  • Looks like Jaun Epstien on Drums!

  • I don't know why Steve Cropper is so under rated. He's as good as Cray and Clapton, and he was in the Blues Brothers movie. Or maybe he is famous and he just flew under my radar all this time. I loved Booker T since I was a kid and just now realized he was in the BB movie from 1980-maybe I'm behind the times.

  • @6irondriver He's not under rated. He was voted 2nd greatest guitar player of all time by Mojo Magazine in its famous poll of music experts and professional musicians.

  • one of the funkiest songs ever recorded.

  • thee bassist isss sooo badddasssss

  • MAGIC MAGIC VERY VERY GRANDIOSE YEARS 70 MY GOOD

  • I've heard this track a 1000 times ... hey, they've played it 1000 times. And still, they're clearly aroused and I am again. They manage to avoid fearful jazz-soul cliche and lay down some erect, tasteful, spacious funk. Effortless, timeless and nailed ON.

  • @SpookieLoveCookie Agree! And it's the perfect example of each musciain sacrificing ME for the overall goal of the band, the team. The effect is hugely powerful and selfless.

  • what year was this recorded?

  • thanks for posting love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was probably the first jazz recording that ever fell in love with more than forty years ago in Brooklyn. I"m 52. Thanks for posting. It sounds as great as the original album. What a pleasure and a joy.

  • @icub4ucme1st gld you like and enjoy it--but this is not jazz.

  • This was recorded in Cannes during that years film festival. They played to an all-too- mellow crowd. The audience was comprised of a bunch of uptight international film jerk-offs who sat on their asses all night. They should have filmed this in Paris proper where they are truly appreciated . VIVA LA STAX!!!!!!!!.

  • very nice ! です.

  • this is one of the most laid back and chillin tunes so far ... Great

  • just get hold of the 'melting pot' album and everything will become clear

    seminal

  • Donald Duck Dunn also played with the Mar-Key pre - Booker T. & the Memphis Group.

  • thats the bassist from the Blues Brothers fo sho

  • Duck Dunn had a successful career as an influential musician with Booker T & The MG's LONG BEFORE anybody dreamed up the Blues Brothers.

  • never heard this one befor and am glad i did

  • its that b-line...

  • Danny Gottlieb (ex-Metheny) on drums

  • Anybody know what year this was?

    thanks

  • 1990 - Bact to Stax show, Cannes, France

  • Cult Classic! Timeless music for the soul!

  • I remember this in Dad's truck on the 8 track, back when a kid could stand up in the middle of the bench seat. Oh and Dad had a Coors light in his lap, I was groovin' and ya' know what? We didn't fuckin' DIE!! Rock on-- I hope?

  • excellent!

  • every bboy gotta feel this .

  • like good wine we only get better, we all have got to remember the goodtimes and try to forget all the bad, listen to the music and it will guide us

  • this has always been one of my favorites by the MG's. i love the way that they loosened up and strayed away from the basic groove of the original recording to interject some new riffs to this tune.

can't beat that STAX funk groove!

  • He is not Al Jackson on drum, but this is GREAT the same

  • Indeed ! Al Jackson´s drumming made the difference.

  • Dan Gotleib on drums!

  • Unfortunately it is. He's no Al Jackson.

  • agree on that one

  • Was that Steve erkle I just saw?

  • Yes

  • mitici.....mitici......mitici.........

  • @antiann52 ha! love the lyrics! these cats.......thats it man, so dam funky!!!!! peace!!! breakmasterz!!! CLASSIC!!!

  • Is that Herbie Hancock on the organ/keyboard?

  • No. What is th ename of the group?...you have the answer

  • They look a lot alike.

  • The drummer doesn't.

  • What's the drummer got to do with it? Booker and Herbie look a like. Random.

  • Wow great sound of the keyboards and that groovy bass.you rock guys. Thanx for the video.

  • if that's what you say, well we don't like douchebags around in my neck of the woods, we must never have this drummer comming around here...............

  • plus it's miked with that horrible 80's drum sound, which makes him even worse. Anyway, Jackson's cousin was supposed to be great live, and it wasn't that much better than this one when I saw them 3 years ago. I mean, we judge any drummer the MG's might get these days by comparing them with maybe the best R'n'B drummer in the history of music, so maybe that's not fair...

  • The drummer they have for this gig is such a douchebag.

  • Agreed.
