Hi does the number of cells in a battery really make a difference in speed, I've got identical set up to you and I'm running 2 2 cell 5000mah lipos and my truck is slow as shit, it's got the acceleration but not the top end speed. If I run 2 3 cells would the difference be noticeable, basically would it be quick?
@MrGorillion Yes the number of cells that you run makes a big difference. I was five cell I think. 6 cell would be a huge increase in power and speed. Just keep an eye on your temps.
Yep just as I thought, the gearbox has gone and the front diffs on it's way out. I'm gonna chuck all the electrics in a savage x or a xl, at the moment it's all in a standard old chassis. When it's up and running I'll post some videos, cheers for your advice

How do you program a ezrun 150a esc? Do you need a programming card? How do I set default settings? Sorry about all the questions but I've looked on the Internet and I'm confused, not that it takes a lot to confuse me.
All I know is that it's a feigao 9xl motor with ezrun 150 amp esc. I brought it with the pinion missing so I've no clue what tooth pinion to get. It seems like only 1 size pinion would fit in cos of the motor being fixed in place. On eBay what would I type in????
@MrGorillion Type in Mod 1 Pinion, should find some. Or Robinson Racing mod 1 pinion. Or Novak makes pinions too. I had originally had bought a 3 pack like 13-14-15. for around $20.

@MrGorillion Depends on what motor your running. In order to keep the temps down I had to run a 13 tooth. Start with what pinion you have and go from there. I ordered my pinions on ebay......I think they were Robinson Racing Pinions.

Is that the 1900kv 36/74 XL motor that hobbyking sells? I have an ESC and im looking at motors right now and thinking hard about that one since its only $32.
@CumminsDriver635 Yes I think it is the same, I bought this one off Kershaw Designs he called it the Revolver motor but it looks identical to the ones from hobbyking. I'm still running the same motor with no problems.

when your esc burned up was it switched on or off when you plugged in the batteries? Was it replaced under warranty? I was thinking of converting my fleet to Ezrun but it seems I keep hearing of more examples where they fry.
It was off, I was using a 2s and 3s in series and I pluged the 2s in first and it blew. I didn't even bother replacing it. Now they have the Xerun systems which are smaller and improved, and I here nothing but good things about them. I'm still running an 80amp Ezrun with 2 and 3s with no probs what so ever.
It cost me about a hundred bucks, but it is now dicontinued, they have replaced it with the Xerun series which is new and improved, and I'm guessing it should fit in a Pede.
i like the truck alot i am thinking about getting one and doing this converion kit i have some qestions would the three spedd tran not work? there would you get a motor mount? and about the 5s baTT is it 1 batt or 2batt some people have and put them in series and it 5s .would series be better or parallel. i thought parallel would give you more volts and series more amp longer run time . matbe i have them mixed up if i do i am sorry. i am dyslexic
Your probably better off just getting the Flux and putting on the extended TVP's. The good thing about this setup is I have the lipos inside the tvp's. I was running 1 2s and 1 3s lipo in series for more voltage, parallel gives you more run time.
3 speed works, but you need then a mecanical break and the reverse kit. in my Savage XL nitro the reverse break verry fast. you can't do reversedonut's on hard ground. I convert my savage with the mamba monster max and one speed gearing. its easyer and you onely need a steering servo :D
yes i got the same set up in my e revo and my mate raced my with his e revo brushless edition i pissed all over him caslte creations cant match it no way it kills and chews it the castle the motor and speedo on the ez run is big much bigger than my savage flux ez run rules
Since this video my ezrun esc has burned up. All I did was plug in a fresh set of batts and sparks came from the capacitor side and it was dead, no steering no lights no nothing.
i love these 150amp ezrun combos they blow the mmm castle stuff out the water . but why you locked your tranny in first . i locked mine in seconde gear it has more top end speed ???
Man trade those giant wheels for some standard rims and lightweight proline tires or hellfire tires... youll be faster, more durable, and longer running.
I put the big joes on just for the vid to show the power even with the heavy tires and rims, I've since put a set x ss rims and tires on, and the power is just silly!!
Hey, never changed them out and never had a problem with them. But I also didn't do heavy bashing with the oversize tires.

They are the Axial 40 series 8 spoke chrome. These wheels and tires are a little on the heavy side though.

I have the ProLine Mashers 40 series NIB here. Also went for the normal sized rims and tires because of the weight. But 40 series do look fantastic!

I had to come up with a way to lock the tranny and the easy way for me was to lock it in first. Next time I will try second also.
