you find time to answer!!

  • @nickernosher - I have runs stock rockers, stock springs (Z28) stock valves, and stock lifter at 7500 rpm, how much more do you want to go? This isn't a 4-valve engine that will spin 12k rpm. You are correct, all of these things weigh a ton, but with roller lifters (which are heavier than hydraulic lifters) these engine will spin over 9k rpm. You do eat hp when you install higher compliance springs. Application, application, application....

  • @fiatnutz thanks john.. you see im from far away in ireland lol.. there arnt many single cam v engines grumbling about lol.. infact i have learned most of what i know about them from your vids and i thank you for that.. its 4valve inline 4's here john pretty much in everything.. alot of 4age's very popular here.. all the rally cars have them also 2 litre pintos and those all alloy suzukis not sure what it called.. im still learnig alot about your v engines over there. thank you john
