  • This is still the best hair tutorial video I've ever seen.

  • Thx!

  • with your advice i got from black to almost fiery with red and yellow and white and a little brown cos i'm fail lol in one go, my roots are almost white, thank you!! :'D

  • ~subbie~ ^-^

  • foam hair dye FTW

  • @iLoveU8120 your hair has to be dry and unwashed when you dye it

  • do u have to wash or wet ur hair before you dye it?

  • @iLoveU8120 none, actually; you have to NOT wash nor wet your hair before dying it, it will help damage it, its better off if your hair is dirty ( i know, weird.) bcuz the natural oils help reduce the damage from the hair dye :D <3 x

  • Ahaha. You're funny.

  • -raises hand- Kandee :O what should i do if my head is sensitive? i only dyed my hair once but it didn't do anything.... i mean it didn't hurt or anything but that's when i dye the very ends of my hair. But the problem for my mom to watch was that i had to wear a mask cause my eyes were watering a lot... so what do you think i could use?

  • i dye my hair black and i use permenat hair color and demi permenat hair color i use the permenat twice a year and demi permenat hair color every two weeks

  • Thanks for the tip about

  • Oh wow this was helpful it is just like putting a relaxer in your hair

  • I've been using your techniques for years, and my hair looks great. Thanks!

However, the instructions for my red permanent dye say to leave it in for 25 minutes. What if it takes 25 minutes for me to apply it? The ends of my hair barely have any time to develop. Would it be bad to leave it in for 10 minutes longer?

Also I heard for red hair that you should leave some dye in when rinsing. Is that a good idea? What if I planned on using a gloss after, what would happen?

  • @swhp8 From when you start applying it to your hair to when you stop, should not be included in the time for when you leave it in. So when you stop applying it and you're all done getting it situated, start the 25 minutes on a timer! That way all of your hair has a good amount of time to develop!

  • Does this still work with dying your hair rainbow? I'm dying the bottom portion of my hair red, then higher portion is orange, and yada yada. I'm stopping at blue on the top of my head and it's gonna be like dark blue to lighter blue to lightest blue and then a sorta medium green..

    CAN'T WAIT!!! ^.^

  • @bgonz10 you live and learn but get some comet Ajax the stuff you use at home in your kitchen and bathroom and take a kitchen sponge and scrub it off hope this helps :)

  • So I bleached my hair a few months ago, let it grow out now my red hair roots have grown back out about 3 inches... I want to dye the bleached part to my natural red hair with its natural blonde highlights... Help?!

  • What is a 10? is that peroxide? If I dont dye it perm wont it be all dirty everytime you wash it?

  • @krystalmonday -hair peroxide

  • @krystalmonday 10 is basically a developer that put the hair color into your hair. It doesn't lift (lighten) the hair at all. 20 lifts the hair a couple levels. 30 lifts a few more levels. 40 lifts A LOT. I've heard 40 is a lot harsher on your hair so I'd recommend using that only if you have really dark/black hair. That's just me. Also semi-permanent wont be dirty any of the time you wash it. Hope this helped!

  • Very helpful!!!

  • Hey , I died my friends hair . And I didn't put gloves on .! So it won't come off .! You went to beauty school .? Any tips .!?

  • You look a lot like Megan Fox

  • Just wanted to say thanks for your video. I got so good at doing my own hair dye after this that I actually do a better color job than most stylists I've gone to now!

  • so useful !! thank you so much

  • ok, I have black hair (dyed), and I plan to dye my hair blue parmanent. what do you recommend?

  • Great video! I am trying to grow out my natural color. If I use the semi permanent, should I paint the dye over my roots or just from the regrowth down the ends? I don't want my regrowth chemically altered. Do you know if semi permanent can alter natural hair color? Thanks!

  • wow you're pretty

  • is the "hair color remover" actually working?

  • Comment removed

  • you look like danielle for big brother

  • you seem like you'd be good with little kids

  • I never had those bands in my hair, and I use permanent hair dye.

  • My wife asked if could die hair. Like a macho guy I said, "if I can rebuild an engine I can dye hair". I lied. However, your video made me look look like i was a pro. THanks for helping keep my Lie alive

  • @bassxpro hhahahahahhaah ur sucha good husband lol really made me laugh :P

  • @bassxpro That's so cool lol :)

  • @bassxpro so wrong! yet i understand lol

  • @bassxpro you are awesome lol

  • Okay so i have natural brown hair but died it blonde, my roots came in and i want to use a semi like you but my roots are dark and ppl said u cant do semi on dark, but if i use a high vol. Will it work?

  • My hair always never died all the way. I'd be red on some globs and black on the other, but I'm sure this help!

I'm going to be using this brushes and seperated hair dye for the first time! NO more cheap drug store dye for me!

  • @LiLyroxs97 If you go to Sally's (I'm not sure if they have them where you are but they have them in MN) you can get really good hair dye and all the accesories for really cheap :)

  • 👍i like it

  • do you wash your hair before dying it?

  • you are awesome!

  • I've colored hair so much i feel like as i was watching this i could smell it! How weird! lol

  • Kandee I have been permanently dying my hair different colors at home for years but now no matter what color I use it always turns out red. Now my question is can I use a product to strip all that color of my hair but keeping my natural color in at home? My natural color is black. Thanks

  • @mardel3 Hi, i have an answer for you.. theres a shampoo known ass purple or blue shampoo that will wash away the redness from the hair because it counteracts red tints in your hair.. ive used it and it does work you can get it at sallys beauty supply ;)

  • @Mzmariin08 Good idea i have been using purple shampoo for many years! Be care full though because just last week i used it and it turned the ends of my hair blue! So if this happens to you just keep shampooing (shampoo with your everyday shampoo)

your hair untill it comes out!

  • @Thehappyc :) I use it every other day just a short amount of time until the color comes out and then i just stop using it,until i need it again :)

  • @Mzmariin08 ASS PURPLE OMFG

  • aren't you supposed to dye the ends first?

  • i just like to watch people do make up or hair but how beautiful you are i hardley dout youll need it

  • spahgetti

  • Was your hair dirty or clean before you died it? D:

  • @shyislame It's better when its slightly greasy so the colour absorbs better and in a way it stops it from staining the skin:-).

  • Do you have a link or something for the result? Really wanna see it!<3

  • hi, for the washing part after u color ur hair, do u wash it with shampoo? or just water?

    love u vid <3

  • Great tutorial!!!! It is definitely helpful to me. I know you went to school for hair and all that but I want to offer you a hair remedy that will thicken your hair. Its real simple. CASTOR OIL......Yes deep condition your hair with it about once a week just apply like you do your dye. You will notice your hair will fill out. All you have to do is take your fav conditioner and mix in about 3 tbl spoons of castor oil. DO NOT Shampoo first. Let it sit on your hair for about an hr if no heat.

  • this was so good! u inspire me here is my blog where i show what u have been teaching me through youtube nanas.blogg.se :D hugs!

  • Your so damn hot

  • I'm trying to dye my hair gray and Im using one of those Wella color charm hair dyes. My regular hair is kind of an ashy brown. Do i use the whole bottle of hair dye with the volume 40 creme? and if so how much creme should i use with it? thanks.

  • Pravana Chromasilk is a permanent hair color!!!! The only way to make it a semi/demi permanent is to mix it with ZERO LIFT developer, not 10 volume! Do not use 10 volume if you want a semi perm haircolor! I am an artistic educator for Pravana and this is a just basic product knowledge.

  • you are so good at doin hair!!! i have a big question though i am thinkin of dyin my hair but how would i know what colors loook goood on me?

  • after rinsing your hair do you have to use shampoo too?

  • these tips really helped me :) especially about putting the extra dye on places where it stained your skin . it really works ! thanks!

  • So my roots are light brown and the ends of my hair are black, and I really want my hair lighter again! Plz anyone help me on what I should do and what products I should get!!?? :)

  • you have tons of lines on ur forehead

  • (Ahem, 'scuse my stupid screen name...)

I had no sound on this video :( I dont know if that's just me or? Very sad :(

  • 7:05 Yhur ForHead Looks Weird....

  • where can you purchase the developer?

  • @NYJanus Sally Beauty Supply

  • @xXxImaMonstahxXx only if you're going lighter, doll.

  • @Jaysalove i wanted to color my hair like a bright red or someother color thats y

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone Please Answer!!!! Does It Really Matter How Much Deveopler You Use!! Or Not ?

  • @chrisray0506 yes, if you have dark brown hair and want light brown hair that is three levels of lift so you will need a 30 developer. Hope that helps :D

  • is your hair black

  • this only works if u wanna dye ur hair dark .. right?

because if i wanted to dye my hair with a light color and started with the roots it will look way lighter than the ends of my hair

so can u do a tutorial on how to dye ur hair with light color

  • @meeee1992 You want the higher developer if you are going lighter, and lower if you are going darker.

  • How many washes before the dye washes out? And after one wash, does it tone down a bit?

  • so when she was talking about the developer...so if i have black hair and want to go lighter, i get the lower number developer, or is it the other way around?

  • @meeee1992 hi i'm a hairdresser. it depends how many colour lifts you want to achieve. one lift colour 3%, upto 2 lifts 6%, 9% for upto 4 lifts. i wouldnt use 12 if your not use to using developer as it develops quickly if u need any advice messege me. if you use volume instead of % let me know as i'm in the uk but colour uses an international colour code.

  • Where can you buy Pravana?

  • I love how she says "any DRUG store ;)" ahahaha, thats cute :3

  • how long should you wait between dying ur hair?

  • Did you really DYE your hair black or its really BLACK?

  • PRAVANA IS THE SHIT! Especially their temporary colors.

  • to me she kinda looked like megan fox.

  • wow, you're amazingly hot :)

  • i wish stores had more semi permanent colors because all i see are these permanent ones and now i cant take the black out my hair lol

  • I cannot belive it! Your very beautiful i cannot help it...

  • Comment removed

  • This was super helpful! Thanks!

  • im dying it permanent , cuz i have this stuff now that gets rid of it x

  • @chilly11monkey not a good idea. i do hair too. the stuff you have is very harsh, it strips it out but damages your hair. Do what you want, but be warned :) Semi or Demi permanent is best.

  • 10 volume developer is a "permanent" dye developer. As a Hairdresser that uses the entire Pravana color line in the salon, I can tell you they make a "zero lift" developer to make their color semi permanent.

  • wow ur my roll model

  • wow ur so beautiful and i love how jittery u r:)lolz

  • Hi hi! Have you ever tried bee4biz (do a google search)? it is a link locker that pays each time someone completes your survey and unlocks your locked link. A mate of mine makes tons money with them just asking people to do surveys.

  • Too bad I just bought permanent.

  • hihi i can see the camera in the mirror ! :)

  • i permed my hair curly like 6 months ago do you think i can dye my hair now ?my hair has like three different colors in it so i want to die it:. hep

  • LOLOL 7:02 looks like E.T ... butt pretty x)

  • LOOOL at 3:13 looks like an intestine..

  • my hair is kind of just as dark as your hair, maybe a level or two lower and definately a little faded because its been awhile since iv gotten it doen. now iw anna go blonde, what is the best way to do that? any good tips? i would really appreciate the help! im asking you because i love your videos and i love you. your sooo sweet! lol (:

  • @sm123456ful Do you have hair color on your hair now? That will make a difference because color doesn't lift (or in other words lighten) color. So if you have any existing color on your hair you'll need to approach it differently than if it is your natural, virgin hair.

  • @sm123456ful Sorry im not kandee! but your going to have to bleach your hair, which is permanent, and the only way to get blonde hair. x

  • @fuzzyfaye123 it depends in the persons natural hair base colout. I'm a base 8 and i dont need to bleach my hair. if your a base 5or lower you will have too use pre-lightners we dont like the term bleach

  • hey, kandee!! thank you so much for the tips!! my makeup is now flawless and hair looks great!!!

  • I think that shirt looked good in you. It is not a ugly shirt

  • i tried to watch this but really couldnt stand your voice sorry

  • Your so happy and hyper i love it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my hair is gold colour

  • i dyed my hair to be a light brown. but previusloy i dyed my hair black like 4 or so months ago. but i dyed my hair and it only dyed my roots like my new growth,. but that doesnt make sense to me anyone? tell me if they know?? i heard it maybe my body temp. bc, if ur body temp, is too hot then the dye can get just abosorbed a the top. anyone????? who know what they are talking aboutttt????????????????????

  • @YurieAplus Its just because black is one of the hardest hair colors to remove. It penetrates the hair shaft super deep, and if you try to dye over it, then the color wont show throught. Try a hair color remover. There's a great one called "color oops" that you can buy at walgreens or anywhere else. That will strip your hair of any dark colors (if you lightened it, that took your natural color out, and you cant go back to your natural state, sorry ) Then dye your hair whatever color you please :)

  • What is your natural hair color?

  • what if you do demi permanent?

  • holy forehead roles

  • I'm sorry, all i could think of when you where talking is that your vary vary pretty. I'm sorry, i tried to pay attention, i really did.

  • tthhaannkkss for the advice!

  • @Emmetthartung Nah, I'm watching this in 243 on my iStone

  • @Fuzzywires Then, how did you type this? xD

  • @PeaceRockSmiles I took a flint rock and ripped the letters inside my iRock, then I threw the iRock into the future so it fell into a scanner, then the comment got uploaded to the interwebz.

  • @Fuzzywires Ha! Smart, Smart.

  • @Fuzzywires was that before or after the iBoulder came out?

  • @disney1nickjluvr45 It was about a week before actually.

  • @Fuzzywires oh right! I remember reading about it in New York Stone

  • Aww your so cute (No Homo) even though im younger that you lol

  • i luv yhhurrr hair! i luv IHT!

  • Hello(: Um I was just wondering if you could make a video on how yu keep your hair so healthy after dying i always realize how nice it looks(: See I dye my hair randomly I guess you could say lol(: But i just want my hair to be healthy and soft again(: Ive used varies products but they don't really work:/

  • Can you help me with dying my hair. My hair is naturally dark blonde, but I like it to be more of a beige blonge....It always turns out orange with a lot of reddish tints. Even if I go to the most expensive salon in Houston. I need help. Please.

  • @DTexan2009 it turns out orange if you use a reddish dye or if you leave it in too long. one thing you can do is buy a few types of dye and test each one on one strand of hair, somewhere underneath, where it won't be very visible if it turns out wrong, and when you find one that you like you can do your whole hair with it. if you want to store an opened tube of hairdye btw, you can put it in the fridge, that's what i do. you can even test the same dye with different timing, see if that works.

  • im a boy ^_^

  • so lets say you did dye your hair w/ permanent color and now your like ah! and your going to dye your hair w/ semi-permanent hair dye, what should you do so you don't get a streak?

  • I love your positivity lol(:

  • is the process the same if your only dying one piece of hair?

  • lol grey hairs ? .... 07:31

  • oo that a pretty hair doo :) hahaa

  • Great video. Thanks for the tip on how to remove color off your skin. Dark color is so hard to get off.

  • How can you get into beauty school? :)

  • OMG U LOOK LIKE MY FRIEND'S MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So I'm dying my hair from brown to purple, would developer 40 be to high or do I need to go lower in the number?

  • I loved your video!! very helpful tips! I have very dark hair and I want my hair to be Jennifer lopez's color.. any tips for that?

  • @Bunnigrl3 Put in caramel highlights every few months in your hair. You have to gradualy lighten your hair:)

  • I have a question, can I mix box hair dye? the same brand but different colours..

  • Can someone tell me what he's talking about.! Aha (Person below me ----\/---

  • Stop what you`re doing, sinner!

Mathew 5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

  • @waycooltoo lol?

  • @waycooltoo I guess 2000 years ago it wasn´t that easy to get a good hair dye :-P But now that every drugstore provides bleach and dye,.... why not????

  • @MsLaengchen Die = Dye (just kidding)

  • @waycooltoo I really really hope u where kidding when u wrote your first comment

  • OMG YOU'RE FREAKING HOT.

  • how do you color your hair with a shake-it-up bottle

  • shit I thought we were going to see the end result, did a good job but

  • I colored my hair back in July this year and I wanted to get rid of my highlights but apparently the highlights are coming through the temporary color.. Does anyone have any suggestions cuz I have mid back length hair and don't have the money for it to be colored professionally.. HELP!!!

  • I have heard that the color from a box is the same as the pros use (such as Loreal), but it's the fact that people don't know how to color hair is what makes hair look like total turds.

I want to go lighter blond, but just a shade or two and go gradually lighter from there. Can I use a blond hair color box and do this method without it poopin' up my hair? My hair is currently a dark blond.

  • omg you look so cute with that hairstyle at 11:42!!

  • your fore head wrinkles alot XD hehe.

  • Question! Important..id like to know whats the best way for washing your hair? Will it hurt if u just wash out the color in the shower? or is it best to flip ur head over in a sink or somthing? Please Respond back! ill really appreicate it! :)

  • Really like this vid! been tryin to find somthing like this....very helpful!! :D thumbs up!!

  • Does your fringe annoy you lol

  • Wow she's happy. :)

  • do u wash ur hair b4 hand or just go with it??

  • how much does this stuff cost???what hair dyes at walmart would be good to use??

  • @TheAuBrEeZy223 i use Splat hair color. it works great but it comes in neon colors and not any normal colors! hope this helped!

  • @TheAuBrEeZy223 I use 2 hair colors for $6.49 each and developer is $4.49 at Sally Beauty Supply store.

  • I have trouble getting the length of my hair, that's where I find gaps :/

  • your videos are the best. i love you. k bye.
